4 General Information ENTRY FEES: $30.00 per class unless otherwise indicated. A $10.00 post entry fee will be applied per class on all entries received or changed after the entries close. Best option: Enter on Horseshowing.com Fax entries to Or you can download an entry blank from website at Entry blank available from Horse Show Tab. Phone entries: , 11:30 AM to 6:30 PM, only if fax unavailable. No numbers will be given out without fees paid in full, horse, rider, owner, trainer identification number, and a signed entry blank by the exhibitor and/or authorized agent and trainer. The show reserves the right to vary officials as well as to combine, cancel, or divide classes if entries so warrant. Classes with insufficient entries may be cancelled or combined. SCRATCHES/REFUNDS: Scratches must be made in the office prior to the start of the division. If rider scratches at the horse show, a fee of $25 will be charged. STALLS: A limited number of permanent stalls with stall doors are available for $30.00 per day. Initial bedding provided. You must provide hay, feed and any additional shavings. Please call in advance to reserve. SCHOOLING SESSIONS: $20 Schooling sessions will be held once around over a posted course. Except in Hunter Ring where groups will be allowed to school. Schooling sessions must start at 7AM in order to finish on time. ASTM Approved protective headgear must be worn when riding anywhere on the grounds. Anyone riding on the grounds must have a signed entry blank in the office. Jumping orders: Rotating jumping orders will be established for all jumping classes. Class 1 will be reverse numerical order. Class 2 will rotate from center up and then center down Class 3 will be numerical. Trophies and eight ribbons are to be awarded in each class Championships and Reserve ribbons are offered in all divisions according to USEF rules.

5 Motorized Vehicle Statement- Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.(if your competition bans motorized vehicles, please contact our office for further instruction.) Veterinarian will be on show grounds at 10:30am to measure ponies. Please contact show office prior to horse show to let us know you have a pony to be measured. Schooling rings are sand footing approximately 100 x 120. Horse show rings are all sand. Sharps container will be located outside show office. Prize money will be awarded day of show and will be deducted from entry blank. USEF NOTES: All exhibitors in the Pony, Junior, Children s Hunter, and Amateur Every class offered herein which is covered by the specifications of the current USEF Rule Book Zone II, and the LIHSAA will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4 H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.

6 Member Long Island High Score Awards Association. All points won at this show will count toward the annual Long Island High Score Awards. In order to be eligible for an award in any LIHSAA section, the horse, pony or rider must have shown in that section in at least six member shows. USHJA Zone Support Fee: Effective a $2.00 USHJA Zone Support Fee is to be charged to each horse entered at a Federation Licensed Hunter and/or Jumper competition. This fee shall be collected by the competition and remitted to the USHJA in accordance with GR

