Silk is another purchase we made from Indian Creek Simmentals when they were in the process of switching to a more commercial based herd. We bought Silk on her pedigree alone. It is kind of hard to turn down a donor cow with one of the most proven and consistent genotypes in the breed. Although our expectations were high, we did not expect her to give us the boost she has given our program. Just last fall at the Field Of Dreams Sale, her Uprising heifer commanded $14,000 and resold 3 days later for $20,000.
