(jl) Supplementary: ROSEHILL GARDENS Saturday 4 June 2011 Race 1: Wyndham Estate Handicap 1400m Trainer Mr C Waller stated that Abbotslon has been spelled and will be gelded. Race 3: Alibi Bourbon Handicap 1200m Stable representative Mr J Cummings reported that Ardeche has been spelled following its disappointing performance in this event. Race 4: Omni Handicap 1200m Ms A Large, representing trainer Mr A Denham, reported that Mumslad had pulled up well following its disappointing performance and no abnormalities had been detected. Ms Large added that it was the intention to continue with the gelding s campaign. Race 6: McWilliam s Handicap 1300m Trainer Mr J Pride reported that Trilione had pulled up well and reported that the mare did not handle the slow track conditions. He added that he intended to back Trilione up this Saturday at Randwick. CANTERBURY PARK Wednesday 1 June 2011 Race 6: Hyland Race Colours Handicap 1550m Stable representative Mr R Elliott reported that Mossamine had pulled up well and it was the intention of the stable to now give Mossamine a short let up, with a view to racing later in the month. ROYAL RANDWICK Saturday 28 May 2011 Race 3: Wilson Asset Management Handicap 1600m Trainer Mr P Snowden reported that Chevronel had pulled up well subsequent to the race. He added that the gelding was not suited by leading the field in heavy conditions and it would be the intention of the stable to continue with its preparation with the addition of blinkers. CANTERBURY PARK Wednesday 18 May 2011 Race 4: Rosehill Gardens Event Centre Plate (2 nd Division) 1100m Stewards today concluded their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the late withdrawal of Flying Zero in the abovementioned event, when further evidence was taken from Trainer Mr C Waller, veterinary evidence was tendered from Dr C Suann, Official Veterinarian Racing NSW, and Dr R Alexander, veterinarian for trainer Mr C Waller. Mr Waller explained that Flying Zero had suffered a minor eye injury in the stable on the morning of the race and was cleared by his stable veterinarian and on this basis he was satisfied that the colt was fit to race. Trainer Mr C Waller was reminded of his obligations under

2 CANT 2 AR140(a) in that he must notify Stewards of any matter that may affect the running of a horse in a race. The Stewards were furthermore satisfied that Flying Zero had not been treated on race day with any medication due to the eye injury. HAWKESBURY Thursday 14 April 2011 Race 2: Shuffle Master Maiden Plate 1300m - Stewards today continued an inquiry into the reason for Fraulein Ruby breaking down in its near foreleg and having to be subsequently euthanased. At Hawkesbury on 14 April 2011 Stewards had interviewed trainer Mrs D McGrath and rider of the filly, J Penza. Mrs McGrath reported that the filly had been treated previously for lameness in the near foreleg, due to a racing incident, however had since been cleared by her vet and there had been no ongoing concerns with regards to the filly s soundness. The matter was then adjourned pending the veterinary records of Fraulein Ruby. The inquiry was concluded after further evidence was taken from Mrs McGrath and reports were tendered by stable veterinarian Dr John Crowley, a report from the Hawkesbury Equine Veterinary Centre and Racing NSW Official Veterinarian, Dr C Suann, whereby those reports and veterinary records had indicated no evidence of any abnormalities that would have caused the filly to break down in the near foreleg. LATE RIDING CHANGES As App. A Hyeronimius was injured, the following rider substitutions were approved: Race 5 Race 7 App. B Spriggs on Shimmering Heights. App. B Spriggs on Skullas Sister. RACE 1: Ascot Club Plate 1100m: Valdhez jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with Battle Of Britain. Chiliad was slow to begin. Near the 600m Valdhez was steadied when crowded by Battle Of Britain (N Rawiller), which laid in, despite the efforts of its rider. As a consequence, Chiliad and Silver Shark, which were following, were hampered. Silver Shark then commenced to race ungenerously after this incident and near the 500m shifted out and hampered The Boss. Near the 450m Slippery Eel became unbalanced when racing in restricted room to the inside of Silver Shark. When placed under pressure leaving the 400m Chiliad (App. J Collett) became awkward on the heels of Crystal Empire and ran out when being restrained from the heels of that runner. App. Collett was cautioned against the practice of positioning himself too close to the heels of runners in front, particularly in this race with a number of inexperienced horses. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of Crystal Empire, T Clark stated that the filly, after being crossed in the early stages, did not travel comfortably at any stage of the event and the only explanation he could offer was Crystal Empire was not comfortable on today s slow track. A post race veterinary examination of Crystal Empire did not reveal any abnormalities. A post race veterinary examination of Four Iron revealed the gelding to be displaying a poor post race recovery. A post race veterinary examination of Harley Down did not reveal any abnormalities.