7 OPPORTUNITY DIVISIONS This is a great OPPORTUNITY for riders to compete without being members and paying fees. Opportunity Classes- do not need to be a member of USHJA & USEF. Horses entered only in these classes are exempt from the Federation Fee, including the Equine Drugs and Medication Fee; are not required to have Horse Identification (HID) or Recording number, but are to list the HID or Recording number if the horse has been assigned this number. Riders/drivers/handler entered only in these classes are exempt from the Federation membership requirements and are not required to pay a non-member fee but are required to list the Federation membership number if the participant is a member. Horses, Ponies and Riders may not cross enter in to any other classes at the same competition. OPPORTUNITY BEGINNER EQUITATION- (CLASSES) Open to riders who have not won a ribbon at a recognized horse show where fences exceed 2 0. Riders may not enter any other classes requiring them to jump at this show except Advanced Beginner. Riders may trot cross rails. Open to juniors. 8 ACADEMY DIVISIONS This is a great opportunity for riders to compete without being members and paying fees. Academy Classes- do not need to be a member of USHJA & USEF. Riders are not eligible to enter any other division at the show. Once a rider has won a blue ribbon in Beginner they may not compete in this division. According to USEF rules. This division may be combined with Low Adult Equitation. LIHSAA JUNIOR EQUITATION DIVISION Entry Fee $35 per class Sec A- Horse (Main Ring) Sec B- Pony (Hunter Ring) Open to Junior Riders on horses who are not competing at the same show in any hunter or equitation class in which the fences exceed 3 3. To be shown over a minimum of 8 fences the required height including a combination and at least two changes of direction after the first fence. Two or more tests of the top four competitors are required. The same horse must be used in all phases. Only one rider per horse. Three riders must complete the course in order for points to count. To be shown over minimum of 8 fences at 3 6 including a combination and at least two changes of direction after the first fence. Two or more tests of the top four competitors are required. The same horse must be used in all phases. Only one rider per horse. Three riders must complete the course in order for points to count. The rider must be a member in order for points to count toward qualifying for the Finals. 86 USEF Pessoa/US Hunter Seat Medal 87 NHS/ASPCA Maclay ADULT EQUITATION LOW- ADULT EQUITATION Open to Adult Amateurs who are still eligible for Limit Equitation and are not showing over fences higher then 2 6 at this show. According to USEF rules. This division may be combined with Low Child Equitation. Fences 2. 23, 24 Low-Adult Equitation over fences 25 Low- Adult Equitation WTC LIHSAA Adult Equitation Division Riders in the following adult equitation classes may not compete in classes where fences exceed 3 6 at the same show. Adults may show ponies in this section, but any pony shown in this division may not be shown in any other class restricted to junior riders at same show. LIHSAA LOW CHILDREN S HUNTER A rider who enters and shows in the Low-Children s Hunter Division must be eligible as a limit equitation rider. 14 JUMPER DIVISIONS USEF Jumper Rating 1 Horses tied for first place will jump off, the winner is the horse with the fastest time and fewest faults. Ties for other than first place will remain tied, equal points will be awarded, and there will be a toss for the ribbon. BABY JUMPER Open to any horse or pony. 15 Long Island Horse Show Series for Riders with Disabilities (LIHSSRD) Riders will be judged on their performance during each class. Judging criteria consists of rider balance, seat, use of aids, horsemanship, control of horse, ring etiquette, safety, sportsmanlike conduct, suitability of the horse/rider match and the position of the rider. Judges may ask for posting trot, sitting trot, and two point position and all USEF beginner tests. Riders unable to perform any task asked of them due to physical limitations may describe the action to the judge. Riders must have a documented disability, and submit an information sheet with proof of eligibility with their first entry of the season with membership fee of $25. Riders who have competed in recognized divisions are ineligible. The top 10 riders in each division will be invited to compete in the finals at the 2010 Hampton Classic Horse Show. Class fee is $35 per class. All LIHSSRD entries with payment must be received by the HorseAbility office 1 week prior to the show. Riders must have a leader holding onto the horse, or a leader & sidewalker(s) in this division. Rider will choose one of 3 tests for class # 3. 16 LIHSAA SPECIFICATIONS FOR 2016 COURSES: Horses must be shown over a minimum of eight obstacles the required height in all sections. Exception: jump-off courses, High Jump, Six Bar and LIHSAA Short Stirrup. RIDER ELIGIBILITY ON PONIES: In accordance with USE rules adults may show ponies in classes that are not restricted to junior riders, however that pony may not be shown in any junior exhibitor class at the same show. Ponies are allowed in the following LIHSAA divisions: SS Hunter, Young Hunter, Modified Adult Hunter, Low Hunter, LIHSAA Jumper. See USEF rules for Zone and National divisions. SHORT STIRRUP: A rider who enters and shows in the Short Stirrup Division (Equitation or Hunter) shall not be eligible to enter any other section or division at that show. 18 THE 65 th ANNUAL JUNIOR OLYMPICS TEAM COMPETITION What is Jr.O?: This unique competition brings the aspect of team competition to a normally individual sport. The team spirit, mutual support and magnitude of enthusiasm make this a truly exceptional experience. Teams of three horses and riders compete all day earning points for their team. TEAM SPECIFICATIONS: Each team is made up of 3 riders. Open to horses & ponies. Juniors and Adults may all ride on a team together (except D Teams) RIDER SPECIFICATIONS: Professionals are only eligible for A or B Teams. Adults can only ride on A, B, or C Teams. D Team riders must be under 18. HORSE SPECIFICATIONS: Horses may compete on more than one team. ( Horses can be substituted for parade class) A TEAM: Open to any riders- Juniors, Adult Amateurs or Professionals, regardless of show experience. Two Sections -3 Section and 3 6 Section B TEAM: Fences 2 6 Riders must be not have shown higher than 3 at a Recognized Show. C TEAM: Fences 2 Riders must not have shown higher than 2 6 at a Recognized Show. D TEAM: Fences are X Rails. Riders must not have shown higher than 2 at a Recognized show. D Team Riders must be under 18. ENTRY FEES: $ per member includes USEF drug fees of $18 per horse (covers 5 classes: 3 Team classes, Warm Up Round and Parade class.. Riders not required to be members of USEF or USHJA. No non-member fees will be charged. RIDERS DO NOT HAVE TO BE MEMBERS OF USEF. Non member fees will therefore, not be charged. 19 TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS: Determined by totaling up the points awarded for the team and individual classes. Gold Medals are awarded to Championship Teams. Silver Medals are awarded to the Reserve Championship Teams. Bronze Medals are awarded to the third highest point team. SCORING: In a team class, when a rider incurs a fault that would normally be cause for elimination, the team is NOT eliminated. It is scored by adding 40 faults & the maximum number of faults incurred by any rider in the class. ALTERNATES FOR TEAMS: In case of horse or rider injury or illness, alternates will be allowed as follows: Rider substitutes: Any rider who is eligible for that division. Horse Substitutes: Any horse can be used for substitute horse. POSTED JUMPING ORDERS: Posted Jumping Orders will be listed by team name and determined by random drawing. The order will be rotated for the other classes. TIES: Ties for other than first place will remain tied, equal points awarded. There will be a toss for the ribbon. If you have an extra person who needs a team or you have only 2 riders and need another- call us, we ll try to coordinate to complete teams of three. JAMES WALSH MEMORIAL TROPHY: Awarded to an A or B Team rider who exemplifies the highest level of horsemanship, sportsmanship, and in all ways demonstrates exemplary behavior. PATTI AURICCHIO MEMORIAL TROPHY: Awarded to a C or D Team rider who exemplifies the above qualities. Trainers must turn in nominations by 12:00 noon.
