Mr Snowden added that Sangita was disadvantaged by racing keenly throughout the event and attributed this to the filly s performance. HAWKESBURY: Thursday, 20 September 2018 Race 8 Redbank North Richmond Benchmark 64 Handicap 1300m Blazing Beau trainer Mr J. Austin advised the stable was satisfied with the post race condition of the gelding and added that it would be his intention to drop Blazing Beau back in distance and attempt to be ridden with cover. KEMBLA GRANGE: Saturday, 22 September 2018 Race 3 Jeff Penza Maiden Plate 1200m Shinju co-trainer Mr Paul Snowden advised the stable was satisfied with the post race condition of the gelding and will continue with its current preparation. Race 7 Marco Polo Aged Care Services Conditional Benchmark 70 Handicap 1600m Darts Away co-trainer Mr P Jones advised that the stable was satisfied with the post race condition of the gelding and will continue with its current preparation. ROSEHILL GARDENS Saturday 22 September 2018 Race 1 Cabra-Vale Diggers Club Handicap 1300m Quackerjack trainer Mr M Newnham advised that a veterinary examination, which included an endoscope conducted on 23 September 2018, did not reveal any abnormalities. LATE WITHDRAWALS: The Stewards acceded to the following late withdrawal applications due to the downgrade of the track: Race 5 Race 6 Race 7 Race 7 Race 8 Wooshka (Snowden stable) at 9.33am Omineca (trainer C Waller) at 3.48pm Nictock (trainer C Crockett) at 9.13am Jetwings (trainer G Ryan) at 11.22am Metamorphic (trainer C Waller) at 4.59pm

2 RACE 1 ANZ Bloodstock News Plate 1100m God Of Thunder shifted out abruptly on jumping. Raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages. England slow to begin. Rider J McDonald explained that the horse performed below expectations as it was not comfortable on today's track conditions. A post race veterinary examination revealed England to be making an abnormal respiratory noise. Stable representative Mr C Duckworth reported that an endoscopic examination was conducted on the horse on return to the stables which revealed no abnormalities. Heavenly Thunder Raced keenly in the middle stages. RACE 2 JHB Syndications 3yo Fillies Handicap 1200m Aperitif which was fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly and then shortly after the start, had to be checked when crowded between So Taken and Major Wager which shifted in. Major Wager began awkwardly, shifted in, making contact with Aperitif, and became unbalanced. In the early part of the straight, Major Wager raced tight to the inside of Aperitif as that runner maintained its position. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. She's Furline from a wide barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. So Taken shortly after the start was bumped by Major Wager. I'm So Sweet approaching and passing the 1000m, I'm So Sweet and Major Wager were eased to avoid the heels of Rarer Than Rubies (K Nisbet) which shifted in when not quite clear. K Nisbet was advised to ensure she is sufficiently clear when crossing runners in similar circumstances. Rarer Than Rubies from on straightening until the concluding stages, the filly laid out whilst being ridden along, which ultimately provided the opportunity for I'm So Sweet to improve to that runner's inside. A post race veterinary examination revealed Rarer Than Rubies to be slow to recover. Blevio a post race veterinary examination revealed Blevio to be lame (1/5) in the near fore leg. Stable representative Ms L Wadsworth was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to Blevio racing again. RACE 3 Precise Air Handicap 1500m Cambage bumped heavily with One Fire Beach on jumping resulting in both horse's becoming unbalanced and Cambage losing ground. Mr S Singleton, trainer of Cambage, which raced more prominently today, was reminded of his responsibility that he notify the Stewards of any change of tactics in similar circumstances. Palmateer began only fairly. Approaching the 1100m, race keenly and during this time, was continually restrained from the heels of One Fire Beach. Red Chandelier slow to begin and then from a wide barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. Red Chandelier raced keenly for some distance after the 1200m. Girl Tuesday from the outside barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. After the 200m, Girl Tuesday, when placed under pressure, shifted in abruptly. Sojournist leaving the 900m, Cambage commenced to race keenly, shifted out after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of Antelope resulting in Sojournist racing wide and without cover from this point.

3 One fire Beach which had been held up, improved briefly into a tight run between Cambage and Sojournist just prior to the 300m, then had to be steadied when crowded between those two runners, when Cambage rolled out marginally. RACE 4 The Agency Real Estate Handicap 1900m Momentum To Win slow to begin. Dylan's Romance in the early stages, raced keenly. Righteousness leaving the 1500m, got its head up when being restrained from the heels of Night Breaker. Rider K Jennings expressed concerns with the action of the mare during the final 500m and as a result, he eased Righteousness from the race over the final 300m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Trainer Mr M Newnham advised that Righteousness will now be spelled. Having regard to rider K Jennings explanation, a veterinary clearance will be required before the mare is permitted to race again. Night Breaker after beginning very well, was allowed to improve in the early stages whereby it travelled prominently. Scratches - After experiencing some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight, shifted to the inside of The Cartoonist approaching the 300m and then approaching the 250m, raced in restricted room between Dylan's Romance and The Cartoonist. Madame Markievicz rider C Brown explained that the mare did not travel at any stage of today's event, and although it raced wide and without cover for the duration of the event, he nevertheless did not attribute this factor to the mare finishing distant. He added that Madame Markievicz was not entirely comfortable on today's surface and he believed that the testing effort Madame Markievicz experienced at its most recent performance when it ran second on 2 September 2018 may have had a bearing on Madame Markievicz s performance today. The Stewards deemed the performance to be unacceptable and advised co-trainer Mr A Cummings that before the mare is permitted to race again, Madame Markievicz must perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. Semper Fidelis leaving the 500m, Righteousness commenced to tire and lost ground resulting Semper Fidelis also losing ground when positioned behind that runner. Rider J McDonald explained that he considered that the performance of Semper Fidelis to be satisfactory having regard to the mare not being overly suited by today's track conditions. RACE 5 Big Sports Breakfast Handicap 1200m Coolotta began awkwardly. Near the 800m, Coolotta was eased to avoid the heels of Show Me The Honey (A Adkins) which shifted in when not appropriately clear. A Adkins was advised to exercise more care. Fuel began awkwardly. Pembroke Castle slow to begin and then was crowded by Fuel, which began awkwardly and shifted out. Leaving the 400m, Pembroke Castle was shifted to the inside of Under The Thumb to continue into clear running. No Interest approaching and passing the 600m, commenced to race keenly and was restrained from the heels of Coolotta. Victime De L Amour a post race veterinary examination of Victime De L Amour, which travelled wide and without cover throughout the event, revealed no abnormalities. Under the Thumb approaching the 300m, Under The Thumb and Coolotta bumped resulting in Under The Thumb becoming unbalanced.

