2 3 GENERAL RULES & CONDITIONS Please Read Carefully The National Arabian Stud Horse Show is conducted under the rules of the Arabian Horse Society of Australia Limited, together with the rules and definitions printed in this Schedule. Copies of the current AHSA Rule Book are available from the Secretary. CLOSING DATE OF ENTRIES The closing date for entries is Friday 9 th October Entries must be postmarked by this date or will not be accepted. FAXED OR ED ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. A PENALTY OF $55 WILL BE INCURRED FOR ENTRIES POST MARKED AFTER 9 th October REFUNDS - Refund of entries will not be made under any circumstances after the closing date of entries ie. Friday 9 th October STABLING OF EXHIBITS - The cost of stabling will be as follows (GST Inclusive): Stable Fee $25.00 per day (or part thereof); Bedding: Shavings $14.00 per bag; Stable Bond: $75.00 per stable payable on each stable, which is refundable when the stable is inspected, found to be completely empty and a Passed Stable Bond slip is provided to the committee. Stabling days are worked out as starting from 5pm the night before i.e. if you need a stable for Thursday & Friday the starting time is 5pm on Wednesday night until 5pm on Friday night. Please note straw will not be provided though if competitors prefer to have straw they are welcome to arrange delivery themselves. Bags of shavings purchased at the show will be charged at $25.00 per bag. Under no circumstances are stables to be changed after allocation. This rule will be strictly enforced. DAY PARKING FEE - There is a day parking fee for those competitors working out of their floats at a cost of $10.00 per day (GST Inclusive). Day parking will be in the North Truck area. Unless you intend to leave your horse/s at the showground overnight, please elect to day park rather than request a stable. This will ensure those travelling distances will have adequate stabling available. CAMPING - There are 2 types of accommodation available at Horsley Park:- Powered Camp Sites (for tents, caravans, floats or trucks supplied by the exhibitor) at $25.00 per night or the Demountable Cabins at $40.00 per night (prices include GST). Bookings must be made. COMPETITORS PLEASE NOTE - All horses MUST have registrations finalised with correct registration numbers available at the closing date of entries. All horses entered without registration numbers MUST provide these registration numbers prior to the printing of the catalogue. Failure to comply will make the horse ineligible to compete. Pending registrations will NOT be accepted at the time of cataloguing. TIMETABLE OF EVENTS - The Timetable will be available approximately 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the show. Exhibitors will be notified by mail of the timetable of events and the allocation of stables (where possible), approximately 2 weeks before the show. The starting times in the timetable are final and will only be changed if a ring is running late. No class will start ahead of the advised time. EVERY EFFORT WILL BE MADE TO RUN THE CLASSES AS ADVISED IN SCHEDULE. IN THE EVENT OF ENTRIES EXCEEDING PREVIOUS YEAR S NUMBERS, SOME EVENTS MAY NEED TO BE MOVED TO ANOTHER RING/DAY TO ACCOMMODATE NUMBER OF ENTRIES. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED IF THIS IS THE CASE. SHOW OFFICE - This office will be open during the following times: Wednesday 18th November: 2pm 5pm All other days: 7am 11am; 1pm - 5pm EXHIBIT NUMBERS - A charge of $3.00 per exhibit number (GST Inclusive) must be paid with entry fees. Numbers to be collected from the show office during the hours listed above. EXHIBITORS NOT WEARING THE CORRECT EXHIBIT NUMBER AS PER THE CATALOGUE WILL NOT BE JUDGED. COMMITTEE ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY - It is the policy of the Committee to see that all due care is taken to protect property but the Committee shall not be liable to any person in case of loss or damage by reason of any defect, accident, negligence or neglect, however arising. CHEQUES & OTHER NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENTS - Any cheque or negotiable instrument received or accepted by the Committee shall be deemed to have been received as a conditional payment only and subject to payment upon presentation. Any exhibitor who has had cheques unpaid upon presentation, or who has defaulted on any payment, is on a STRICTLY CASH ONLY BASIS for twelve months from the date of the above-mentioned occurrence. Bounced cheques and declined credit cards will incur a $10 admin charge plus bank fees. NB: PLEASE KEEP A RECORD OF ENTRIES LODGED, AS TELEPHONE ENQUIRIES REGARDING THIS MATTER ARE TIME CONSUMING. THE COMMITTEE SUGGESTS THAT ENTRIES BE SENT BY CERTIFIED MAIL OR THAT YOU OBTAIN AN AUSTRALIA POST PROOF OF POSTAGE RECEIPT IF WORRIED THAT ENTRIES COULD GO ASTRAY IN THE MAIL. MEASURING - Exhibitors entered in height classes for which height is limited MUST produce a current height certificate or MUST be measured by the official Hack Council measurer, (at a cost to be advised), prior to competing. A copy of the horse s registration papers MUST be produced before the horse is issued with a certificate and horses must be wearing a bit whilst being measured. Exhibits with a lifetime height certificate or current EA or Showhorse Council height certificate should include a copy with their entries and they will have their exhibit number stamped prior to the collection of exhibitor bags at the show, and will therefore avoid having to present their exhibit to the measurer at the show. The marshalling stewards in all classes for which height restrictions apply will inspect this stamp. Exhibitors transferred to another height class will require a TRANSFER AUTHORITY FORM obtained from the show office or measurer. The completed TAF is to be handed to the ring Marshall immediately prior to the commencement of judging of the class to which the entry has been transferred. An allowance of 1cm is made for shoes. Hours for measuring will be advised prior to the show.

