Loughlin (sp) Supplementary Reports: ROSEHILL GARDENS Saturday 24 February 2018 Race 1: TAB Highway Handicap 1100m: Bonsley raced keenly in the middle stages. Race 6: Parramatta Advertiser Cup (Listed) 1900m: Imperial Aviator passing the 250m had to be directed back to the inside of Testashadow to improve after being disappointed for a run between Admiral Jello and Testashadow, which was carried out slightly by Get On The Grange. Race 8: Schweppes Handicap 1100m: Selita began awkwardly. Royal Tudor raced keenly in the middle stages. RACE 1: Casino Prince@Vinery Handicap 1100m: Affogato began awkwardly. In the early part of the straight, Partners and Affogato made contact on a number of occasions when Affogato attempted to improve into a narrow run to the outside of Home Scene, which then shifted out slightly. Chabreet shifted out noticeably in the straight, proved difficult to ride out and finished wider on the track. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. Co-trainer Mr Peter Snowden was advised that Chabreet would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. Home Scene raced wide and without cover throughout. Hostwin Epanoui Trainer Mr G. Moore was fined $50 for failing to notify that Hostwin Epanoui had been gelded (AR53C). Began awkwardly and lost ground (2L).

2 Mandalong Tapit slow to begin and did not muster speed in the early stages. J. Ford, the rider of 5 th placed Mandalong Tapit, was reminded of his obligation to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race wherever possible. Reagan began awkwardly. Inside the 200m Reagan was steadied when crowded for room between Mandalong Tapit and Vega One (B. Shinn), which after initially being taken out by Wagner then shifted out further. Wagner was taken out by Chabreet (K. McEvoy), which was running out under pressure. B. Shinn was advised to exercise more care. K. McEvoy was advised that, whilst his mount was proving difficult to ride, it was his obligation to completely stop riding and straighten his mount and not use the whip as a correctional tool. Vega One slow to begin. Steadied and taken back in across runners after the start. Wagner was fractious in the barriers and knuckled over badly on jumping. Laid out rounding the home turn and prior to straightening was taken wider when Partners shifted out. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. RACE 2: Tab.com.au Handicap 1100m: Dream Child laid out throughout. In Good Health overraced in the middle stages. Miss Fabulass steadied and taken back in across runners from its wide barrier after the start. Rosina Kojonup reared behind the barriers, dislodging its rider B. Shinn, who injured his knee. B. Shinn was examined by the ambulance officers and was cleared to fulfil his engagement. Whilst the loading process continued, Rosina Kojonup reared in the barriers and became cast. Rosina Kojonup was then withdrawn on veterinary advice at 2.02 p.m. Starry, which was in the adjoining stall, underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Subsequently, the Stewards ruled that all monies invested on Rosina Kojonup be refunded in full and that all successful wagers made prior to 2.02 p.m. be subject to the following deductions in the face value of each ticket: 1 st Cristobal 14 cents win, 16 cents place; 2 nd Miss Fabulass 15 cents place; 3 rd Terminology 8 cents place. Trainer Mr B. Baker was advised that Rosina Kojonup would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing. On return to the jockeys room, B. Shinn was examined by the Club doctor who confirmed his suitability to ride. She's Furline slow to begin and was then crowded for room between Miss Fabulass and Sliema, both of which began awkwardly and shifted ground. Steadied and taken back in across runners from its wide barrier after the start. Near the 200m when Starry was commencing to weaken, became awkwardly placed on that runner's heels, shifted out and bumped Pierrless, resulting in both runners becoming unbalanced. H. Bowman was advised to exercise more care. H. Bowman advised that his saddle shifted rounding the first turn and, after shifting out around heels near the 200m, it 2

3 shifted further, which placed him at a disadvantage in riding his mount out to the end of the race. Sliema steadied and taken back in across runners from its wide barrier after the start. Thank Heavens slow to begin. Near the 200m was disappointed for a run and was obliged to shift out around the heels of In Good Health to improve into clear running. Zenardini slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout. Pierrless J. Adams replaced K. O'Hara (misunderstanding) as the rider of the filly. Slow to begin. Rounding the first turn when racing keenly, Pierrless improved into a position where there was not sufficient room to the inside of Starry, which laid out rounding the first turn and then, when being corrected by its rider, shifted back in. As the Stewards were satisfied that no rider was to blame, no action was taken. As a result, Thank Heavens, which was trailing, was checked and Miss Fabulass, which was inclined to overrace, and Sliema were hampered. Lost its near hind plate during the running of the race. RACE 3: #Theraces Handicap 1800m: Condor in the early and middle stages, raced keenly and did not settle despite the efforts of its rider. Deladies Boy When questioned A. Layt advised that with the strong tempo Deladies Boy never travelled comfortably and the only explanation he could offer for the colt not finishing off its race was the soft track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. Co-trainer Mr Paul Snowden advised that Deladies Boy will now be spelled and gelded. Huangshan steadied and taken in across runners from its wide barrier after the start. H. Bowman explained that, in his view, Huangshan did not run out a strong 1800 metres in today's race, bearing in mind it was genuinely run. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. Terwilliker rounding the home turn, shifted out and made contact with the hindquarter of Baby Back Shak. Victory Is Mine raced keenly in the lead. RACE 4: TAB Handicap 1300m: Renewal shifted out under pressure in the straight and inside the 100m raced tight with Absolute. As a result, G. Schofield's ability to ride his mount out fully with the whip was restricted to some degree. Augustus slow to begin. Near the 300m was steadied when crowded for room by Fame Shines (C. Reith), which shifted in when not clear. C. Reith was reprimanded. Augustus was then awkwardly placed for a short distance and was obliged to shift out around the heels of Fame Shines in order to improve. 3