3 CANT 3 RACE 2: Rosehill Gardens Event Centre Handicap 1900m: Another Legend jumped awkwardly and was hampered shortly after the start when crowded by Ausbred Gold, which shifted out. In this incident Another Legend was taken out onto Grand Iam, which became unbalanced when bumped by Another Legend. Near the 1600m Leicester Square was steadied to avoid the heels of Gifted Music (App. C Schofield), which shifted in when not two lengths clear. App. Schofield was advised to ensure he is two lengths clear when shifting ground. Making the turn into the straight on the first occasion Another Legend hung out across the heels of Dawnfire Dancer and consequently had to be checked. When the pace steadied approaching the 1400m Top Spot was steadied when crowded by Zate when that runner was taken in by Grand Iam. A short distance later Dawnfire Dancer shifted in when being restrained from the heels of Altonio, resulting in Another Legend being crowded. Ausbred Gold was inclined to overrace in the early and middle stages and for some distance near the 1400m was restrained from the heels of Gifted Music. Approaching the 600m Top Spot shifted out to improve around the heels of Grand Iam and, as a consequence, made contact with Fuhrsty, resulting in Top Spot and Fuhrsty becoming unbalanced. Leaving the 500m Yates Road was steadied when crowded between Zate and Top Spot, which shifted ground. Inside the 200m Leicester Square, which was commencing to give ground, was steadied when crowded between Ultimate Gaze, which was inclined to lay in, and Altonio (R McMahon) which shifted out to improve around the heels of Billet. Both J Penza and R McMahon were advised to exercise more care. In this incident Dawnfire Dancer, which had been held up for clear running, was steadied to avoid the heels of Leicester Square. When questioned regarding the performance of Leicester Square, J Cassidy stated that, whilst the gelding travelled comfortably throughout the event, when placed under pressure, Leicester Square failed to respond to his riding and, in his view, was not comfortable on today s slow track. A post race veterinary examination of Leicester Square did not reveal any abnormalities. Stable representative Mr B Wintel agreed with the explanation offered by J Cassidy and undertook to report back if there is anything amiss with Leicester Square subsequent to the race. When questioned regarding the performance of Top Spot, C Reith stated that the mare was inconvenienced in the early stages when racing back in the field and, when the pace steadied mid race, was inclined to overrace. He added, when endeavouring to improve leaving the 600m, he was unable to improve when held up behind runners and in the circumstances he was not disappointed with the mare s performance. He further stated that Top Spot would be better suited on a bigger track and noted that on return to scale the mare had its tongue over the bit. A post race veterinary examination of Top Spot did not reveal any abnormalities. RACE 3: TJ s Champagne Bar Handicap 1100m: Leaving the 400m Splendid Honours (C Reith) shifted out to improve around Hello Mister, resulting in Snowy On The Tram having to be steadied. C Reith was reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to ensure there is sufficient racing room to improve into. When questioned, K McEvoy, rider of Carski Drum, stated that, after the gelding struck a particularly soft patch approaching the 1200m, his mount did not travel at any stage of the event from that point and, in his view, failed to handle the slow track conditions.

