Classes will be pinned OPEN/AA/JR-YR if entries warrant, but combined for prize money. Same horse/rider combination is eligible for just one cash prize. A minimum score of 55% must be achieved to be eligible to receive prize money. Checks for prize money will be mailed within 30 days of the end of the show to the Owner or Lessee of record. Divisions (Jr/YR, AA, Open) will run concurrently as one class. Show management reserves the right to split or cancel classes as entries warrant. Divisions will be pinned separately if three or more riders remain in each division after the split. When divisions have less than three entries, show management reserves the right to combine divisions 2

3 and pin them as one class. Riders must clearly specify division choice. When no designation is made, riders will automatically be entered as Open. Riders can only enter one division per class. Ribbons awarded to sixth place for all classes. Special ribbons awarded to high point rider in FEI Level and to high point riders in each division (Adult, Jr/YR, and Open) of Training, First, Second, Third, and Fourth Levels. Excludes Freestyles. Entries Accepted on a first come, first serve basis. One entry per horse/rider combination. Accepting entries on-line at Completed entries (all signatures, negative Coggins, vaccination record, association cards and numbers) with a check made payable to Fields & Fences or credit card information should be mailed to the Show Secretary. Copy of a negative Coggins report dated within one year of horse show date. Remember - copies of all memberships/registrations are required with entry form. Entry form available on-line at Entries must be POSTMARKED by closing date. Late entries accepted with Late entry and Post Entry Fees IF SCHEDULING ALLOWS. Faxed entries processed only if credit card (Visa/MasterCard) info is provided. Confirmation and times will be ed to rider. address must be clearly printed on entry form. It is the responsibility of the rider to inform show management of any time conflicts as soon as possible after reviewing the schedule. Unofficial times will be made available on Thursday before the show. The schedule will be posted in the show office by NOON the day preceding the show. Non-competing horses must fill out an entry form for a number and must pay office, stabling and non-competing horse fees. No Show Competitors: All No Shows that have not contacted the show office by their first scheduled ride will be considered a scratch for the rest of the show and their time slots may be filled. Exhibitors enter with this understanding and agreement. Entry Cancellation and Refunds: The office fee is not refundable. Entries with written cancellation on or before the closing date will receive 100% refund of all fees less the office fee. NO REFUNDS after the closing date. Non-U.S. Citizens (see GR828.4) and foreign competitors (see GR807.4) must provide proof, in English, of current membership in good standing in their respective National Federation, or hold current membership in good standing with the USEF. A trainer is defined as any adult who has responsibility for the care, training, custody or performance of a horse on the competition grounds. Said person must sign the entry form. See GR147 and GR404. Stabling Stalls will be available after 11 am on Saturday. Permanent box stalls with doors are 10 x 12 and are available on a first come, first serve basis by entries received. Temporary stalls are 10 x 10 with doors. All horses must have a stall. Stabling requests honored when possible. Initial bedding is not included. Shavings may be purchased from show management at $9 per bale and initial bedding should be ordered with stalls. Exhibitors who bring their own bedding will be charged a $25.00 per horse disposal fee. Stall changes must be approved by show office. Horses found in an incorrect stall may be moved and fined $ This is for safety issues. Competitors are responsible for stall damage. 3

4 Arenas and Schooling All tests in standard 20m x 60m arena. In case of overfill, show management may elect to run some classes in 20m x 40m short arena. All arenas have all-weather footing (sand over limestone base). Arenas are 150 x250, 180 x240, 180 x250 and 120 x240. Show arena open for schooling on Saturday from noon to 7 pm. Warm-up ring available except during ring maintenance. Maintenance schedule posted in office. Miscellaneous USEF rules are in force from the moment show management allows access to the show grounds. This includes conduct, attire, correct saddlery and equipment. Helmets: From the time horses are officially admitted to the competition grounds by competition management, anyone mounted on a horse at any time on the competition grounds, including non-competing riders, riders on non-competing horses, mounted participants in exhibition classes and those competing in all classes and tests, including Para-Equestrian tests, must wear protective headgear as defined by this rule and otherwise in compliance with GR801. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place. Protective headgear is defined as a riding helmet which meets or exceeds ASTM/SEI standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. The harness must be secured an properly fitted. See DR Hazardous Weather/Acts of God/Accident/Emergency Policy: Management reserves the right to cancel any classes due to hazardous weather, acts of God, accidents or emergencies. Every effort will be made to reschedule with priority given to any Championship or qualifying classes being offered. No refunds for cancellations due to hazardous weather, acts of God, accidents or emergencies. No exhibitor may withdraw horses from a Licensed Competition after it has commenced, or remove them from the competition grounds without permission of the show secretary. See GR1305. Show management reserves the right to vary or add officials and refuse any entry for a cause; to disqualify any exhibitor