Race 1 - Jim Conway Handicap metres: > Crystal Spirit - commenced awkwardly. Sekali - restrained in the early stages. Prosecution - laid out under pressure and performed below market expectations.. Rider Jye McNeil could offer no explanation for the performance other than the filly got unbalanced coming down the hill.. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.. Race 2 - Tile Importer Handicap metres: > My Gypsy Jane - commenced awkwardly.. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, jostled for a short distance with Verreaux (NZ).. Over-raced in the early stages and leaving the 1400m commenced a run three wide before crossing to the lead near the 1000m. Laid out under pressure in the straight and approaching the winning post was eased to avoid the heels of Time Walker.. Verreaux (NZ) - commenced awkwardly.. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, jostled for a short distance with My Gypsy Jane.. Approaching the 1800m was restrained to avoid the heels of My Gypsy Jane..

2 Grand Teton (NZ) - restrained from the start.. Raced wide through the early stages before crossing to obtain a position outside the leader near the 1400m.. Passing the 1000m was inconvenienced by Blazers that shifted out.. Rider Patrick Moloney was of the opinion his mount may have come to the end of its preparation.. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.. The Ultimatum - restrained in the early stages.. Raced wide throughout.. Calibrate - approaching the 1800m was checked when tightened between Verreaux (NZ) that was being restrained and Chez Dumonet (NZ) that shifted in marginally.. Blazers - hung out under pressure in the straight and approaching the winning post bumped the eventual race winner, Galileos Pearl.. A warning will be placed on the mares record for its racing manners.. Chez Dumonet (NZ) - rider Damian Lane could offer no explanation for the performance.. Race 3 - Clanbrooke Racing Handicap metres: > Best Hoffa - after being loaded and getting its leg up, underwent a veterinary examination and was subsequently a late withdrawal at 1.01pm.. All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on Best Hoffa to be refunded.. When questioned regarding his riding tactics, particularly approaching and passing the 800m, apprentice Taylor Marshall explained that his mount had a tendency to over-race and for this reason he had to steady off the heels of Share The Faith which forced him wider on the course.. He further explained that he restrained his mount in an attempt to gain cover at this point behind Share The Faith, as he did not want to expose the gelding too early, as it was first up.. Taylor Marshall added that in hindsight it may have been more prudent to allow his mount to stride forward and take up a position behind Fast n Rolling.. Baykool - restrained from the start. Haukland Beach (NZ) - slow to begin. Torreggiante - eased from the start. Share The Faith - commenced awkwardly.. Over-raced in the early stages.. Rider Cory Parish stated his mount did not handle todays track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Hazard Ahead - raced three wide without cover.

3 Fast n Rolling - raced four wide without cover. Sohool - laid out over the concluding stages. Menabrea - apprentice Chris Caserta was of the view his mount may have come to the end of its preparation.. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 4 - Crisp Steeplechase metres: > Wells - slow to begin. Mannertone - jumped the tenth obstacle awkwardly. Illavaalf (NZ) - jumped the eleventh obstacle awkwardly and knuckled on landing.. Rider Braidon Small reported that he was slightly disappointed with the performance today.. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.. Braidon Small was fined $300 under the provisions of LR53A(1)(a)(ii) for using his whip eleven times prior to the 100m, which is one time more than permitted.. King Of The Forest - jumped the last obstacle awkwardly. Race 5 - Grand National Hurdle metres: > Refectory (IRE) - stood flat footed and was slow to begin (two lengths).. Failed to negotiate the last hurdle and was retired from the event.. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained a laceration to its near fore heel and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. The gelding will also be referred to the Jumps Review Panel for assessment. Sea King (NZ) - raced keenly in the early stages.. Near the 3500m brushed the rail when racing tight to the inside of Who Says Im Ready (NZ) which shifted in.. Tremec (NZ) - near the 3500m shied at the rail when racing tight to the inside of Earthbound and became unbalanced. Rider Martin Kelly (Earthbound) was spoken to advisedly. Who Says Im Ready - near the 1600m was steadied to avoid the heels of Sea King (NZ) that had been forced wider on the course.. Jumped the tenth and eleventh obstacles awkwardly.. Raced wide for the majority of the event.. Unique Assassin - retired from the event near the 1600m.. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg and will require a veterinary

4 clearance prior to racing again. The gelding will also be referred to the Jumps Review Panel for assessment. Wish Come True (IRE) - near the 1600m was hampered by Hornets Nest (GB) (Paul Hamblin) that shifted out abruptly when leaving the course proper to race up the jumping hill; Paul Hamblin was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care.. Jumped the last obstacle awkwardly and knuckled on landing.. Earthbound - jumped the tenth hurdle awkwardly. Ancient King (IRE) - jumped the last obstacle awkwardly and made heavy contact with the hurdle. Race 6 - Chandler Macleod Handicap metres: > Stylemaker - late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 7.40am. Lady Skills - restrained from the start. Blithe Belle - slow into stride. Queen Annabel - hampered at the start by Sognani that shifted in.. Got its head up and had to be steadied off the heels of Kirk Ella when over-racing near the 900m. Moonlover - raced wide without cover. Kirk Ella - raced wide throughout. Swiss Moments (NZ) - near the 500m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Sports Writer that shifted out.. Shortly after passing the 400m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Bay Harmony that shifted in. Sports Writer - rider Nikita Beriman reported her mount did not handle the track conditions.. Post race endoscopy detected a degree of internal exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage that may have affected the racing performance and a veterinary clearance is required prior to racing again. Race 7 - TheBigScreenCompany.com.au Bletchingly Stakes metres: > Santa Ana Lane - late withdrawal at 1.23pm due to the track downgrade. Race 8 - Ladbrokes Cash In Handicap metres: > Correct weight was delayed when Damien Oliver, rider of Recalculate (fourth placegetter), lodged an objection against Oscars Ma Mate Pa being declared the third placegetter alleging interference between the 300m and the 150m.. On the evidence it was established that approaching the 200m Recalculate was disappointed for a run when Proud Wolf initially shifted in slightly and Oscars Ma Mate Pa after shifting in, shifted out.. Stewards could not be fully satisfied that Oscars Ma Mate Pa was fully to blame for Recalculate having to be steadied and therefore the objection was dismissed.. 6 Race 9 - Sheamus Mills Bloodstock Handicap metres: > Correct weight was delayed when Lucinda Doodt, rider of Pria Eclipse (third placegetter) lodged an objection against All Day Every Day being declared the winner alleging interference over the final 100m.. On the evidence it was established that approaching the 50m All Day Every Day shifted in and brushed Pria Eclipse however Stewards could not be satisfied that had this not occurred, that Pria Eclipse would have beaten All Day Every Day and therefore the objection was dismissed and correct weight was declared.. Ballybrit - passing the 200m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of All Day Every Day (Ben Thompson) which shifted out when not quite clear; Ben Thompson was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care..
