2 Required Paperwork and Forms FAX ALL REQUIRED RELEASE PAPERS, TO: MUST BE RECEIVED 4 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR COURSE Medical History/Emergency Contact o You need to fill out the medical history form and fax it in to us as soon as possible. Also, we need you to provide a name and phone number of who we may call in case of an emergency along with any medical considerations you may have. We have included a form for this information. Agreement and Liability Release o We have a standard liability release form included in this packet to be signed, witnessed, dated and faxed in to us as soon as possible. Horse Vaccination Records (copy) o Please send or fax a copy of your horse s passport and vaccination record. YOU MUST BRING YOUR HORSES ORIGINAL PASSPORT WITH YOU FOR YOUR STAY. PR Release o We have also included a separate form to be signed and faxed back to us giving Parelli permission to use photographs of you for our Public Relations purposes. You are free to take as many photos as you like! Please keep in mind that these photos are meant to be for your personal use only, not for commercial purposes or public viewing. You are not authorized to publish or display any photos taken of Pat, Linda, the staff, any one else or anything at the Parelli Center without written permission from Parelli Natural Horse Man Ship and the person (or people) in the photo. You have already signed agreement to this on your Parelli Center Application when you sent it in to the Parelli office headquarters. Please no video cameras. I AM AWARE THAT ACTIVITIES INVOLVING HORSES CAN BE A HAZARDOUS ACTIVITY AND I AM VOLUNTARILY PARTICIPAT- ING IN THESE ACTIVITIES WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE DANGER INVOLVED, HEREBY AGREE TO ACCEPT ANY AND ALL RISKS OF PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, AND VERIFY THESE STATEMENTS BY PLACING MY INITIALS HERE:. 6 Plans for Arrival You must check in between 9.00 and noon. This will then give you time to settle your horse and join us for lunch. Orientation is at in the classroom. Please call if you expect any delays. Thank you. Check-In Check-Out Check in is 9.00am-12noon on the same day as your course begins. Sometimes things happen and you may be running late. Please call us on to let us know if you are not able to be here by 12noon. Lunch is available on the first day from 12noon. On arriving at Stoneleigh Park, enter the park through the main entrance and then take an immediate right. Follow the Parelli signs. You will be greeted by one of our team and will be shown to the stables area and car park. Our team is here to help you and your horse settle in whether this is your first trip with your horse or your hundreth! We understand that you (and your horse) can be excited and nervous at the same time. Orientation Orientation will start at 14.30pm in the Classroom, without your horse. Our classroom is located upstairs to our Parelli office. We are located along 10th Street in Stoneleigh Park. Come on up the stairs and help yoursef to a cup of tea or coffee, relax and unwind! Check out will take place between and on the second Friday of your course. You are asked to vacate the stables by on the Friday unless you are staying on for the next course. Directions Situated conveniently between major motorways, Stoneleigh Park is located just off the A46 dual carriageway which links the M40 (junction 15) with the M69 and the M6 (junction 2). The entrance to Stoneleigh Park is on the B4113, Stoneleigh Road between Coventry and Leamington Spa which is accessed from the A46 following the signs for Stoneleigh Park, National Agricultural Centre or NAC or from the A45 following the signs for Stoneleigh. As you drive into Stoneleigh Park, take an immediate right and then follow the Parelli signs. 5

7 What You Should Bring For You - Suggested This is the basic nuts and bolts about what you will need while you are at the Parelli Centre at Stoneleigh Park. Parelli equipment will be available for purchase from the UK Office (Onsite) o Suntan cream o Hat and Sunglasses o Rain Gear rain coat, hat and boots for riding in and walking around in. o A note book or diary and pens o Plastic Water Bottle o Insect Repellent Particularly against horse flies. o Riding Clothes and layers of clothes Whatever you usually ride in jeans, jodhpurs, boots, long and short sleeve shirts, etc. o Suitable footwear for riding This would include shoes with flat soles and a heel. The Parelli program is very much about safety with horses and this is a simple requirement to make sure we succeed. o Riding Hat That conforms to current British Safety standards. o A round corral bag or other luggage bag/box To make transporting your gear from car to stables and stables to field etc. much easier. o Horse s Passport o Horse Fly Spray 6

9 All the Things You Didn t Know You Needed to Know... Food You will be provided with a light lunch each day with a meat or vegetarian option. Any other dietary needs please bring along with you. For Your Horse For the length of your visit with us here at Stoneleigh your horse will be provided with a stall, shavings, hay and water buckets. Cleaning your horse s pen daily will be your responsibility and it s a great opportunity to develop your relationship (if we have to clean it, a very large fee will be charged to you!!) There are wheelbarrows, forks and rakes provided. Facilities are available to soak hay if required. If your horse requires hard feed and supplements please bring these with you. There is a place to store them and you may wish to bring a feed bin to put it in. We have an optional watering program at the Parelli Centre. We highly recommend that you bring your horse water or you take your horse to water throughout the day instead of keeping water in the pen. This is to help you and your horse build a strong bond in a short amount of time and the difference it makes is phenomenal. However, this program is up to you. You are free to leave a full bucket of water in the pen all day if you desire. Local Liveries Luci McLaughllin- Home Farm Stables Napton, Southam. 13 miles from Stoneleigh Park Stabling and grazing for your horse; 25 per night includes hay and straw. Grazing paddocks with electric tape 15 per night Hook up available for horse boxes and space available for camping. There are also toilet facilities. There is also a hotel 4 miles from Home Farm Stables Farrier Please have your horse freshly trimmed or shod before you arrive, especially if you are staying for longer than two weeks. If your horse loses a shoe or needs attention then it will be up to a local farrier and their busy schedule as to when they will be able to assist you. Bringing the Right Horse Please make sure that you bring a horse that satisfies the pre requisite criteria for your chosen course. You and your horse will need to have an understanding of the Seven Games to a Level 1 standard. Your horse must be ride-able, by ride-able we mean that your horse has been started under saddle and has had at least hours riding at all 3 gaits with a saddle on. Please only bring one horse. No Stallions. Days Off The weeks basically run from Monday to Friday. During the weekend we suggest that you take a break. We ve discovered that eager students need to take a break to let information soak through and give their horses time off! Vet Services Our local vets are Bell and Partners and can be contacted on Smoking Smoking is not permitted at the Parelli Centre. Thank you for your consideration. Dogs and Other Pets No pets are allowed at the Parelli Centre. Please make arrangements to board or leave your pets at home. No Video Cameras You are welcome to take as many photos as you like but please do not bring video cameras. Filming at the Parelli Centre is not permitted. 8

Family/Guests/Friends Family members/friends are often a great support for you during your course from home! Our days will be busy and we d like to create a comfortable learning environment for all students and with that we ask that there be no auditors during a course. If your partner/family comes to visit we d like to ask that they respect everyone s learning during course hours. They can of course join you for dinner of an evening.
