1 May 8-10, 2015 $1,000 ADDED PURSE- GRAND CHAMPION STEER & GRAND CHAMPION HEIFER $500 ADDED PURSE- RESERVE CHAMPION STEER & RESERVE CHAMPION HEIFER 50% PAYBACK Our goal is to give the youth involved in this show an educational experience while raising their beef market animals. All animals will be weighed and entered into weight classes. Showmanship will be based on the age of the exhibitor as of January 1, 2015 GENERAL SHOW RULES & INFORMATION 1. Entry is open to any bona fide 4-H, FFA, Grange, Independent, or Junior Breed Association member. 2. Exhibitors must not have passed their 19 th birthday (steers) or 21 st birthday (heifers) as of January 1, There will be no limit on number of entries per exhibitor. Exhibitor with multiple animals in one class must have another junior exhibitor show animal(s). 4. Barns will be open to receive entries after 12:00 PM on Friday, May 8, The scales will be open from 12:00 PM 10:00 PM on Friday, May 8, Barn tie outs at the Jackpot are free. There are a limited number of gated pens available for an additional $30.00 per pen. These pens can be reserved by phoning the fair office. Payment for these pens is due at the time of arrival prior to any livestock being unloaded. You may NOT reserve or pay for these pens on your entry form due to the limited availability you must call to reserve. Preference will be given to exhibitors that have traveled long distances. 7. All steer entries must be on the grounds, checked in and weighed in by 10 PM Friday, May 8 th. 8. All heifer entries must be checked in by 8:00 AM Saturday, May 9 th (exhibitors not arriving until Saturday must call by 5:00 PM on Friday with exhibitors name and animal s birth date) 9. Bedding will not be provided. No straw will be allowed, wood chips or shavings only. There will be shavings on sale Friday, Saturday & Sunday. 10. Each Exhibitor participating in showmanship must show his/her own animal. 11. All persons showing must be clean and neatly attired. Collared shirts, long pants and closed toed shoes are MANDATORY. No uniforms, t-shirts, or scoop-collared blouses allowed. 12. Show Management reserves the right to change the show schedule and classes to improve the show. 13. Camping: All vehicles staying on the fairgrounds must register at the livestock office and pay a $20.00 fee per camp space per night. No camping or sleeping in barns. 14. All pens must be cleaned out before leaving the grounds. If pens are left dirty exhibitor will be charged $20 per pen. 15. No food, alcohol or open beverage containers without lids allowed in livestock barns. 16. No smoking allowed in livestock barns or around show ring. 17. No dogs allowed on the fairgrounds. 18. Any exhibitor or adult chaperone found in violation of show rules will be required by Show Management to load livestock and leave the fairgrounds immediately, forfeiting all moneys and/or awards won. 19. Management reserves the right to remove any exhibitor or spectator for any conduct in which they feel reflects poorly on the event. 20. Electrical access is limited, generators welcome. 21. All Award Premiums will be mailed.

3 Entry Information Fitting Contest: 1. Contest will begin on May 8, 2015 at 6:00 PM. 2. Teams will be made up of 2 people. All team members must be registered in Saturday s Jackpot. 3. Each team will have 1.5 hours to fit their animal. 4. All team members must participate in washing, clipping and grooming. 5. Pre Registration: $25 per team member postmarked no later than May 4, Late Registration: $25 per team member. Register on site May 8, 2015 by 5:00 PM. 7. Pre Registered teams will be given first priority to participate over late registration teams. Management reserves the right to limit teams. 8. Contestants supply their own fitting and grooming supplies. 9. Management will provide the cattle. 10.Class premiums will be paid to 3 rd place, awarding: 1 st 50%, 2 nd 30% and 3 rd 20% of the 50% pay out in this division. 11. All award premiums will be mailed. Fitting Contest- $25.00 Entry Fee Per Team Member Fitting Contest Livestock Show: 1. Pre-Registration: The entry fee is $40 per animal, per class. No refunds. Entries must be postmarked no later than May 4, Entry fee must be included with the official entry blank; or a late charge of $10 per class will be added. Checks made payable to 10 th DAA. 2. Late Registration: The entry fee is $50 per animal, per class (cash only if paid upon arrival) for any entry received after May 4, Late entries will only be accepted until 10:00 PM, Friday, May 8, Showmanship: $10 entry fee per exhibitor, classes will be held in three age divisions: Junior 9-12, Intermediate and Senior 16 and over. The showmanship finals will be held at the conclusion of the show. Animal and Exhibitor must be entered in a Jackpot Class together to be eligible for Showmanship. Late entries into Showmanship: $20 per exhibitor and will only be accepted until 10:00 PM, Friday, May 8, Class premiums will be paid to 4 th place in each class, awarding: 1 st 40%, 2 nd 25%, 3 rd 20%, and 4 th 15% of the 50% pay out per Division, per Class. 5. Grand Champion Steer and Grand Champion Heifer will be awarded an additional $1,000 purse. 6. Reserve Champion Steer and Reserve Champion Heifer will be awarded an additional $500 purse. 7. Steers entered in the English Steer division must be accompanied by registration papers or a copy of transfer papers or an affidavit of transferee of registration papers from their National Breed Association in the exhibitors name as of the show date. Steers without registration papers must be shown in the Black/Black X or All other Breed division. 8. Heifers must be accompanied by registration papers or a copy of transfer papers or an affidavit of transferee of registration papers from their National Breed Association in the exhibitors name as of the show date. 9. Commercial heifer class for all unregistered heifers. 10. The scales will be open 12 p.m. 10 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2015 only. 11. Show management will break Steers into weight classes.

4 12. The judge reserves the right to re-weigh any animal throughout the course of the show. 13. Health Requirements: Out of state entries must conform to all rules and regulations of interstate shipment to California. 14. Showmanship: The first and second place winners of Senior, Intermediate and Junior Showmanship will compete for Overall Beef Showman. 15. Exhibitors will be allowed to leave at the conclusion of the show. All pens must be cleaned out and inspected by show management before permission will be given to leave the grounds. 16. Late Registration: $5 per exhibitor (cash only if paid onsite) for any entry received after May 4, Late entries will be accepted until Sunday, May 10, 2015 at 8:00 AM. 4. No premiums. Awards only. 5. Exhibitors to provide cattle and show equipment.

5 Mother s Day Showmanship May 10 th $5.00 entry fee per exhibitor Mother s Showmanship Siskiyou County Local Show: 1. Exhibitors in this show must be a resident of the 10 th or the 10-A District Agricultural Association/Siskiyou County. 2. To be eligible for entry in the local show, contestants must also be registered in at least one class (excluding Showmanship and Fitting) in the Jackpot show on Saturday. 3. Pre Registration: $25 per animal per class. Entries must be postmarked no later than May 4, Entry fee must be included with the official entry blank or a late charge of $10 per class will be added. Checks made payable to 10 th DAA. 4. Late Registration: $35 per animal per class (cash only if paid onsite) for any entry received after May 4, Late entries will only be accepted until 10:00 PM, Friday, May 8, There will not be a local showmanship contest. 6. Class premiums will be paid to 4 th place in each class, awarding: 1 st 40%, 2 nd 25%, 3 rd 20%, and 4 th 15% of the 50% payout per Division, per Class. 7. Grand Champion Steer and Grand Champion Heifer will be awarded an additional $250 purse. 8. Reserve Champion Steer and Reserve Champion Heifer will be awarded an additional $100 purse. 9.
