Commenced to race keenly through the middle stages. MUSS GET IT Lay inwards in the straight. SPANISH SUCCESS Crowded with the rider having to steady his mount near the 800m when racing keenly. PRIME WITNESS Bumped passing the 800m. JACINTA JINX Raced wide throughout. MISS DIAMONDS Bumped passing the 800m. SISTER BENNIE - Commenced awkwardly. SHE'S DYNAMITE - Commenced awkwardly. GAKANATOR Squeezed on jumping and dipped shortly after. QUINDAYA Shifted outwards and bumped at the 800m. Raced greenly throughout. Shoeing Changes: SPANISH SUCCESS Pads On (Off fore) PRIME WITNESS Bar Shoe On (Near hind) RACE 2: LIQUOR BARONS NORTHAM MAIDEN M An objection lodged by Jockey B. Parnham rider of the third placed USHERETTE against the second placed SHADABLAZE (C. Johnston-Porter) alleging interference passing the 100m was dismissed. In consideration, Stewards were of the opinion that although there was interference to USHERETTE passing the 100m, given the margin of 1¼ lengths and that both horses had finished off the race in an equal fashion, Stewards could not be fully satisfied that the interference received by USHERETTE justified the reversal of placings and therefore the objection was dismissed. CORSE HE'S QUICK Lay inwards passing the 150m. CASH MACHINE Impeded for clear running over the final 150m. SON OF XENA Raced wide throughout. Lay inwards passing the 200m. SEDIMENTARY Slow into stride, losing three lengths. SPIRITUAL LIFT Raced wide throughout. Lay outwards in the straight. HIDDEN KINGDOM A post race Veterinary examination of the mare revealed it to be lame in both forelegs. Trainer Ms L. Strempel undertook to monitor the mare s recovery and advise Stewards accordingly.

2 NORTHAM : /2 Race 2 Continued AKKA SINGA Steadied outwards from heels passing the 100m. USHERETTE - Commenced awkwardly and bumped losing one length. Taken outwards passing the 300m to obtain clear running. Crowded and steadied passing the 100m and impeded for clear running from the 75m. SHADABLAZE Bumped on jumping. Raced tightly with another runner passing the 50m. ALBINGIA Tightened and restrained passing the 150m. Gear Change: IMA HUSTLER Winkers Off General: Stewards inquired into the reason for ALBINGIA (W. Pike) being restrained passing the 150m. Evidence was taken from Jockeys W. Pike, P. Harvey (CORSE HE S QUICK) and K. Cross (AKKA SINGA) and Apprentice C Johnston-Porter (SHADABLAZE). It was established that when approaching the 150m CORSE HE S QUICK shifted inwards marginally and as a result placed pressure on AKKA SINGA which was carried inwards marginally and as a result SHADABLAZE which was improving quickly to its inside was carried inwards marginally resulting in ALBINGIA being held tight and having to restrain near the 150m. After considering all evidence and taking into account Jockey Pike s evidence that his mount was racing greenly, Stewards warned and advised Apprentice C Johnston-Porter that in similar circumstances he is to straighten his mount to prevent interference. In relation to SHADABLAZE (C. Johnston-Porter) racing tightly with another runner passing the 50m, Jockey P. Harvey (CORSE HE S QUICK) was shown a replay of a section of the patrol film where he allowed his mount to shift inwards placing pressure onto that filly and was advised that in similar circumstances he is to afford more room to runners to his inside or further action may be taken. RACE 3: SHEAR ELEGANCE FOR HAIR MAIDEN M WESTERN STAR was a late withdrawal at 9:23am when Trainer Mr A. Maley advised that the filly was suffering from a cold resulting in nasal discharge. In view of his late advice, Trainer A Maley was advised that a double scratching fee would apply. TIME TO DINE Raced keenly through the middle stages. Impeded for clear running from on straightening until passing the 300m and lay inwards for the remainder of the event. CASHSPIEL - Slow into stride losing one length. HELL ON WHEELS Steadied when improving in close proximity of another runner s heels near the 800m. ROLL ON JOHN-Trainer Mr M Wright advised following the race the gelding was found to be shin sore in both fore legs and would now be sent for a spell. MISSISSIPPI SAMMY - Raced wide throughout. LOVE TRADE Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Impeded for clear running from on straightening and angled outwards near the 350m. ZAFORTUNE (NZ) Crowded and steadied near the 125m. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for ZAFORTUNE (B. Parnham) being crowded and having to steady his mount near the 125m. It was established that Apprentice R Tan (TALON STRIKE) allowed his mount to shift outwards resulting in the above interference. Apprentice R. Tan was subsequently reprimanded under AR.137(a) for careless riding and was advised that he must afford runners to his outside more room when shifting outwards or further action may be taken.

