3 Instructions for Online Entries 1. Go to 2. If you do not have an account with Horseshows Online, near the top of the page click on Member Services. Otherwise, log in to your account and go to step #9. 3. Near the lower left hand side of the page, click on Click here to create a new account. 4. Click Next. 5. Fill out the information requested. Click on the I agree to the terms of service box. Click Next. 6. Choose a log-on id and password. Type the code as shown and click Next. 7. You now have an account. Click the link Click here to go to member login page. 8. Log in to your account. 9. Click the tab that says My People, Horses, Shows. 10. Add as many people and horses as you need to in order to enter. This includes all horses that you intend to show, their owners, riders and trainers. These will stay on your account, so you only need to create them once - after that you will have them stored for future shows. 11. Once you have all your people and horses created, click the tab that says My Show Entries. 12. Click the button that says Enter a Show - Create New Online Entry. 13. Select the show you would like to enter. You are now through with the difficult part of using this system. All you need to do is follow along the instructions and choose the horse, owner, trainer and rider for each entry. The next screen will allow you to choose your classes. The screen after that will allow you to select how many stalls, including tack stalls, that you need, order shavings, and even sign up your non-showing horse. When you are through with the fees screen, the next screen will allow you to review your entry information and check to be sure it is correct. When you are sure that it is, click the next button to submit it to the show. The next screen will allow you to print a copy of the entry for your records. 4 HJEO Schooling Division Specifications Created according to HJEO standards as of March 2017 Short Stirrup Hunter and Equitation Open to non-professional riders age ten and under that: - have not competed in any classes with fences 2 6 or higher at any HJEO, OHJA, or US Equestrian recognized shows. - have not been awarded a champion or reserve champion year end award by HJEO in short stirrup or academy short/long stirrup hunter or equitation divisions. Fence heights are not to exceed 18. Trotting jumps or lead changes is not to be penalized. Cantering is prohibited in under saddle classes. To be judged on manner of going, jumping style, correct pace, and organization. Long Stirrup Hunter and Equitation Open to non-professional riders, age 11 and over that: - have not competed in any classes with fences 2 6 or higher at any HJEO, OHJA, or US Equestrian recognized shows. - have not been awarded a champion or reserve champion year end award by HJEO in short stirrup, long stirrup or academy short/long stirrup hunter or equitation divisions. Fence heights are not to exceed 18. Trotting jumps or lead changes is not to be penalized. Cantering is prohibited in under saddle classes. Open 2 Hunter and Equitation Hunter classes to professional and non-professional riders. Fence heights are not to exceed 2. Trotting lead changes is not to be penalized. Cantering is prohibited in under saddle classes. Equitation classes open only to non professional riders who have not competed in any classes with fences 2 6 or higher at any HJEO, OHJA, or US Equestrian recognized shows. This is an open division created for green horses and/or green riders not yet ready to move up to 2 3. To be judged on manner of going, jumping style, and suitability for the beginner hunter ring. Because this is an open division, correct leads and a consistent number of strides may be considered, but simple lead changes are not be be penalized.

