2 Other Comments / Explanations: All horses engaged in todays jumping events were examined prior to competing by an RVL Veterinary Surgeon. Race 1 HELLOWORLD PORTLAND CLASS 1 HURDLE metres: Red Rossa Jumped the eighth obstacle awkwardly. Raced at the rear throughout. Retired from the event leaving the 600m and failed to negotiate the final two obstacles. Rider P Hamblin reported the gelding jumped well however was under pressure some distance from the finish. Lost near front plate. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. The performance of Red Rossa will be referred to the Jumps Review Panel. Shinksy Jumped the sixth obstacle awkwardly. Was retired from the event near the 400m and failed to negotiate the final two obstacles. Rider B Small reported the gelding was unable to quicken when placed under pressure. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. The performance of Shinsky will be referred to the Jumps Review Panel. Shearer- Jumped the first obstacle awkwardly. Zanteco Raced wide through the middle stages before crossing to obtain the lead near the 1600m. Gold Medals Jumped the seventh obstacle awkwardly. Hornets Nest Jumped the seventh obstacle awkwardly. Jumped the tenth obstacle awkwardly. Track downgraded to Heavy 9 at 1pm retrospective to race 1 and following persistent rain throughout the morning. Race 2 HEYWOOD HARDWARE MAIDEN HURDLE metres: Lennybe Pulled up at the entrance to the straight and failed to negotiate the final two obstacles. Rider T Ryan reported the gelding was not suited by the heavy track conditions. A post race veterinary examination revealed post race coughing. The performance of Lennybe will be referred to the Jumps Review Panel. Space Invader Made a faulty jump at the sixth obstacle unbalancing rider M Kelly and shortly after was retired from the event. Rider M Kelly reported after making a mistake the gelding was out of contention so he elected to retire his mount. A post race veterinary examination revealed post race coughing. The performance of Space Invader will be referred to the Jumps Review Panel.

3 Street Outlaw Made a faulty jump at the final obstacle and fell. Rider R Cully reported the gelding jumped well throughout and cleared the second last obstacle. R Cully acknowledged his mount that was having its first jumps start, was tiring in the heavy track conditions and he considered retiring the gelding however was aware that Dornale was racing to his outside and he felt there was insufficient room to pull his mount up. A post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off hind pastern. The incident will be referred to the Jumps Review Panel. Rider R Cully was examined by the doctor and will require a medical clearance prior to riding again. Taminga Fractious in the barriers. Made a faulty jump at the final obstacle and almost fell losing considerable ground. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Millusion Beach Settled outside the leader. Retired from the event after clearing the eighth obstacle and failed to negotiate the final three obstacles. Rider R Eynon reported he was instructed to ride the mare forward and attempt to have his mount settle. R Eynon reported the mare jumped well however lacked fitness. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal recovery. The performance of Millusion Beach will be referred to the Jumps Review Panel. Dornale Lost off hind plate. Salisbury Jumped the second obstacle awkwardly. Tough Vintage - Jumped the fifth obstacle awkwardly. Race 3 MG TRADING HEYWOOD BM64 HANDICAP metres: Montre Raced wide with cover. Performed below market expectations. Rider L Meech reported that once the gelding was unable to lead, it failed to respond to her riding. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Jonjonjonny Slow to muster speed from the start. Trainers representative Shane Turnham was severely reprimanded under the provisions of LR 47C after he took the gelding into the horse urinal approximately 15 minutes prior to the advertised start time. S Turnham explained he had been instructed by trainer P Hardacre who was not in attendance, to take the gelding on two occasions to the urinal stall prior to racing. Stewards will follow up with P Hardacre in the coming days. Publisher Raced wide and without cover. Red Casino Led. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages. Ogunde Approaching the finish was steadied by rider D Yendall when tightened between Kapscero and Jonjonjonny that shifted out when inconvenienced by Red Casino that in turn shifted out.