3 NORTHAM : /3 RACE 4: NORTHAM SKIN AND BODY CARE MAIDEN M TORTE CAPRESE was a late withdrawal by Stewards acting on Veterinary advice at 2:47pm when the filly, after being loaded into its barrier, became fractious and reared over becoming cast. Stewards subsequently ordered that all monies wagered on TORTE CAPRESE be refunded in full and with regard to betting with bookmakers all successful wagers made prior to 2:47pm to be subject to the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket: 1 st ) BLACK FREDA less 6c win and 10c place 2 nd ) CHARLESTOWN less 8c place 3 rd ) NEW ATTIRE less 8c place Trainer Mr B. Albuino was advised that TORTE CAPRESE would have to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards before racing again and he is to continue to engage the services of a senior rider for its future racing. FINNY BOY Raced wide from the 800m. MAGIC ATACANTA Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. SING FOUR US DAN Over-raced in the early stages and was steadied getting its head in the air passing the 1300m and was then restrained when improving onto heels approaching the 1000m and lost ground. ANOTHER REMARK Slow into stride, losing one length. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Steadied when improving onto heels near the 800m. Impeded for clear running for a short distance passing the 200m. FAIR LUCK Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have returned with an abrasion to the near hind. MISS ROSENDALE Rider reported that his mount was under pressure from on straightening and lay inwards in the straight. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. RUBY BLITZ Rider reported that her mount raced greenly throughout. Steadied when improving onto the heels of another runner passing the 1100m. Shifted inwards away from another runner when racing greenly passing the 200m. BLUES SHADOW Raced wide for the majority of the event. Lay inwards in the straight. Following this race Jockey J. Mallyon was examined by the Club s Medical Officer and was declared fit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements. RACE 5: DUNNINGS CALTEX MAIDEN M The start of this race was delayed by approximately 7 minutes due to CARDINAL S CROWN casting a plate en route to the barriers which required refitting. STANTON ABBEY Raced wide throughout. DRIFTING PAST Impeded for clear running from on straightening until continually angled outwards to secure a clear passage passing the 250m. ROMAN SKYLAB Commenced awkwardly and crowded shortly after the start. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Carried outwards and bumped passing the 200m. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. PLAYFUL GIRL Raced wide from the 700m. Carried outwards and bumped passing the 200m. BINFIELD MISS Slow into stride losing one length. MUSGAZE Impeded for clear running in the early stages of the straight. Lay inwards over the final 250m. VANDIGAIL Bumped outwards passing the 250m.

4 NORTHAM : /4 RACE 6: DUKES INN HANDICAP M Correct weight was delayed whilst Jockey T. Turner (MASTER GOLD) and Co-Trainer Mr R. Harvey viewed the patrol film of the early stages of the race before deciding not to lodge an objection BELLS TOWER Commenced awkwardly. Mis-strode when entering the straight. MASTER GOLD Raced keenly in the early stages. Steadied outwards passing the 800m to be positioned outside the leader. DAWN'S FLYER Slipped on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Lay inwards passing the 300m with the rider having to stop riding and correct her mount and shortly after shifted outwards marginally. STAGE GIRL Crowded and impeded near the 200m. Gear Change: PADDY Nose Band On RACE 7: SKYRACING.TV PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES HEAT M CADENZA Raced in restricted room and bumped with another runner at the 1000m. Impeded for clear running from on straightening until approaching the 300m. A post race Veterinary examination of the mare revealed it to be slow to recover. GIGIDY GIGIDY GOO Slipped on jumping and as a result lost two lengths. Bumped near the 1000m. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have made respiratory noises. Trainer Mr B. Pearce advised that he will have the gelding undergo an endoscopic examination and advise Stewards of the results. CHILLY RECEPTION Raced wide throughout. OUR FINEST MOMENT Lay outwards and eased passing the 250m. ALL TOO MUCH Hindquarters bumped outwards passing the 1000m. THREESUN Impeded over the concluding stages. WESTEROS Taken outwards to obtain clear running passing the 300m. BEYOND THE LEGEND Lay inwards under pressure in the straight. Gear Change: CHILLY RECEPTION Tongue Bit On General: Apprentice Sarah Bonner (CADENZA) was shown a replay of a section of the race in the early stages where she allowed her mount to stride into restricted room and as a result bumped with another runner. Apprentice Bonner was advised that she is to ensure that she has sufficient room prior to allowing her mounts to improve or further action may result. Further, Ms Bonner was fined the sum of $100 for negligence in failing to weigh out with her stirrup irons. RACE 8: RIVERS EDGE CAFE HANDICAP M BATTLE KING Bounded on jumping losing two lengths. HALUSHI Veered outwards on jumping. Over-raced in the early and middle stages and as a result was taken outwards from the 1000m to improve its position to take up the lead passing the 800m. STARRY DANE Impeded for a short distance rounding the home turn. Lay inwards from the 150m. Rider was interviewed in relation to his riding passing the 1000m where there was an opportunity to improve his mount into a three-wide position however was covered by other runners that had improved quickly from behind him. Jockey Pike stated that at its previous start the gelding had settled back in the field and had run home in the straight and he was of the

5 NORTHAM : /5 Race 8 Continued opinion at that stage of the race it would be detrimental to its performance to race it in a three wide position without cover. These comments were noted. MAJOR DETAIL - Commenced awkwardly and crowded. Raced keenly in the early stages. Impeded for clear running for a short distance entering the straight. BLACK CHANT Lay outwards from the 200m. ALIGHTING Slipped on jumping. Bumped by another runner at the 300m. Trainer Mr D. Morton will be contacted regarding the filly s performance and recovery and his future intentions for it. GOLD INVADER Raced wide from the 900m. GENERAL Routine specimens were taken from all winners. The following horses were selected for pre-race blood samples to be taken: Race 3. CASHSPIEL Race 4. In consideration of penalty, Stewards took into account Jockey Mallyon s good record in relation to this rule. Race 2. Jockey Lisa Staples (SPIRITUAL LIFT) reprimanded under ARR.137A(5)(a)(ii) for using the whip on one additional occasion than permitted prior to the 100m. In consideration of penalty, Stewards took into account Jockey Staples good record in relation to this rule. Race 7. Jockey Jordan Mallyon (BOY BYRNES) $150 under ARR.137A(5)(a)(ii) for using the whip on one additional occasion than permitted prior to the 100m. Race 8. Apprentice Fiona Bell (BATTLE KING) $200 under ARR.137A(5)(a)(i) for using the whip consecutively prior to the 100m. Race 7. Apprentice Sarah Bonner- fined the sum of $100 for negligence in failing to weigh out with her stirrup irons.
