3 ENTRIES: Entries will be accepted in the order in which they are postmarked and received. Entries will not be accepted by phone. Entries must be postmarked on the opening date or thereafter, up to, and including the closing date. Entries received after the closing date will be charged a $25 post entry fee. Payment to Lake Erie College is due with entries. Cash, check, and credit cards accepted (credit card payments must be done online only at Entries without payment will not be accepted. Stalls will be assigned first come-first served. Stabling may be limited. Show Committee reserves the right to limit entries, limit the classes per horse, to add, divide, or cancel classes, or make necessary changes as required by circumstances of the competition. Each entry must be signed by the rider or an adult if the rider is a minor. STABLING: (Bedding NOT provided - shavings available for purchase). Permanent box stalls and vinyl temporary stalls with doors (minimum 10 x 10), both under roof, are $ for the weekend or $35.00 for a day stall (no overnight), if available. Stallions, horses over 17 hands, and entries showing for entire weekend will be given preference for permanent stalls. Please pre-order shavings on entry form ($9.00 per bag if ordered with entry and $10.00 per bag if ordered later). Horses may arrive on Thursday March 28, 2019 at 9 am. COGGINS: Certificate of negative Coggins listing horse s recorded show name (within 12 months of show date) required. Show numbers and stabling will not be issued without current Coggins. 7 HUNTER / EQUITATION CLASS DESCRIPTIONS *BOTH H/J Winter Show (CANCELLED) and Prix de Villes* Hunter Over Fences: To be shown over approximately eight fences at the required height. To be judged on performance over the jumps and way of going. Hunter Under Saddle: To be shown at a walk, trot and canter. Light contact with the horse s mouth is required. Martingales are not permitted. Blue Ribbon/Red Ribbon Schooling Hunter: Horse and ponies will be judged and given a numeric score. Scores of will earn a blue ribbon. Scores of will earn a red ribbon. Blue/Red classes will remain open all day in front of hunter classes. There is no limit on the number of times a rider/horse combination can enter this class. Fence heights will be set according to what is showing at the time. HUNTER CLASS DESCRIPTIONS *BOTH H/J Schooling Show (CANCELLED) and Prix de Villes* Baby Green Hunter: Open to horses with limited experience that have not shown in classes where the fences exceed 3. Fence Height 2 3 Very Green Hunter: Open to horses and ponies in their first year of showing over fences at 2 6. Horses and ponies may not cross enter into any class with fences higher than 3 at the same show and may only receive points in this section for one year. Fence Height 2 6 Green Hunter: A Green Hunter is a horse of any age in its first or second year of showing over 3' to 3'3" fences. Fences not to exceed 3'3". Horses may only compete in one height section at a show but may alternate from one show to another. Once a horse has shown 3'6", he is not eligible to compete in the Green division, regardless of age. Fence Height 3' (Section 1), 3'3" (Section 2) Open Hunter: Open to all horses and ponies regardless of age and status. To be judged on performance and soundness. Fence Height 3 3 Low Adult Hunter: Open to amateur riders. Cross entry between the Low Adult section and the Amateur Owner section is prohibited. Fences 2 6. Low Adult Flat Equitation: Open to all riders eligible for the Low Adult Hunter section. Adult Amateur Hunter: Horses to be ridden by amateurs. Riders may not compete in any other classes at the same competition where fences exceed 3 5 (Equitation, Jumper classes 1.20 m and lower, Amateur Owner Hunter, Amateur Owner Jumper classes). Any rider showing in the Amateur Owner Hunter or Amateur Owner Jumper division may compete with 1 different horse in the Adult Amateur Hunter division and must own or have a USEF lease of said horse. Adult Amateur Flat Equitation: Open to all riders eligible for the Adult Amateur Hunter section.

