July, No Horse or Pony Entries taken on Show Day. All Equine Exhibitors must have their Premises registered with the DVO and show their Equine Registration Number on their entry form. No late entries. No telephone entries. Fees must accompany entry forms. Member of the Irish Shows Association. Affiliated to the Irish Pony Society.

2 Rules of the Show 1. All exhibits must be bona fide property of the Exhibitor since 1 st May The judges decision as to merit shall be final and objections on other points must be lodged with the Secretary, in writing, on date of Show and must be accompanied by a fee of 50 All objections will be decided by the committee and the fee returned unless the objection is considered frivolous. 3. Where age is a qualification, the committee may in any case direct an examination by the V.S. The committee shall hear any submissions by the exhibitor and shall then decide the matter and the decision shall be final. 4. The term committee in these rules means the group consisting of a Chairman, Secretary, one Treasurer, one Vice Chairman and P.R.O., or any four of them. 5. The judges are empowered to withhold prizes in any class where there is not sufficient competition or merit, and furthermore no second place prize money will be paid unless there are three or more exhibits and no third place prize money will be paid unless there are five or more exhibits in the class. 6. All cups and perpetual trophies won by exhibitors at the 2017 show must be returned to the Secretary, three weeks prior to the 2018 show. Each recipient must sign a form accepting responsibility for cups and trophies before same are presented at the 2018 show. 7. An animal which is the winner of two first prizes will not be eligible to compete in another class unless it is a Qualifier or Championship. 8. The Show Grounds open at 8.00a.m. Judging commences at the times stated in the schedule. 9. Entries in all Horse and Pony classes close on July 3rd The declaration on the entry form must be signed by the exhibitor and must be accompanied by the correct entry fee, otherwise the entry will not be accepted. No Horse or Pony entries accepted on Show Day. Entries may not be changed on Show Day. Entries that fail to show are not entitled to refunds and no refunds will be given in the case of entries being withdrawn. 10. The committee will not be responsible for loss or accident of any kind which may occur to exhibitors, exhibits, visitors, spectators, vehicles, or property of any kind. 11. The committee requests exhibitors to send in their entries as early as possible. 12. Should any matter arise not provided for in the purview of these rules and regulations, the same shall be referred to the Executive Committee, whose decision shall be final, from which there shall be no appeal and entries are only accepted on these conditions. 13. All foals must be haltered and lead in the Show Grounds and during classes. 14. In order to finance current and future development, the National Executive of the Irish Shows Association have placed a Championship Fund levy of 5c in 1 in Horse, Pony and Sheep sections. This fund will be deducted from the prize money to be paid out in these sections. 15. All animals will be shown at owners risk. Exhibitors are advised to have their own public liability insurance up to date. 16. Important Notice Horse-riding is a dangerous sport and all competitors in Ridden Classes are strongly advised, for their own safety, to wear appropriate head gear which complies with up to date safety standards. Prizewinners in classes 8 & 9. 10) The Colt Foal All-Ireland Championship Qualifier. Sponsored by Ennis Municipal Authority. Final at Clarecastle Show Saturday, 1 st. September. 11) Sporthorse Colt or Filly Foal. Class may be divided if there are sufficient entries. 12) Colt or Filly Foal from an Irish Draught Mare and by an Irish Draught Sire. This class is a qualifier for the Western Region Irish Draught Foal Championship. Final at Oughterard Show on Sunday, 26 th. August. Champion and Reserve Champion Foal; 1 st. and 2 nd. 4 Ring 2:- Ridden Hunters. Starts:- 9.30am. Entry Fee: 15. Prize Fund 120. Product may be substituted for some prizes. Ride Judges:- Classes 13 to 20 Ms. Sarah Conway. Classes 21 and 22 - Ms. Lesley Webb. 13) Open Ridden Racehorse to Riding Horse Qualifier. Open to thoroughbred horses that have started under rules on either the track or point to point ridden as a hunter style class to display walk, trot, canter, gallop, rein back and halt. Passport and racing details to be made available for inspection on the day of the show. Competitors must have attained their 15 th birthday. Proper show turnout is essential. One horse to qualify for The Racehorse to Riding Horse Championship Final. Final at Iverk Show on Saturday, 25th. August. 14) Coloured Horse 4 years old and over. 15) Cob 4 years old and over. 16) Lightweight Hunter 4 years old and over. 17) Medium/Heavy weight Hunter 4 years old and over. 18) Small Hunter 4 years old and over, 14.2hh up to 15.3hh. 19) Riding Horse 4 years old and over. 20) Riding Horse confined to Riding Club Members. (Name of Club to be submitted with entry). Prizes in kind. Championship (Classes 14 to 20). 21) The All Ireland Ridden Irish Draught Championship. Prize Fund:- 1,600. Champion 500 and Perpetual Cup; Reserve Champion 300; 3 rd. 200; 4 th. 150; 5 th. 100; 6 th. 50. A prize of 200 will be awarded to the winning breeder. A Prize will be presented for the Combination of the Best Turned out Horse and Rider. Rules and Conditions; Entries are confined to Irish Draught Mares and Geldings, four years old and over to be shown under saddle. Each Entry must be the progeny of an Irish Draught Mare and by an Irish Draught Stallion. The Judges may ride the entries in all paces on either or both reins. 4

5 The Judges will assess the confirmation and movement of each horse in-hand. Exhibitors must have their Passports ready for inspection prior to entry to the Judging Arena. The name of the breeder should accompany each entry. The name of the horse must be the same as that on the horse`s passport. These Rules should be read in conjunction with the rules of The Irish Shows Association. 22) The All Ireland Ridden Hunter Championship. Prize Fund:- 2,600. Champion 1,000 & Perpetual Champion Cup. Reserve Champion 500, 3 rd 300; 4 th 200; 5 th 150; 6 th 100. A prize of 200 will be awarded to the winning breeder. Prizes will be presented for the Best Owner Ridden, the Best 4 year old, and the Best Presentation of Horse and Rider. DISCIPLINE The Irish Shows Association expects and will insist upon appropriate behaviour from all Exhibitors and others participating in any of the activities at our Member Shows and will not tolerate inappropriate behaviour. Inappropriate behaviour shall include but not be limited to the following: Profanity, coarse or vulgar language or gestures towards judges, exhibitors or other Show officials 8

9 Harassment or bullying, including using words or actions that threaten, intimidate or undermine judges or other officials before, during or following Member Show activities Failure to follow rules and/or obey instructions Abusing any animal Disciplinary Procedures: Complaints of misconduct against an Exhibitor or other participant at a Member Show shall be investigated and adjudicated upon by a subcommittee appointed by the Irish Shows Association. The said subcommittee shall consist of three members of the board of the Irish Shows Association and shall be known as the Disciplinary Committee. The Disciplinary Committee shall seek to ensure the existence of consistent, effective, fair and transparent complaint procedures and shall act in accordance with natural and constitutional justice.
