4 RULES AND REGULATIONS New All Equitation Classes open to Junior and Amateur Riders only. ENTRIES: All fees must be paid or a blank check left with the show secretary before numbers can issued. Mail entries to: Linda Kirk Westheimer # 117 Houston TX lkirk28409@aol.com Late fee of $35 will be charged for entries postmarked after Feb 7,2018. STABLING: Stall fee or open check must accompany entries. Stabling will be available on Thursday before show. Stall fee is $55 for the entire show. Stalls are 12 x 12 box stalls with doors. Shavings will be available for purchase on the grounds at $10.00 per bag. NO OUTSIDE SHAVINGS ALLOWED. Manure is to be disposed of in designated areas, not in trash containers. There will be a $40 grounds fee per horse not stabled on the show grounds. Arrivals before Friday or if staying Sunday night after the show will be charged $40/night. NON-SHOWING HORSES: Will be charged $35 Schooling Fee in addition to any stall fee or grounds fee. OFFICE/MEDIC FEE: Will be charged $45 for each horse on the grounds both showing and non-showing. SCHOOLING: Will be available Friday from 1PM to 7PM. Other times TBA. HARD HATS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHEN MOUNTED. CAMPERS: RV Hook ups are available at $45 per night. ATTIRE: Riders must be properly attired. Protective headgear must be worn. Numbers must be worn and clearly visible. All riders must wear ASTM/SEI approved helmets. Riding coats are not required. A polo shirt with a collar may be substituted for a riding shirt however, T-Shirts are not acceptable. Boots and breeches must be worn when competing. CHANGES: Management reserves the right to change, cancel, or combine classes, alter courses, and to do all things necessary to compensate for excessive or inadequate entries. COGGINS: Proof of a current (within the past year) Coggins test must be available

5 REFUNDS: Any pre-paid fees will be refunded if a horse or rider is unable to compete prior to the beginning of the show due to illness or injury. DOGS: No dogs are allowed on the premises unless the owner is willing to keep the animal confined or on a leash AT ALL TIMES. A $200 FINE WILL BE IMPOSED. The owner risks the right to remain on the premises for the show. This rule will be strictly enforced. Individuals must not lead dogs on a leash while mounted. RESPONSIBILITY: Submission of an entry to show constitutes an agreement to the following: Exhibitor agrees to indemnify and hold the San Antonio Rose Palace and Horse Show Management harmless against any claims, demands, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, for the defense thereof, arising from the conduct of management of Exhibitor s business or its use of the premises or from any breach on the part of the Exhibitors of any conditions of this Agreement, or contractors or agents, employees, guests or invitees in or about the premises. In case of any action or proceeding brought against the San Antonio Rose Palace or Management by reason of any such claim, Exhibitor, upon notice, covenants to defend such action or proceeding by counsel acceptable to owner. Exhibitor is responsible for security of his/her own property and the San Antonio Rose Palace is not responsible for accidents, fires, or theft. WARNING: Under Texas Law (chapter 87, Civil Practice and Remedies Code), an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities. HUNTER CLASSES: Will be judged on performance and soundness. JUDGES DECISIONS are final. Any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the judges or any show officials on the part of an owner, manager, trainer, coach, rider or groom shall disqualify the horse, and the owner shall forfeit all fees. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: In accordance with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES CAN BE BROUGHT ONTO THE PREMISES. FIREARMS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON LICENSED PREMISES. FOOD/BEVERAGES: San Antonio Rose Palace exclusively operates these sales and services. No foods or beverages are to be brought onto the premises by any persons. The concession stand will not accept out-of-state checks. PRIZES: Prize money to be deducted from bill. Trophy & 6 Ribbons in each class. 8 MEDAL CLASSES Junior and Amateur Riders Only. Entry $30/class Trophy and 6 Ribbons per class Medal Simple course of at least 8 fences 2 3 which may include a combination natural rails. Ride off will be conducted on the flat only with tests to be announced. Three exhibitors minimum for ride off Medal. Course of not less than 8 obstacles which will include a combination and may include colored rails. At least 4 exhibitors will be called back for the ride-off tests which may include Tests 1-18 as listed in the USEF Rule Book. Warm Up Classes Entry fee: $30/class Sat, $25/class Sun.