4 Race 4 ballarat jumps festival aug steelplechase metres: Lucky Tonight Trainer S Houston was fined $200 for failing to have in her possession identification papers for the gelding that was having its first Australian race start. Commenced awkwardly. Jumped the last obstacle awkwardly. Twin Tea Bags Slow to begin and settled at the rear. Jumped the fourteenth obstacle awkwardly. Tactics and performance queried. Rider B McLean reported he had anticipated settling in a more forward position however after commencing slowly, settled further back. B McLean added the gelding was not overly comfortable in todays heavy track conditions however did jump well. B McLean highlighted he put his mount into the race down the back straight on the final occasion however the gelding was soon under pressure and he had considered pulling his mount up prior to the final obstacle. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Post race swab samples were also collected. Finley Harper Jumped the fifteenth obstacle awkwardly. Was retired from the event approaching the eighteenth obstacle. Rider S Jackson reported after the mare contacted two fences his mount failed to respond to his riding and was under pressure. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. The performance of Finley Harper will be referred to the Jumps Review Panel. Mystery Bang Retired from the event prior to the fourteenth obstacle. Rider M Kelly reported the gelding was out of contention and not responding to his riding. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. The performance of Mystery Bang will be referred to the Jumps Review Panel. Subsequent to the event connections advised the gelding would now be retired from racing. Gold A Plenty Jumped the eighth obstacle awkwardly. Gotta Cellarbrate Jumped the seventeenth obstacle awkwardly. Race 5 heywood, wood, wine & roses cup bm64 handicap metres: Firenze Change of tactics. To be ridden more forward from barrier one. Settled handy with cover. Whincup Raced wide through the early stages before crossing to obtain a position outside the leader approaching the 1300m. Performed below market expectations. Rider M Julius stated that in her opinion the gelding was not suited by todays heavy track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Tons of Dash Commenced awkwardly and shifted in bumping Get Out Of Town, before then shifting out and hampering Manny. Held up from the 600m until straightening inside the 300m. Manny Hampered at the start between Tons Of Dash and Just Call Me Bruce

5 Just Call Me Bruce Commenced awkwardly. Leaving the front straight near the 1500m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Hard Ticker that shifted in. Lay in under pressure. Get Out of Town Raced wide and without cover. Lost its off hind plate. One For Later Settled one out one back. Approaching the 700m was forced wider on the course by Firenze that shifted out to improve its position. Shifted out under pressure in the straight. Rider J Eaton was questioned and spoken to advisedly regarding her riding of the mare near the 700m where forced wide. While it was noted One For Later was bumped by Firenze that shifted out, the Panel were of the opinion a run presented for Firenze when One For Later was not maintaining a true one off position. Chu Chu Charlie Lay out under pressure over the concluding stages. Blue Ash Settled towards the rear. Tactics queried. Rider C Puls reported the mare was under pressure throughout the event and did not have the sufficient speed in the early stages to take up a more forward position. She added the mare would be better suited over a distance greater than todays event and a bigger track. Race 6 heywood stock feeds bm58 handicap metres: The start was delayed 11 minutes when an on course patron required urgent medical attention. Princely Blaze Change of tactics. To be ridden more forward circumstances permitting. Settled one out one back. Winter Solace Commenced awkwardly and shifted out inconveniencing Summers Day. Raced wide and without cover throughout. Rider G Cartwright reported that she had been instructed to lead and after jumping away fairly, had to work hard early and for this reason the horse failed to finish off as expected. A post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off hind coronet. Cameron Road H McKechnie reported the gelding hung out throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Gods Tilla Settled outside the leader. Performed below market expectations. Rider C Hall reported the gelding failed to travel throughout the event and in her opinion did not handle todays heavy track conditions. A post race veterinary examination revealed coughing and abrasions on both hind legs however no other significant abnormalities. Kay Jayem Led. Tactics queried. Rider K Walters reported it had not been her intention to lead and she anticipated settling behind the leader who she expected to be Spartypants. K Walters added her mount began well and raced keenly. K Walters also noted the gelding had led in previous preparations. Her comments were noted.

6 Spartypants Settled behind the leader. Passing the 250m shied at the rail when racing tight to the inside of Gods Tilla that shifted in marginally. Rider C Hall (Gods Tilla) was spoken to advisedly. Race 7 bendigo bank heywood bm58 handicap metres: The start was delayed seven minutes due to previous event starting late. Bassons Marginally slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn. Dancing Boy Tightened shortly after the start between Saucy Mary and Pillar Of Destiny that shifted out after being brushed by Raj Mahal. Settled towards the rear. Tactics and performance queried. Rider D Yendall reported it had been his intention to settle in a one out one back position with cover however the gelding failed to respond to his riding in the early stages. D Yendall added his mount also had a tendency to initially hang in and never travelled in todays track conditions. D Yendall highlighted he attempted to put his mount into the race between the 600m and 500m however he was only able to sustain a short run and added the gelding may have choked down. A post race veterinary examination revealed coughing and slow recovery. Post race swab samples were also collected. Raj Mahal Raced three wide throughout. Saucy Mary Raced four wide throughout. Our Freckles Shortly after straightening obtained a neat run to the inside of Trial Ground where there was barely sufficient room and brushed the rail. Rider C Hall was spoken to advisedly. Pillar of Destiny Officially placed fifth. Rider L Meech was questioned regarding her riding of the gelding over the latter stages and in particular if she fully rode her mount through to the finish. L Meech highlighted inside the 100m she was inconvenienced by Charnzel to her outside that shifted in and was conscious of Shark Shuffle racing tight to her inside. Her explanation was accepted.