Junior/Amateur Owner Hunter: Horses to be ridden by a Junior rider or an Amateur Owner, per OPHA/WPaPHA rules. Fences 3 3. Junior/Amateur Owner Flat Equitation: Open to all riders eligible for Junior/Amateur Owner Hunter section. Low Children s Hunter: To be ridden by a junior exhibitor. Riders may not cross enter into any class on the same horse in which fences exceed 2 6 or in any class where fences exceed 3ʹ3. Fence Height 2 6 Low Children s Flat Equitation: Open to all riders eligible for the Low Children s Hunter section. Fox Smith/NAHRA Medal Open to Junior and Amateur riders. To be shown over a minimum of eight fences 2 9 to 3 in height, spreads not to exceed fence height. The course may be either a hunter or jumper type and must include at least two changes of direction and a combination. Water obstacles are not permitted. A numerical score must be announced at the completion of the first round. Top four riders are required to return for further testing. There is no minimum requirement to fill the class. Hopeful Hunter: Open to horses in their first and second year of showing with limited experience. Fence Height 18 Low Hunter: Open to any horse rider combination. All classes will be judged on performance & soundness. Fence Height 2 9 to 3 Short Stirrup: Open to riders 12 years of age and under. Riders may not cross enter into any other OPHA recognized section at the same show except age appropriate under saddle classes. Fences 2, oxers and in & outs not permitted. Short Stirrup Flat Equitation: Open to all riders eligible for the Short Stirrup Hunter section. Open to ponies and horses. Riders will ride a traditional hunter type course which may include: banks, ditches, in and out, and bending lines. Each rider will compete at their designated height (2 3, 2 6, and 2 9 ) and the entire class will be pinned as one. Round 1 will be similar to a hunter classic type course. The top 10 placed in round 1 will come back to be judged in round 2. Round 2 will be a Handy Hunter type course. Ribbons will be given through 6th place. 50% of the total entry money will be divided as prize money through six places (30%, 25%, 20%, 12%, 8%, 5%). Class 61: The Schneider Saddlery Open Performance Hunter Derby: Saturday afternoon not to start before 1:00pm Entry Fee: $60.00 Riders will ride a traditional hunter type course which may include: banks, ditches, in and out, and bending lines. Each rider will compete at their designated height (3, 3 3, 3 6 ) and the entire class will be pinned as one. Round 1 will be similar to a hunter classic type course. 11 51 st Annual Prix de Villes of North America Prix de Villes Team Information 1 st round 9:00 am minute break between Round 1 and Round 2 2 nd round - following the break Entry Fee: $ per rider/horse Every Prix team with 4 team horses stabled for the weekend gets one free tack stall! Class 91: Emerging Team: 2 3, 2 6 for Jump off Class 92: Low Team: 2 9, 3 for Jump off Class 93: High Team: 3 3, 3 6 for Jump off Open to Junior and Amateur riders. Each team may include only one professional rider. Open to any horse. Amateurs must present current USEF Amateur card. A team consists of four riders and four horses with the three best scores to count. A fifth horse may be used as an alternate in case of injury to a horse during the first round; alternate horse must be listed for the team prior to Saturday competition. In case of an injury to a rider, team goes with three riders and three horses. A rider may ride on more than one team; however, rider must ride a different horse. A horse may be ridden on one team only. A limited number of individual entries will be accepted. From these entries, teams of four will be formed by drawing on Friday at 7:00 p.m. during Exhibitor s Party located at the George M. Humphrey Equestrian Center. Odd entries may compete individually. Entries may be limited. In Memory of Chuck Kinney The Charles E. Kinney, Jr. Jumper Style Award Sponsored by Lake Erie College The Charles E. Kinney Jumper Style Award is to be decided by the jumper judge based on the following criteria: To be presented to the jumper rider who exhibits the best classical jumper style of riding throughout the jumper classes. This award will not necessarily be given to the rider accumulating the most points in the Jumper division. Rider Sash and trophy by Lake Erie College. Heritage Trophy sponsored by Lake Erie College.
12 HUNTER DERBY HANDWALKING AND SCHOOLING Schooling in the warm up ring only for the Hunter Derby. After course set for Hunter Derby, 15 minutes will be offered for hand walking and course walking only. Management may limit the number of schooling horses permitted in the warmup ring at one time. ORDER OF GO Coaches must show order of go for their teams on the entry blank. Teams will go as drawn by representatives or a show official. Drawing will be held on Friday, shortly after 7pm at Exhibitors Party. For the first round the first rider from each team will go first, etc. The order of go for the final round will be determined by the total team faults accumulated during the first round and the team with the greatest number of faults will go first. For the second round, the number of teams may be limited to 8 teams per division, except where ties need to be broken. AWARDS PRESENTATION A Formal Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday afternoon following the last ride. The top 3 teams in each division are requested to participate on foot in show attire. The Charles E. Kinney Jumper Style Award will be presented during this time. PARADE OF TEAMS The Parade of Teams will take place prior to the start of the Prix de Villes Team Jumper competition. All teams are asked to be present on foot in full show attire. Photographs will be taken. SCORING FOR TEAMS USEF Table 2.2(a). Best three performances out of four to count for each team. Scores from both rounds will be totaled and the team with fewest faults will win. TIES FOR TEAMS In case of equality of faults for first, second, or third place, one Junior or Amateur from each team in the tie (to be chosen by coach) will compete in the jump off. If there is an equality of faults in the jump off, the rider with the best time will win. Riders for all teams in the jump off must be chosen before the first rider in the jump off begins. INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS The individual champion will be a Junior or Amateur rider who has accumulated the least number of faults in the two rounds of team competition. In case of ties for first, second, or third place, there will be a jump-off over a shortened course. In the event of equality of faults, time will be the deciding factor. If there is a rider completing for individual championship that is also chosen as the rider to break the tie for the team, the rider will only jump off once. That jump-off score will count as the individual and team score.

