Class Descriptions Ashley Hall McBee House Cup Jump a 2 6 course. May be called back for flat work. Open to all Ashley Hall students who have jumped 2 6 and over at a horse show.

4 Class Descriptions Ashley Hall McBee House Cup Jump a 2 6 course. May be called back for flat work. Open to all Ashley Hall students who have jumped 2 6 and over at a horse show. (May not cross-enter into any other Ashley Hall Cups) Ashley Hall Jenkins Hall Cup Jump a 2 course. May be called back for flat work. Open to all Ashley Hall students who have jumped 2 but have not exceeded 2 6 at a horse show. (May not cross-enter into any other Ashley Hall Cups) Ashley Hall Emily Ravenel Farrow Alumnae Cup Open to all Ashley Hall Alumnae. Section A is a walk/trot. Section B is a 2 6 course with flatwork or a test. Ashley Hall Lane Hall Cup Walk/Trot/Canter. Open to all Ashley Hall students who have not jumped 2 at a horse show. (May not cross-enter into any other Ashley Hall Cups) Ashley Hall Pardue Hall Cup Walk/Trot. Open to all Ashley Hall students who have never cantered at a horse show (May not cross-enter into any other Ashley Hall Cups) Palmetto Medal Classes Open to junior riders who have not yet reached their 18th birthday. Horses to jump 3, ponies to jump 2 for small, 2 3 for medium, 2 9 for large over a modified hunter course. Only one rider per horse or pony. Junior & Pony medal to be held only once each per weekend. To be judged on seat, hands, guidance and control of the horse or pony. Three riders needed to fill the class. One fourth of the exhibitors, or no less than 2 exhibitors, must return for testing. The testing shall count 25%. Riders may not compete once they have won the Medal Finals. Must be a member. Palmetto Junior Medal 3 Mary Ann Parmelee Pony Medal Sm - 2, Med - 2 3, Lrg Ashley Hall is a premier college preparatory school for girls and young women that offers a rigorous academic program based on the traditions of classical education. Training begins in the primary grades with grammar, rhetoric, and logic, when our youngest students are taught literally how to learn as well as to think and express themselves in the written and spoken word. In upper grades, students learn an appreciation for and an understanding of the humanities, arts, and sciences. Ashley Hall seniors graduate with a global and cultural awareness that will serve them well in our increasingly interconnected world, and they are prepared to learn, lead and excel in future avenues of opportunity. We offer admission to girls and young women who are bright, eager and willing to challenge themselves both academically and personally. We value students who are concerned for others and who strive for excellence in all aspects of life. The proceeds of the Ashley Hall Horse Show support the Ashley Hall Riding program and our Equestrian team (pictured below) which competes in SCISA Equestrian. Jimmy Wofford Adult Class Open to Senior members of the SCHJA, to run in conjunction with Adult Equitation classes at rated shows. The top 15 riders who accumulate the most points in the Adult Equitation Division by Year-End will be invited to compete in the Palmetto Adult Medal finals at the Palmetto Finals Year End Horse Show. PSJ Junior Medal Open to junior members of PSJ. To be shown over a course of no less than eight jumps. The course must include two oxers and two changes of direction. To be judged on position and control of mount. A test may be included in the initial round or at the judge s discretion; tests 1-19 may be used and will count 25%. Three competitors must complete the course for points to be awarded. The top 15 riders at the end of the year will qualify to compete in the medal finals. Fences 3 PSJ Pony Medal Open to junior members of PSJ. To be shown over a course of no less than eight jumps. To be judged on position and control of mount. A test may be included in the initial round or the judge may select additional testing on the flat, which will count 25%. Three competitors must complete the course for points to be awarded. The top 15 riders at the end of the year will qualify for the medal finals. Fences 2 for smalls, 2 3" for mediums, and 2 9" for larges. PSJ Adult Medal Open to adult and amateur members of PSJ. To be shown over a course of no less than eight jumps. The course must include two oxers and two changes of direction. To be judged on position and control of mount. A test may be included in the initial round or at the judge s discretion; tests 1-19 may be used and will count 25%. Three competitors must complete the course for points to be awarded. Crossrails Open to junior and adult amateur exhibitors in their first or second year of jumping. Long Stirrup Open to riders who turned thirteen before Dec. 1, 2015, in their 1st or 2nd year of showing over fences exceeding 18 in height. May not cross-enter into any classes where height exceeds 2 6. Fences: 2' Short Stirrup Open to junior riders 12 years old and younger in their first or second year of showing over fences exceeding 18 in height. May not cross enter into classes where height exceeds 2 6 Fences: 2 Pre-Child/Pre-Adult Equitation and Hunter Fences 2 6. Horse/rider combination can t cross enter into classes where heights exceed 2 6 Children and Adult Amateur Hunter Fences 2 9. To be judged on performance, soundness, manners, way of going, size of rider to mount, with suitability to be emphasized. 11 and under Equitation 2 3 Open to junior riders who have not yet reached their twelfth birthday by Dec. 1, Equitation 2 6 To be ridden by a junior who turned twelve before December 1, 2016 and had not yet turned fifteen by December 1, Equitation 3 To be ridden by a junior who turned fifteen before December 1, 2016 and had not reached their eighteenth birthday by December 1, Small Pony Hunter Medium Pony Hunter Large Pony Hunter Fences 2 (12.2 hh and under) Fences 2 3" (over 12.2hh to 13.2hh) Fences 2 9" (over 13.2hh to 14.2hh) $1500 SCHJA Hunter Derby Series sponsored by The Tack Room First round to be conducted over an elaborate course of jumps resembling the Hunt Field. Fences will be set at 2'9" to 3' with the exception of the four option fences which will be set at 3'3". No more than 50% of the course will be set at 3'. Will include verticals and oxers. Four option jumps will be used in the course, with 1 Bonus point offered for each option jump. Full description of SCHJA Hunter Derby Specs can be found online at Order of go will be drawn and posted one hour prior to the start of the class. A second round for the top ten scoring horses will proceed starting with the lowest scoring of the ten and finishing with the top scoring horse. Formal attire required. Best Child Rider on a Horse/Pony Best Child Rider on a Horse: 3 Best Child Rider on a Horse: 2 6 Best Child Rider on a Pony Proceeds from this class will support AH Riding Club s chosen equine-related charities.

6 Rules and Regulations 1. Stall fees and reservation forms must be included with entries and may be paid by deposit of check or credit card. Class fees may be paid at the end of the show, but numbers will not be issued without a signed open check or credit card form lodged with the horse show secretary. 2. Full refunds will be given before the closing date of the stalls. After the closing date of the stalls, stall fees are not refundable. 3. Fire regulations prohibit ALL vehicles, including trailers, vans and campers from being parked in the stable area during the show. 4. All dogs must be on a leash at all times while on the show grounds. Unrestrained dogs create a serious safety hazard for exhibitors and their horses, and are subject to impoundment and a $100 fine. 5. NO lunging permitted in the show rings. Lunging only available in designated areas. 6. Everyone must wear properly fitting ASTM protective headgear, with harness secured, while riding on the show grounds. 7. Proof of negative Coggins test is required to bring any horse onto the show grounds. No exceptions! 8. Parent(s) or guardian(s) of a minor child shall hold the horse show management, Ashley Hall School and the facility harmless for any injury to such minor. No minor child s entry will be accepted or number issued unless entry is signed by a parent or legal guardian. The signature of unrelated persons WILL NOT be accepted.