and/or his or her horse for cause; to cause an exhibitor to forfeit his or her ribbons and winnings for cause; to return any entry and/or stall fee before or during the show for cause; all without being liable for damage or compensation. Show management reserves the right to make any changes deemed necessary for the safe and efficient conduct of this competition. Medicating Horses: Exhibitors should exercise extreme caution before medicating their horses and should be aware of the USEF rules governing drugs and medications. Any questions about the use of certain medications and regarding Rule IV should be directed to the USEF drugs and medication program, 956 King Avenue, Columbus, OH Phone Sharps Container: Competition management shall place a minimum of one sharps container per each competition, whether or not stabling is provided. Additionally, at least one sharps container per fifty occupied stalls for the disposal of needles and other disposable sharp instruments in convenient locations in barns housing competition horses. Competition management may fine any individuals including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments. Competitions failing to comply with placing the required number of containers on the show grounds will be considered in violation of the rules and may be subject to penalty as determined by the CEO or Executive Director and/or the Hearing Committee. See GR1210. Health papers required for IL: In addition to negative coggins, all equines entering Illinois must provide: a) certificate of veterinary inspection issued by an accredited vet within 30 days of entry; and b) an entry permit issued by the Illinois Dept. of Agriculture. Entry permits are available by calling the IL DOA at or by visiting and are issued 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is no charge for 4

5 an Entry Permit. Riders should be aware that Interstate Health Papers are required to be in your vehicle when attending shows not within your home state. GR845 Equine Vaccination Rule: At Federation licensed competitions, horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations with six months prior to entering the stables. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be required to leave the competition grounds upon request by Competition Management. Trailer parking in pastures at south end of property. No smoking in or near any building! All dogs must be on a leash attached to a responsible adult. Please leave dogs at home if possible. Food available on show grounds during normal show hours. Classes Classes may not necessarily run in order listed in prize list due to scheduling issues. Great American/USDF Qualifying Classes will not require a separate ride. All exhibitors riding in the Open, Adult Amateur, & Junior/Young Rider classes will pay an additional $10 USDF fee to have this score entered in the GAIG/USDF qualifying class at that level. Place a Q after the class number on entry form. Freestyle Entry: In order to enter a freestyle class at any level, a horse/rider combination must have received a minimum score of 60% in the highest test of the declared freestyle level or any test of a higher level at a USEF recognized competition. A photocopy of the test verifying eligibility must be submitted with the entry for a freestyle class. See DR129. Para Equestrian Classes: (International Paralympic Equestrian Committee Classes) For riders with a disability who compete under the guidelines as a Para Equestrian. For further information, please review the guidelines as outlined on the USDF web site. Beginning October 1, 2015, participants and horses competing in Para-Equestrian classes at USDF recognized competitions will no longer be exempt from USDF memberships. Para-Equestrian competitors will now be required to have a USDF Group Membership, a USDF Participating Membership or a USDF Non-Membership ID and pay the $25 Non-Member fee per competition. Owners of horses competing in the Para-Equestrian classes will be required to have a USDF Participating Membership, a USDF Business Membership, a USDF Group Membership or a USDF Non- Membership ID and pay the $25 Non-Member fee per competition. The horses competing in Para-Equestrian classes will be required to have a USD HID number or be USDF Lifetime registered. DSHB Classes: USDF HID# may be required for entries in breed show,see DR Young Horse/Dressage SH Prospect In-Hand = young horses (thru 3 years old) will be shown in-hand at the walk and trot on the triangle. Bridles are mandatory for horses 2 years and older. Young horses are judged on confirmation (30%), movement (60%) and general impression (10%). SH Champion = no charge (NC) for Sport Horse Championship classes. Breeder s Group = No more than 3 horses/any age or sex all bred by exhibitor. Class #562 entered under breeder/farm name; one fee. Suitable to Become a Dressage Horse = Horse must be under 7 years of age & not have competed above 1st Level. Horses ridden walk, trot, canter both ways of ring. Mature Horse/USDF Dressage SH Breeding Stock In-Hand = Bridles are mandatory for horses 2 years and older. Mature horses are judged on confirmation (40%), movement (50%) and general impression (10%). Group Classes = Bridles are mandatory for horses 2 years and older. Horses are judged for confirmation (40%), movement (50%) and general impression (10%). Class #560 entered under dam name; one fee for the group. Class #560 entered under the dam name; Class #561 entered under the sire name; Class #562 entered under breeder name (as it appears on breed papers); one fee for the entire group. Under Saddle Classes = Horses are judged for confirmation (30%), movement (60%) and general impression (10%). Horses ridden at walk, trot, canter both ways of the ring. 5