4 CANT 4 A post race veterinary examination of Carski Drum did not reveal any abnormalities. RACE 4: Barcardi Bar Handicap 1250m: Emancipationist jumped awkwardly, shifted in and hampered Platinum Red. Near the 600m Raffles Miss brushed the running rail when racing tight to the inside of Pteryon. Platinum Red was held up for clear running making the home turn. When questioned regarding his riding of Hot Fox, H Bowman stated he had been instructed to be positive on the filly from its wide barrier and, if circumstances allowed, to endeavour to find cover along the back straight where there was a strong head wind. He added, after commencing well and racing in advance of Vantage Point, when T Clark, rider of Vantage Point, looked intent on holding the lead, he initially restrained his mount to come back to race at that runner s girth, however, when he then observed an opportunity to obtain cover on the back of that runner, he elected to restrain to comply with his instructions to gain cover. He further stated that Hot Fox was then inclined to overrace somewhat in the middle stages, but when asked for an effort shortly after straightening was disappointing in its failure to respond to his riding. H Bowman further added that, in his view, Hot Fox was not entirely comfortable on the slow track. When questioned regarding his riding of Raffles Miss in the straight, N Rawiller stated that the filly was not comfortable racing inside Pteryon making the home turn and then, when endeavouring to improve between Pteryon and Shimmering Heights near the 200m his mount was reluctant to improve into that run. He added that, when Pteryon shifted in and crowded his running, he elected to steady his mount and come to the outside of that runner to obtain clear running. He further stated that, once to the outside of Pteryon, Raffles Miss found the line strongly. J Ford, rider of Setta Rocks reported that his mount hung out throughout the event. When questioned, B Avdulla stated that, after commencing awkwardly Emancipationist lost ground at the start, and consequently sat further back than he had anticipated. He added the filly travelled comfortably throughout the early stages, but when placed under pressure near the 300m he became concerned with its action and, after initially testing the filly in the early part of the straight, he desisted testing the filly over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination of Emancipationist did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr G Begg undertook from to report back on the progress of Emancipationist subsequent to the race. RACE 5: Grand Pavilion Handicap 1550m: On jumping Sheazali shifted in and made contact with Valhussle. Shortly after the start Sheazali was steadied when crowded between Judi s Law and Valhussle, which was taken out by Halleys when that runner was awkwardly placed close to the heels of Alli s Aria. Survival brushed the running rail near the 1300m. Near the 1200m Judi s Law was checked when crowded between Nikkirina, which shifted in slightly, and La Comedienne, whilst awkwardly placed close to the heels of Miracle Magic, was taken out when that runner made the turn awkwardly. Miracle Magic had difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn and again over the final 100m could not be fully tested when awkwardly placed between Halleys and Alli s Aria, which commenced to give ground. K McEvoy, rider of Survival, stated that his mount did not handle the slow track conditions. A post race veterinary examination of Survival did not reveal any abnormalities. Stable representative Mr B Widdup undertook to report back on the progress of Survival subsequent to the race.

5 CANT 5 RACE 6: Hyland Race Colours Handicap 1250m: On jumping Pimpala Lass, which was slow to begin, was checked when crowded by Golden Dive, which shifted in away from Excellent Point. Steel Bullet made contact with the outside of its barrier on jumping. App. B Spriggs reported that he had some concerns with the off hind leg of Steel Bullet. A post race veterinary examination of Steel Bullet did not reveal any abnormalities. Bokarina raced ungenerously throughout the early stages and near the 700m got its head up when it shifted in away from Recorrido. On straightening Bokarina was steadied to avoid the heels of Sugera (B Avdulla), which shifted out when not clear. B Avdulla was advised to ensure he is two lengths clear when shifting ground. When questioned, J Ford, rider of Laser Light, stated that he was instructed to take up a forward position, however, the mare failed to show any pace in the early stages despite his efforts and raced further back than intended. He added that Laser Light then did not travel at any stage throughout the race and, after dipping on a number of occasions making the home turn, he eased his mount down in the straight. He added, in his view, the only excuse he could offer for the performance was that Laser Light did not handle the slow track. A post race veterinary examination of Laser Light did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr C Fields will be contacted in respect to the performance of Laser Light. A post race veterinary examination of Golden Dive revealed the gelding to be sore behind. Co-trainer Ms A Turner will be contacted to provide a vet clearance. RACE 7: Guineas Restaurant Handicap 1110m: Trainer Mr D Pfieffer was fined the sum of $50 under AR140B(2) for failing to notify by the prescribed time that Fifth Leg had been fitted with synthetic hoof filler. Let s Misbehave jumped awkwardly and hampered Antidotes, which was slow to begin. I Rule The World jumped awkwardly. Fifth Leg was inclined to race ungenerously throughout the middle stages. A post race veterinary examination of Perfect Silhouette, which was obliged to race wide throughout, did not reveal any abnormalities. GENERAL: Swab samples were taken from all winners and the following runners: Race 1: Four Iron, Rialio, Battle Of Britain. Race 2: Leicester Square, Ultimate Gaze, Fuhrsty, Yates Road, Billet Race 3: Patrician s Glory, Spence (2), Daad s Overtime, Carski Drum. Race 4: Platinum Red, Raffles Miss, Pteryon. Race 5: Judi s Law, Nikkirina, Miracle Magic, Sheazali, Valhussle. Race 6: Bidden, Special Command, Excellent Point. Race 7: Antidotes, Last Day Friday (2), Dublette. SUMMARY Fines: Race 7: Trainer D Pfieffer (Fifth Leg) $50 late notification of gear change (AR140B(2)). Reprimands: Race 3: C Reith (Splendid Honours) careless riding (AR137(a)).