5 Beginner Hunter and Equitation Open to non-professional riders that: - have not competed in any classes with fences 2 6 or higher at any HJEO, OHJA, or US Equestrian recognized shows. - have not been awarded a champion or reserve champion year end ward by HJEO in beginner or academy beginner hunter or equitation divisions. Fence heights 2 3. No oxers. This should be judged like all other hunter divisions, except that special consideration must be given to older, shorter-strided horses who can no longer do the step comfortably. On these types of horses, the add step may be acceptable at judge s discretion. Flying changes are expected. Academy Beginner Hunter and Equitation Open to non-professional riders that: - have not competed in any classes with fences 2 6 or higher at any HJEO, OHJA, or US Equestrian recognized shows. - have not been awarded a champion or reserve champion year end award by HJEO in beginner or academy beginner hunter or equitation divisions. -are showing on an academy horse (as described in HJEO constitution section 13) Fence heights 2 3. Trotting lead changes are not to be penalized. No oxers. Same specs as beginner, except that simple changes are not to be penalized. This division was created for school horses so that they may compete against each other on a more level playing field. In the event that the beginner and academy beginner are combined, the judge will be informed which horses qualify as academy horses, and those horses will be judged accordingly and will not be penalized for simple changes. If the Academy Beginner division does not fill at any given horse show, this class may be combined with the beginner division but judged as Academy Beginner (i.e. trotting lead changes acceptable). Intermediate Hunter and Equitation Open to non-professional riders that: - have not competed in any classes with fences 3 or higher at any HJEO, OHJA, or US Equestrian recognized shows. - have not been awarded a champion or reserve champion year end award by HJEO in Intermediate hunter or equitation divisions. Fence heights 2 6. Rusty Stirrup Hunter and Equitation Open to non-professional riders age 35 and over. Rusty Stirrup riders may not be cross entered in any classes at 3 or higher at the same show. Fence heights are not to exceed 2 6. Modified Children s/adult Hunter and Equitation Open to non-professional riders. Fence heights 2 9.

6 Thoroughbred Hunters Fences 2 6. Eligible horses must provid e T.I.P. Numbers to event organizer with entry. Form more information, visit Must present proof of registration when checking in. Modified Children s/adult Hunter and Equitation Open to non -profesional riders. Fence heights 2 9. Low Hunter & Non-Pro Equitation Fences 3. Open to all riders of any age. Equitation non-pro only. Open Hunter Fences 3 3. Open to all riders of any age. OHJA 3 Medal - Open to OHJA and HJEO junior and amateur riders. At least three must complete the course. Consists of eight jumps with two changes of direction. Fences 3, spreads not to exceed 3. Testing of top two to six riders required. USEF Test HJEO Mini Medal - To be shown over a figure-eight course with fences to 2 6. Equitation only to count. Rider must be an HJEO member. This class is designed for beginner and intermediate riders. The winners shall be qualified for the annual ride-off. Three must be entered and shown to count. HJEO Hunter - To be shown over a 2 6 figure-eight course. This class is designed for beginner and intermediate riders and is open to all non-professional members of HJEO on horses owned by HJEO members. Three must be entered and shown for this class to count. HJEO Handy Hunter/Derby Series- Open to non-pros only. There will be several Handy Hunter Challenges and/or derbies throughout the year held at various farms during or the day after their schooling shows. These events will be run at 2 6 and 2 9 and are to be judged together. Handy Hunter Challenges and Derbies will not have combinations or any lines shorter than a four-stride to allow ponies and horses that need to do the added step. If held as a derby, the first round of the derby is to be a hunter round; second round is to be a handy hunter. In derbies held at schooling shows, every entry will do both rounds, but only points from the handy round will count toward year end awards. Points are accrued by the horse for the year end derby, meaning another rider can ride that horse in the year end derby. Points earned are cumulative and translate into dollars to be subtracted from the entry fee for the year end derby. (50 points during derby series equals $50 off final derby entry). Points are awarded through eighth place (ribbons through sixth at the schooling shows) broken down as follows 15, 12, 10, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1. All non-placing participants get one point. First through eight place also receive one point for each entry in the class. Exhibitors can show in the final derby even if no points are accrued throughout the year. Horse and rider combinations that have competed in any class with fences 3 3 or higher or in derbies or classics with prize monies over $5,000 at an HJEO, OHJA, or USEF recognized show are not eligible to compete. There will be an award given at the HJEO banquet for the high point derby series champion.