The scores of competitors who fail to supply correct numbers may not be counted toward national awards. The proof of these numbers must be in the form of either their actual membership/registration cards or a facsimile of them. Members that are unable to produce the membership cards/registration or a facsimile will be asked to sign an affidavit and pay an affidavit fee. Entries received after the show is filled or after the closing date, whichever occurs first, will be placed on a wait list on an as-received basis. Send in entries as soon as possible to assure entry to the show. WARNING: Under the Equine Activity Liability Act, each participant who engages in an equine activity expressly assumes the risks of engaging in and legal responsibility for injury, loss, or damage to person or property resulting from the risk of equine activities. (Senate Bill 240-IL) Liability Horses by their inherent nature present a risk. This show, the management, the USEF Licensee, and the facility will not be responsible for any loss or damage or injury to horses exhibited, or for any article of any kind or nature that may be lost or destroyed, or in any way injured. Each exhibitor will be responsible for any injury that my be occasioned to any person, whomsoever, by any horse owned or exhibited by said exhibitor and shall indemnify the Association, or any member thereof, against all claims and demands, of any nature or kind, that may grow out of any injury occasioned by any horses owned or exhibited by the, or arise from the negligence of the person in charge of any such horse. All horses exhibited in this show participate entirely at the owner s risk. Neither the Organizing Committee, show volunteers and staff, the facility or its owners, any host GMO, USEF or USDF or their members will be responsible for any damage, injury, or loss to persons, horses, or property of exhibitors or spectators. All owners and competitors are personally responsible for damages to third parties caused by themselves, their employees, their agents or their horses. They are therefore strongly advised to take out third-party insurance providing full coverage for participation in equestrian events at home and abroad, and to keep the policy up to date. Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. Important notice to all affected parties: Third parties may come upon the property or enter the facilities where any herein described or listed event will occur; provided, that this is a license to enter the premises, for the purpose of observing or participating in the event, but not otherwise, and such license to any individual is subject to revocation by the owner, lessee or organizer, and entry for any purpose other than granted herein, shall be deemed criminal trespass and subject to appropriate legal proceedings. Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian (s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from ts rule. Directions to Fields & Fences, N. 7 The 2017 USDF/Dover Saddlery Adult Amateur Medal Program The USDF/Dover Saddlery Adult Amateur Medal Program is designed to specifically recognize and encourage the adult amateurs riding at Second Level. Awards 1. USDF/Dover Saddlery Medal Recipient The eligible rider with the highest score of 60 percent or better in the designated Second Level Test Three class or applicable test of choice USDF/Dover Saddlery Adult Medal class at a participating competition will receive a medal and neck ribbon. Winners will receive a prize for the first three medals they win during the competition season. 2. National Merit Award A National Merit Award will be awarded to riders winning three medals in the same competition year. 3. Year-End Awards The National Champion and Reserve Champion are determined from the average of the top three winning ride scores during the competition year. The Champion and the Reserve Champion will receive a prize. Rider Eligibility 1. Rider must have a current USDF Participating or Group Membership and be a member in good standing of USDF when the scores are earned. 2. Rider must be an adult amateur in accordance with Article GR1306 of the USEF rules and be designated with USEF as an adult amateur at the time the scores are earned. Owner & Horse Eligibility 1. Horse and owner must meet minimum competition eligibility requirements at the time scores are earned. 9 2017 Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Dressage Championships A single Regional Dressage Championship program organized by the United States Dressage Federation (USDF), and recognized by the United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. (USEF), will be held in each of the nine USDF regions. In addition, Alaska and Hawaii may each hold state championships if an official request from a Group Member Organization (GMO) is received by April 1 of the prior year. The Regional Championship Program Rules can be found on the USDF website at Please refer to the 2017 USDF Member Guide for the comprehensive list of rules and requirements for this program. Membership/Registration Requirements for Qualifying and Championships Rider: Must be a USDF Participating* Member (PM) at the time qualifying scores are earned and at the time of the championships. Must be a USEF member (Junior Active, Senior Active, or Life) at the time the qualifying scores are earned and at the time of the championships. Horse: Must be USDF Lifetime Registered (LTR) at the time qualifying scores are earned and at the time of the championships. Must be USEF (Annual or Lifetime) recorded at the time qualifying scores are earned and at the time of the championships. USDF horse registration and USEF horse/recording must be in the name(s) of the current owner(s) or lessee(s) of record. A horse is not required to have breed registry papers. Owner: Must be a USDF member (PM* or Business Member (BM)) at the time the qualifying scores are earned and at the time of the championships. Must be a USEF member (Junior Active, Senior Active, or Life) at the time qualifying scores are earned and at the time of the championships. * PMs are USDF members who join USDF directly.