4 Equal Balance App S Weatherley stated that in his opinion, the gelding did not handle today s track conditions. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. RACE 6 TAB Handicap 1500m Eagle Bay trainer Mr C Waller was fined $100 under AR140A for presenting the gelding in the incorrect gear. Joining the course proper near the 1400m blundered. A post race veterinary examination of Eagle Bay, which raced wide and without cover throughout, revealed no abnormalities. Merovee slow to begin. Godunov from a wide barrier, was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. When questioned, B Avdulla, rider of Godunov, which was resuming from a spell, stated that in the early part of the straight, after observing Eagle Bay had been travelling wide and without cover, identified there would be an opportunity to improve to the inside of that runner and therefore he elected to proceed to the outside of He's A Given early in the home straight. He said, however, Godunov, despite his hard riding, was reluctant to proceed between these two runners and thereafter finished only one paced. Gretzky joining the course proper near the 1400m blundered. Kulnura for some distance approaching the 1000m, raced keenly and was awkwardly positioned on the heels of Gretsky during this time. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. He s A Given about the 600m, got its head up and proved difficult to settle when placed close to the heels of Arraignment. Volpe when questioned, J Collett explained that he had been asked to ride the gelding in a midfield position today, if possible. He said that after beginning well, it became apparent that he would be placed wide when Tahsin maintained its position to his inside, and rather than being caught wide and without cover, he elected approaching the 1200m, to steady and shift behind runners to a position closer to the running rail, albeit further back than anticipated. RACE 7 Iron Jack Handicap 1100m Limbo Soul began awkwardly. Excellent Design the Stewards permitted T Angland to ride the mare ½ kilogram over its declared weight of 55.5kgs. On straightening, Excellent Design was tightened between Prince Mayted and Resin (J McDonald), which was held up and shifted out slightly to improve. J McDonald was reprimanded. Rider T Angland explained that his mount travelled satisfactorily throughout the event, however after he received some interference on straightening, Excellent Design then laboured in the track conditions thereafter. A post race veterinary examination revealed Excellent Design to be coughing in his opinion due to the kick back. Pendeloque an inquiry was opened into the fatality of Pendeloque which collapsed near the 200m. After taking evidence from rider J Innes Jr and trainer Mr G Ryan the inquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed. Mr Ryan was asked to furnish his treatment and veterinary records for Pendeloque. The mare was transported to the University of Sydney (Camden) for a necropsy. Resin for a short distance approaching the 900m, made contact and raced tight with Excellent Design (T Angland), which shifted in to obtain a position behind Limbo Soul. As a result, Resin became awkwardly placed on the heels The Pharoah. T Angland was advised that whilst the Stewards appreciated competitive riding, he nonetheless should exercise due care when attempting similar manoeuvres and his riding on this occasion boarded on breeching a significant riding rule. Prince Mayted near the 300m, became unbalanced, shifted in and bumped Resin.

5 RACE 8 Hyland Race Colours Handicap 1300m Pianissimo was steadied shortly after the start when crowded between Chapelco and Destiny s Own, which shifted out. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Regent began only fairly. What Could Be approaching the 600m, raced tight between Better Not Blue and Pianissimo. App R Dolan was reminded of his obligations to ensure he rides his mounts out at least hands and heels to the winning post where possible. Jericho a post race veterinary examination revealed Jericho to be slow to recover. GENERAL: Summary of whip use The Stewards noted the following riders exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m under AR137A(5)(a)(ii): Race 1 J McDonald (England) 6 strikes Race 4 J Taylor (Dylan s Romance) 6 strikes Race 5 A Adkins (Show Me The Honey) 7 strikes Bearing in mind the totality of whip use, no action was taken. Swab samples were taken from all winners and the following runners: Race 1: Charm Offensive (2), God Of thunder, Heavenly Thunder. Race 2: Major Wager, I m So Sweet, Rarer Than Rubies, So Taken. Race 3: Girl Tuesday, Miss Shanti, Sojournist, Antelope (2), Red Chandelier. Race 4: The Cartoonist, Valentino Rossa, Dylan s Romance, Scratches (2), Righteousness, Momentum To Win, Night Breaker. Race 5: Victime De L Amour, Pembroke Castle, Under The Thumb. Race 6: Arraignment, Tahsin, Volpe (2), Godunov, Kulnura. Race 7: Prince Mayted, The Pharoah, Bombarding, Limbo Soul, Torpenhow. Race 8: Better Not Blue, Piracy, Pianissimo, Chapelco.
