1 NZCHA AMENDMENTS TO NCHA RULE BOOK (Amended September 2014) Every effort has been taken to ensure the NCHA Australia Rule Book is adjusted correctly for New Zealand rules. However, the NZCHA has the right to add, alter or delete further rules which do not comply with the New Zealand conditions. As per the NZCHA Constitution rule 16: The NZCHA Council shall have full power to direct and manage all affairs of the Association and from time to time as they think fit to make alter or repel any by-laws for the good government thereof provided always that no by-law shall be inconsistent with any of the General Rules. Rule 17: The decision of the Council on the construction of or interpretation of any Rule or By- Law shall be conclusive and binding on all members or the Association until set aside or varied a specially convened meeting of the Association All references to Australia or Commonwealth of Australia now mean New Zealand All references to NCHA now mean NZCHA Any references to an Australian place now mean a place as designated by the NZCHA OFFICERS: THE NZCHA IS RUN ACCORDING TO THE NZCHA Constitution. Professional trainers will not be eligible to compete in Snafflebit classes. Points won in a Snafflebit class will accumulate to determine a competitors eligibility for that class, but will not count towards LTE or the status of the Rider. Money earned in Snafflebit classes will be applied to all future classes. Once a rider who is eligible to compete in Snafflebit classes competes in a Non Pro class or Novice/Open horse class, that rider is no longer eligible to compete in a Snafflebit class. There is a limit of two horses that may be ridden in this class; however only the points from the highest earning horse will count towards high point awards. Riders who have entered two other cutting events at the same show are not eligible for this event. (I.E. A rider may rider in the Rookie and the Restricted, but nothing else; one Non Pro event and the Restricted but nothing else; Novice Horse or Open Horse and the Restricted but nothing else). Riders are limited to one horse for this event. All Points gained in this event will count against LTE in Snafflebit, Rookie and Non Pro events. (This event is to encourage people to keep showing, giving them a second class at a show, as well as an event for the show workers to get in the pen for a cut, family members sharing a horse etc). Entries can be accepted on the day if sufficient cattle are available and it will be acceptable to use re-run cattle for this event). Open, Novice and Open Non Pro classes with more than 6 entries, 2 initial go rounds are to be held with the top 6 competitor going through to a third go round. 11 *Option for all other classes, for third go round to be aggregated after go rounds paid out to 6 places, if there are 7 or more entries. (placing to 4 th will apply for less than 7 entries) * Aggregate place getters will receive NZCHA ribbons. The highest aggregate in each class will be the NZCHA National Hi Point Champions and will also receive a NZCHA Buckle (except Snaffle Bits) and a NZCHA perpetual trophy to be presented at a time arranged by the Show Committee. Champion certificates will be issued when ready. (NB some classes contested at the National Finals may not have met the qualifying criteria and no National Champion Titles will be awarded in those classes) *Qualification -Competitors must qualify to attend the NZCHA National Finals by competing in rider events (Non Pro, Rookie, Restricted, Youth) at a minimum of five (5) approved shows prior to closing date for entries of the NZCHA National Finals. Competitors may apply to the NZCHA Council for dispensation in issues of injury or illness. - - For a horse to qualify for a horse event it must have competed in Open Horse, Novice Horse or Snaffle Bit classes at a minimum of five (5) approved shows. -If a competitor rides a Novice horse in the Aged events at the National Futurity (they would be deemed to have one novice horse credit toward the National show qualification). If a competitors, rider event is not held at the futurity show and they elect to compete in a higher rider event, they will be deemed to have one nominated rider event credit towards the Nationals show Qualification, as well as the event they competed in ". -If any event (class) has not been contested during the current show season at five (5) approved shows by any financial members; it will become a non-valid event (class) at the National Finals for a National Title. Any members entering these non-valid classes at the National Finals will only be contesting for ribbons and prize money. -If South Island cannot host the required number of shows, the South Island club/s could (on behalf of its members) request dispensation to the rule. *Two qualified judges according to the rule book must judge the National Finals or one International Judge approved by their National Association. *Suitable sound system must be present *Video of events is recommended to support the SAMS judging system.
