By way of example, maybe that 50/1 colt is in a big hurry because he has a hot fillie waiting for him back at the barn so please stick with me if there are a few speed-bumps along the way.) This analysis is prepared under the reasonable assumption that (i) all turf races will be run on a firm turf track, and (ii) all dirt races will be run on a track graded fast. THE FOLLOWING ARE TODAY S FREE SELECTIONS (RACES 1, 2 and 3): RACE 1: Sturdy One just won here at race distance ( RD ) this past April, she has plenty of experience at RD and more often than not hits the board, she closes her races well and carries a top-drawer rider today, be careful S Y Sky is the M/L favorite, as the fillie has won two of three lifetime races, those wins coming in a dirt sprint and a dirt route, her exercise is workmanlike and her lineage suggests that she will take to the turf, but perhaps if it ain t broke don t fix it? : I guess I know nothing about training a horse. Longstocking closes her turf races well, has hit the board in eight of her last eleven, often shows up and will likely do so in this spot. RACE 2: Liberation has done his best work at sprint distances, to which he now returns, his works are excellent and he looks good in this spot. Blame Joe, the M/L favorite, is such because he moves far down in class, and marries top rider and trainer, look for him to vie. Clifton Beach would have been my third rated horse, except that the colt just raced nine days ago, so I cannot get behind him, proceed at your own risk. Instead, Lymebyrd makes the precipitous and propitious class drop out of MSW, sports excellent works and carries a top-notch rider, he could surprise. RACE 3: Perfectly Magic is the deserving M/L favorite, he kills RD and adores the avuncular yet sophisticated crowd at Santa Anita (on board 8/11 times on the grass here), he closes his races quite efficiently and today carries a quintessential Left Coast rider, Rafael Bejarano, to boot. Tiz a Billy also kills RD and this venue as well, he too closes his races well and has hit the board in nine of his last twelve

4 races, he will be dueling with the leader for certain.
