2 Entry Submission: Entries should be mailed to show secretary listed below & must be RECEIVED no later than the closing date. Entries should include Entry Form (See page 3), SWVADA/BREA Release, USEA Release, check payable to BREA or PayPal screenshot, & a Current Negative Coggins test (within 12 months of show date). Incomplete entries may be placed on a waiting list. No entries will be accepted without payment in full. Late entries MAY be accepted at the Show Secretary s discretion. Scratches prior to closing date will receive a full refund less a $5 office fee. After closing date, NO refunds will be given. Directions to GHPEC: 2961 Harborwood Road, Salem, VA, Exit 137 off I-81. Turn towards Salem on Wildwood Road. At intersection with Route 11/460, turn right. Go through two lights. At third light, turn left onto Diuguids Lane. Cross RR tracks and pass first entrance to Green Hill Park. Go another mile to the Equestrian Center trailer entrance on your right. There is separate entrance for vehicles not pulling a trailer further down the road. Other information: Starting times will be ed to competitors and available by phone on the Thursday before the show. Times will also be posted on event Facebook page. All riders, competing or non-competing, at all times on the competition grounds must wear a riding helmet which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag, with the exception of riders age 18 & over competing at the FEI levels & tests at the Prix St. Georges and above. The headgear and harness must be secured and properly fitted. Any rider violating this rule at any time will immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place. All dogs MUST be leashed. Owners of impounded dogs will be fined $35. Lunch will be available on a donation basis. Please plan for drinks and snacks accordingly. Dress is casual, but neat and tidy. Half chaps are allowed. Body protective vests are required for cross country clinic. Medical armbands must be worn when jumping. Ribbons will be awarded to 6 th place. If no age is stated on the entry form, it will be assumed that the rider is a Senior competitor (over 18). Show management reserves the right to combine, divide, or cancel classes as entries warrant. USEF rules will be followed unless otherwise noted by show management. No more than 2 consecutive levels of Combined Tests may be entered. Paid schooling rounds are only permitted after the entry has completed their judged jumping round(s). The cross country course will be open for clinic participants ONLY. Junior riders (18 & under) may ride one dressage test free with a paid entry of at least one test. Cross Country clinic is limited to 8 participants in two groups of four.

5 RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY Blue Ridge Eventing and Southwest Virginia Dressage Associations I,, do hereby acknowledge and agree for the good consideration of being permitted to engage in equine activities sponsored by Blue Ridge Eventing Association and Southwest Virginia Dressage Association (BREA SWVADA) and located at Green Hill Park Equestrian Center in Salem, Virginia, that by engaging in an equine activity, I am participating in an activity that poses potentially serious risk of injury or death to myself and others. By signing this Release and Waiver of Liability, I assume the risk of all of the intrinsic dangers associated with participating in an equine activity, pursuant to sections thorough of the Code of Virginia. The intrinsic dangers associated with participation in equine activities are those dangers and conditions integral to participation in equine activities, including, but not limited to: (1) the propensity of equines to behave in ways that may result in injury, harm, or death to persons on or around them; (2) the unpredictability of an equine s reaction to such things as sounds, sudden movement, and unfamiliar objects, persons, or other animals; (3) certain hazards such as surface and subsurface conditions; (4) collisions with animals or objects; and (5) the potential of an equine activity participant acting in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury to the participant or others, such as failing to maintain control over the equine or not acting within the participant s ability. VA Code Additionally, by signing this Release and Waiver of Liability, I waive and release any and all claims or rights to sue that I or my heirs may have in relation to my engagement in an equine activity and those risks assumed above against BREA, SWVADA, Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism, and any sanctioning organization associated with the show or activity; or the board members, show or activity organizers, show managers, show secretaries, employees, volunteers, or family members of any of the heretofore mentioned, collectively or as individuals. It is my intent to give up those rights and hold the above parties harmless, and I do so knowingly and voluntarily. Furthermore, I agree in consideration for and as condition of my being allowed to participate in this equine activity, to hereby indemnify, save, and hold harmless all of those parties heretofore mentioned, from any and all claims of loss, damage, and/or injury to any third party resulting from, arising out of, during course of, or in connection with my participation in said equine activity. 6 Linda Oberlender Memorial TOC SWVADA and BREA have joined together to present the Linda Oberlender Memorial Test of Choice dressage class. Linda was a believer that each rider should strive to achieve their very best, regardless of the level in which they rode. In honor of Linda, a Test of Choice class will be held annually in which the winner of the class will be awarded a crystal and silver salad bowl perpetual trophy to keep until the following year. The winner will then be presented with a token award to keep for years to come. Proceeds from the class will go to the Linda Oberlender Scholarship Fund. Confidence in the Open Cross Country Clinic We will also be holding a confidence building clinic on the Green Hill Park cross country course! This clinic will be held on the top of the hill and is tailored to each rider s needs. If you wish to simply work on your position over terrain, or wish to tackle jumps to move up a level, this clinic is for you! We will be offering two clinic sessions of four riders each. Clinic will last between 60 to 90 minutes each. Heather and Austin Skeens will be teaching and it is sure to be GREAT!! Clinic is offered in a first come, first served basis so get your entries in EARLY! First session open terrain and cross railers. Second session green and advanced green.