4 Dunatun taken back in across runners from its wide barrier after the start. Absolute raced wide without cover throughout. Tiara Star taken back in across runners from its wide barrier after the start. J. Collett could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance of Tiara Star, which never travelled comfortably throughout. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. Canadienne after the start, made contact with Fame Shines and became unbalanced. RACE 5: Bowermans Office Furniture Handicap 1400m: Aonair A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. Forbidden Kisses slow to begin. Taken back in across runners from its wide barrier after the start. Star Of The Ring slow to begin. Taken back in across runners from its wide barrier after the start. Divine Breeze slow to begin. Raise The Limit Taken back in across runners from its wide barrier after the start. Gaytime Girl whilst en route to the course, sustained a minor laceration to the inside of its offside hock and was cleared to start by the Club's veterinary officer. T. Clark explained that in his view Gaytime Girl, which was coming back in distance, raced somewhat one-paced today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame (1/5) in the off-foreleg. Trainer Mr L. Bridge was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Gaytime Girl racing again. Makfi Lass raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Raced wide without cover throughout. Shifted out under pressure in the straight near the 300m, carrying Gaytime Girl wide. RACE 6: TAB Rewards Handicap 1500m: Kaonic slow to begin. Merovee H. Bowman advised that the intention was not to have the colt ridden outside the lead, however, after beginning particularly well, when there was a lack of early speed, he was able to take up a position outside the early leader Plymouth Road without placing his mount under any pressure, and it travelled well. However, H. Bowman expressed disappointment in Merovee's failure to finish its race off. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. Perpetual Motion slow to begin. Mr McBat slow to begin. 4

5 To Your Health when being restrained to take cover, raced keenly and was steadied from the heels of Merovee after that horse crossed. RACE 7: Australian Turf Club Handicap 1300m: Sanctioned after being slow to begin was crowded between Victime de L'amour and Chavish, both of which shifted ground. K. McEvoy advised that Sanctioned travelled well, although it blundered near the 1000m. He stated that the gelding's run ended near the 200m, however, he was not overly disappointed in its performance bearing in mind that it had had only one barrier trial leading into today's race and was resuming from a spell. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. Mon Pere raced wide without cover throughout. Tenorino badly held up and did not obtain completely clear running until passing the 150m. Thaad slow to begin. Taken back in across runners from its wide barrier after the start. Victime de L'amour began awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with Sanctioned resulting in Victime de L'amour becoming unbalanced. Victime de L'amour then did not muster speed, despite being ridden along. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. Reiby Rampart was a late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 8.30 a.m. after Trainer Mr J. Attard advised that the mare had kicked out in its stable box and sustained abrasions to its near hind leg. Mr Attard was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Reiby Rampart racing again. Alert By Sea K. O'Hara advised that she was under no specific instructions other than not to fight the horse. She added after Alert By Sea began only fairly, it mustered natural pace and, after being caught wide, she allowed the horse to stride forward and was ultimately able to take up the lead rounding the first turn. Alot Like Home shifted its off-hind plate during the parade, which necessitated it being refitted prior to leaving the enclosure. Alot Like Home underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was passed fit to start. Inside the final 100 metres, shifted out under pressure. RACE 8: So You Coolmore Australia Handicap 2400m: Great Glen Multitude raced wide in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. El Novio slow to begin. Steadied and taken back in across runners from its wide barrier after the start. B. Shinn advised that he had been asked to ride El Novio quietly. He stated that after settling at the rear of the field the gelding raced keenly throughout and this was the main reason that it did not finish off its race in the straight. A postrace veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame (2/5) in the off-foreleg. 5

6 Stable representative Mr C. Duckworth was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to El Novio racing again. Go Benny steadied and taken back in across runners from its wide barrier after the start. Made the crossing awkwardly near the 1800m. Meteorologist App. B. McDougall advised that, after rearing at the start and losing ground (2L), Meteorologist settled towards the rear of the field. He added that the gelding travelled well thereafter, however, was disappointing in that it failed to finish off its race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be coughing. Trainer Mr M. Wilson was advised that a veterinary clearance, including the results of an endoscopic examination, would be required prior to Meteorologist racing again. Varuska steadied and taken back in across runners from its wide barrier after the start. Equipped made the crossing awkwardly near the 1800m. Raced wide without cover from the 700m after having to shift to the outside of Paragon, which was commencing to give ground. GENERAL: Trainer Mr J. Pride was fined $200 for failing to lodge stable returns notifying that Terravista and Ball Of Muscle were not in his stables (LR39(4)(a)). Summary of whip use: Stewards noted that the following riders exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m under AR137A(5)(a)(ii).