At least three teams in a division must complete the course in order for add-back money to apply. 30%, 25%, 20%, 12%, 8%, 5%. Lake Erie College has added $2,500 of additional prize money to the Jumper Team competition. $2,500 added prize money will be distributed among team members and pay to 6 places according to the table below. Team prize money will be split between team members. 14 FOR BOTH SHOWS: The lighted outdoor arena will be open for lunging and flat schooling during show hours, weather permitting. The hunt field will be closed at all times. GENERAL SCHOOLING March HJ Winter Show: Schooling in the main ring will be available Friday from 12pm-8pm. Open schooling will be available Saturday 6:00 am 7:30 am and Sunday, 7:00-8:30 am. HJ Prix de Villes: Schooling in the warm up ring will be open on Thursday from 12:00pm-4:30pm with limited jumps available and in the competition ring from 7:00 8:00 pm after the course is set. Friday schooling in the competition ring will be from 9am-11:30am. Schooling will also be available Saturday from 6am-7:30am and Sunday from 7am-8:30am. LUNGING Lunging permitted in warm-up arena during schooling, and on competition mornings until 7:30 am except for Sunday, March 31. Lunging Sunday morning March 31 will be permitted in the warm-up arena from 6:00am-7:00am. ARENA AND FOOTING Sand in both indoor warm-up (70 x 120 ) and main show arena (100 x 250 ) Footing preparation and consulting at Lake Erie College provided by Field Specialties, David Frey ARRIVING AT SHOW GROUNDS Trucks and trailers must use the Pinecrest Road entrance. Stalls will be available on Friday March 22 at 8 am and Thursday March 28 at 9 am. Before unloading your horses, please check in at the reception desk in the lobby of the Learning Center. Proof of a current negative Coggins is required for all horses arriving on the property. Daily haul in fee applies to all horses on the property without a stall. SADDLERY AND EQUIPMENT: According to USEF rules. ATTIRE Riders are required to be uniformly dressed in conservative attire of dark blue, dark green, dark gray, black, or scarlet coats (if entitled). ASTM-SEI approved helmets required for all riders. CREDENTIALS All exhibitors in any Amateur section must present their Amateur cards at the office before numbers will be released. No numbers will be released until proper credentials and all signatures are in order. Please make sure that your entry form is properly completed. FOOD CONCESSION Provided by Metz Food Service Open in lower lobby of the Learning Center during show hours. Hours posted. OTHER: Management reserves the right to raise or lower fences, and to cancel or combine classes as competition warrants. In some classes the area of the courtesy circle may be restricted by a mandatory line. This line will be indicated on the course diagram, and a corresponding barrier will be erected in the ring. All under saddle classes are to be shown at the walk, trot, and canter both ways of the ring. Light contact with the horse's mouth is required.
15 ASTM/SEI approved headgear required for all riders and must be worn while mounted Lake Erie College and its employees will not be held responsible for loss or damage to persons, property, or horse Smoking in designated areas only. No Smoking in any buildings or stables All dogs must be leashed. Dogs are not allowed in the Learning Center, with the exception of credentialed service animals. (Dog not on leash will be fined $50) Competition management may fine any individuals including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments Sharps disposal containers are available in the following locations: wash rack in the boarder barn, temp stall area by south door (door facing arena), in the middle isle of the school barn outside wash racks. DIRECTIONS: The Equestrian Center is about 30 miles east of Cleveland. Take I-90 to St. Rt. 44 South, Exit 200. Four lane highway will become two lanes. At traffic light, turn right on to Girdled Rd. Within 1 mile, road bears right onto Hermitage Rd. Approximately 3/10 miles, turn left onto Pinecrest Rd. Trailer entrance to the Equestrian Center is ½ mile on the right.