7 Puddle Jumper -.75 to.85 Meter. T.I.P Thoroughbred Jumpers - Fences 2 6. See Description of Thoroughbred Hunters Schooling Jumper -.90 to.95 Meter. Horse Welfare HJEO, OHJA and, therefore, Showtime Equestrian default to the USEF regulations when we have no specific rule on a subject. Please review the horse welfare rules on the next page and know that they will be enforced by the management and staff of Showtime Equestrian. Anyone who wishes to express a concern regarding the welfare of any horse on the show grounds may speak with any member of the Showtime management team and the matter will be dealt with promptly and confidentially. We at Showtime take horse welfare very seriously and wish to help protect all of our competitors without voices. 4SUBCHAPTER 8-F WELFARE OF THE HORSE GR839 Cruelty to and Abuse of a Horse 1. Cruelty to or the abuse of a horse by any person at a licensed competition is forbidden, constitutes a violation under Chapter 7, and renders the offender subject to penalty. The Show Committee must bar violators from further participation for the remainder of the competition. It is the duty of the competition officials and any properly constituted humane organization to report to the Federation any person who indulges in this practice for such further action as may be deemed appropriate. 2. The Federation or the judge, steward, or TD may appoint a veterinarian to inspect any animal in competition. Refusal to submit an animal for examination by an authorized veterinarian after due notification shall constitute a violation. 3. Show committees are encouraged to contact the American Humane Association, th Street NW, Suite 360, Washington DC 20036, which will provide experienced humane inspectors to work with them in eliminating cruel practices. 4. The following acts are included under the words cruelty and abuse but are not limited thereto: GR8 -- Conduct of Competitions 102 USEF 2017 a. Excessive use of a whip on any horse in a stall, runway, schooling area, competition ring or elsewhere on the competition grounds, before or during a competition, by any person. Except in emergency situations, any striking of the horse s head (on the poll and forward of the poll) with the whip shall be deemed excessive. b. Rapping the legs of a horse with the butt end of a riding crop or other implement. c. Use of any substance to induce temporary heat. d. Manual poling with any object other than a bamboo pole. e. Use of a wire or chain in conjunction with any schooling jump. f. Use of electric device in schooling or showing. g. Use of shackles, hock hobbles and similar devices (not to be construed as rubber or elastic exercising devices). h. Showing a horse with raw or bleeding sores around the coronets, pasterns or legs. i. Use of any explosive (e.g., fire crackers, torpedoes, fire extinguishers except in case of fire, etc.) or laser beam devices anywhere on the competition grounds, except in an exhibition or if required in class specifications. j. Withholding of feed and water for prolonged periods. k. Letting

8 blood from a horse for other than diagnostic purposes. l. Inhumane treatment of a horse in a stall, runway, schooling area, competition ring or elsewhere on the competition grounds, by any person. m. Use of any object that prevents the horse s ability to close his mouth. (Exception: use of an oral speculum by a veterinarian or equine dentist to provide legitimate dental/oral medical care.) n. Soring and/or the use of an action device on any limb of a Tennessee Walking Horse, Racking Horse, or Spotted Saddle Horse (each a breed not recognized by the Federation) in any class at a Federation Licensed Competition is prohibited. An action device is defined by the USDA as any boot, collar, chain, roller, or other device that encircles or is placed upon the lower extremity of the leg of a horse in such a manner that it can rotate around the leg or slide up and down the leg so as to cause friction or strike the hoof, coronet band, fetlock joint or pastern of the horse. (Protective bell boots or heel boots are specifically excluded from this definition). The use of a weighted shoe, pad, wedge, in conjunction with a hoof band or other device or material (commonly referred to as a performance package) placed on, inserted in, or attached to any limb of a Tennessee Walking Horse, a Racking Horse, or Spotted Saddle Horse (each a breed not recognized by the Federation) constructed to artificially alter the gait of such a horse, and which are not protective or therapeutic in nature, in classes at a Federation Licensed Competition is prohibited. 5. Any actions against a horse by a competitor or an exhibitor, which are deemed excessive by a judge, Federation steward, technical delegate or competition veterinarian, in the competition ring or anywhere on the competition grounds may be punished by official warning, elimination, or other sanctions which may be deemed appropriate by the show committee. Such actions could include, but are not limited to excessive use of the whip, spurs, or bamboo poles. Competitors and exhibitors have the right to contest any action taken pursuant to GR839.5 by filing a protest or grievance pursuant to Chapter 6 of the rules for hearing and determination by the hearing committee. 5
