Those who wish to take part in the Grand Parade and collect their trophies are welcome to do so. Professional photographs are normally taken. Those wanting to participate must make their wishes known to the Secretary to ensure that their trophy is available for the official presentation. 4 SHOW JUMPING CLASSES JUDGE(S) To be Announced Hope Show regrets that there are no British Show Jumping affiliated classes. This decision was taken due to the variable ground conditions and escalating costs in recent years. All Show Jumping Classes are for Local Competitors (15 mile radius of showground). Entry fee for all show jumping classes - 7 per class Prizes for classes st 15 2 nd 10 3 rd 7 4 th rosette THE COMMITTEE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO AMALGAMATE CLASSES IF INSUFFICIENT ENTRIES Competitors will qualify for Cricklands Winter League Finals 2014/ 2015 subject to their terms and conditions. See for further information. Class 1 Height of jumps 50 cms max BEGINNERS ONLY PLEASE! Entrants may compete in Classes 1 & 2 but no other Show Jumping Classes. Rosettes to all entrants. 5 WORKING HUNTER & RIDDEN HUNTER Classes 5 9 are, subject to exhibitors satisfying conditions of entry, qualifiers for the Equestrian Life Working Hunter & Showing Championship to be held in August JUDGE Paul Stringer Stafford All entrants will be required to jump a course of obstacles. Class 5 Ponies not exceeding 133cms, 4 yrs or over, mare or gelding, riders 14yrs or under. Fences not to exceed 55cms. Rosette for best local competitor not placed in first four.* Rosettes to all entrants. Class 6 Class 7 Ponies exceeding 133cms, but not exceeding 143cms, 4 yrs or over, mare or gelding, riders 17yrs or under. Rosette for best Local competitor not placed in first four.* Fences not to exceed 65 cms. Ponies exceeding 143cms, but not exceeding 153cms, 4 yrs or over, mare or gelding, riders any age. Fences not to exceed 75 cms. Class 27 HEAVY HORSE SILVER SPOON AWARD Open to the highest placed mare or filly from Classes 22 26, which has not been awarded a Silver Spoon in the current season. Class 31 HEAVY HORSE TURNOUT CHAMPIONSHIP The winners of classes 29 & 30 to compete for the Wilson Hoyland Trophy. An appearance grant of 200 will be paid to each separate turnout appearing at Hope Show 2014

10 SPOTTED & COLOURED HORSE CLASSES Judge Mr F Bullock Stoke-on-Trent Open to spotted, skewbald, piebald, painted horses and ponies of any type or sex, plaited or unplaited. Subject to judge s discretion, classes may be split if entries allow, according to type, age or size and prizes given accordingly. Entry fees for classes per class. It would be appreciated if exhibitors would note the age, colour and type of each animal on the entry form. Class 32 Open Youngstock. 13 LEAD REIN / MOUNTED FANCY DRESS To be Judged by the Show President s wife Class 48 Open to any age, individuals or groups. Traditional, humorous or topical. Hard hats which comply with EN1384,PAS 015 or PAS accredited MUST be worn at all times when mounted or leading. Rosettes to all entries. Prizes; 1 st - 15, 2 nd - 10, 3 rd - 7, 4 th rosette ENTRY FEE - 5 Horse(s)/ponies in this class must already be exhibiting in other horse section classes at the show. GYMKHANA GAMES: Bending, Flag race, Walk - Trot Canter Lead & Apple Bobbing. Entries prior to show day preferred but no entry will be accepted after 12 noon on the day and then only from those competitors already exhibiting in other classes at the show. Entry fee; 5.00 per horse/pony. The entry fee allows entry in all four games. Points will be awarded to entrants placed 1 st to 4 th in each game. Rosettes will be awarded for 1 st to 4 th prize-winners in each age group/class, based on total points from all four games. The winner of each class to receive a prize. Class G1 Class G2 Class G3 Class G4 Rider 8 yrs and under, pony 138cms and under (lead reins permitted) Rider 9 12 yrs, pony 148cms and under Rider yrs, pony 148cms and under Rider 17 yrs and over, pony 143cms and over. Gymkhana prizes very kindly donated by Wm Eyre & Sons Brough Corn Mill Competitors please note; All ponies/horses must be 5 yrs or over, equine passports may be required to be shown for verification. The size of the horse/pony must be appropriate for the height and weight of the rider. All riders MUST wear hard hats to British Standard EN 1384, ASTM F 1163 or PAS 015 AND Riding or Jodhpur boots. THE ORGANISER S DECISION ON ELIGIBILITY TO COMPETE SHALL BE FINAL

14 FULL RULES OF THE SHOW CAN BE FOUND ON THE SHOW WEBSITE OR CAN BE SUPPLIED ON SHOW DAY ON REQUEST BUT SOME IMPORTANT CONDITIONS OF ENTRY ARE THAT ALL COMPETITORS/EXHIBITORS AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Passports must be carried when travelling to and from the show and must be available for verification of age and identification of an animal by a judge or other official if requested. Failure to comply will result in immediate disqualification from all classes entered and forfeit of ant entry fees paid or prizes awarded. 2. Where the height of a horse or pony is specified in any class, the judge, steward or other official may require such an animal to be measured unless the animal has a current official measurement certificate issued by the Joint Measurement Scheme. 3. The parent or guardian must, if required, produce to the Secretary, a certified copy of the entry of birth of any child competing in the children s classes within seven days of the show. 4. The committee reserve the right to amalgamate, divide or cancel any classes and refuse entry to, or remove from any class any person(s); (a) that behave in an irresponsible or offensive manner or (b) whose horse/pony they consider unfit to compete. 5. Hard hats to the current British Standard MUST be worn at all times, with chinstraps fastened when mounted, anywhere on the showground, and either jodhpur boots or long riding boots. 6. All ridden horses/ponies must be four years old or over. 7. In all matters of dispute THE JUDGE S DECISION IS FINAL. 8. Objections may be lodged with the show secretary in writing up to 15 minutes after the completion of a class and must be accompanied with a deposit of 100 which will be returned if the complaint is upheld. 9. The exercising of horses/ponies will only be allowed in designated areas; (a) collecting rings which are specifically for this purpose (b) the box park - in clear and open areas only - IF IT IS DEEMED SAFE TO DO SO. 10. All exhibitors and competitors must be covered by a Public Liability Policy including show use. The Society reserves the right to require any exhibitor to produce proof that a suitable Policy is in force.