3 4 PRIZES The following Ribbons will be awarded as follows: Up to 6 horses placed to fourth Between 7-10 horses placed to fifth 10 horses and over placed to sixth Youth Classes will be placed to sixth. DIVIDING OF CLASSES - Should entries warrant, classes may be divided according to height, gender or date of birth, at the committee s discretion. At the closing date of entries should numbers in classes be insufficient, classes may be combined at the committee s discretion. In the case of a Performance Class NO more than 12 horses will be on the circle at any one time. EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE - No exhibitors will be permitted to enter the ring once the Marshall has closed the ring, (handed the ring card over to the steward), however, horses which are marked as presented but delayed in another class may be allowed in to the ring at the discretion of the Ring Steward. Every effort will be made to avoid timetable clashes but the Committee accepts no responsibility. Efforts will be made to timetable events on the day given but not necessarily in the order shown in the schedule; this will depend on the number of entries per class. JUNIOR JUDGING - Entrants should enter the class number and their names and date of birth in the Rider section of the entry form. It is not compulsory to be a member or to have horses entered in the show. Each competitor will be asked to participate in the judging of one led class. A judging card system will be used with competitors required to place their first four choices and give reasons for each selection. SPECIAL AWARDS MARJORY HIRST MEMORIAL AWARD FOR MOST SUCCESSFUL YOUTH COMPETITOR for the highest point score in the Youth Ring (Ring 2 on Sunday). This winner will receive a voucher for riding lessons from Springmead Stud to a value of $ This competition is based on one horse/one rider i.e. the horse must be ridden by the same rider in all events. As well only points gained by each individual horse are counted, not numerous horses for the one rider. Points are awarded as follows: 1 st 6 points; 2 nd 5 points etc. In the event of a tie, the winners will share the prize. AMBITION LEGACY AWARD - There will be prize money of $ sponsored by Mulawa Arabian Stud. This award is to be known as the Ambition Legacy Award for the Champion Yearling Arabian Gelding, Champion Yearling Arabian Filly & Champion Yearling Arabian Colt, the prizemoney to be split between the three championships. KAHLUA MEMORIAL SASH - This sash is to be awarded to any Partbred or Anglo Arabian, which is awarded Champion in both their Halter & Saddle Sections at this show (Double Registered not included). S.A. MAXWELL SASH - This class is for Arabian and Arabian Derivative Mares who are 5 years old & over on 1 st August 2015 and is to be judged on Saturday evening. BASKHAN MEMORIAL SASH - This class is for Arabian and Arabian Derivative Males who are 5 years old and over on 1 st August 2015 and is to be judged on Saturday evening. CLASS DESCRIPTION: (For both above classes). To be judged as Open Ridden Hack Classes. Horses MUST be registered with the AHSA. Horses are to be presented, groomed & ridden as open hacks ie. English Riding Gear, Gloves, Weymouth Bridles (ie. bit and bradoon, not pelham), Rosettes or English Plaits (no running plaits) & English Saddle essential. Hacking Canes, Riding Crops and/or spurs are optional. NO DRESSAGE WHIPS allowed. Judged by accredited hack judge who will assess quality, manners and paces. Maximum of 3 horse/rider combinations however all horses must have a suitably attired rider at all times. No horses are to be presented before the judge unmounted. JESS GREENHALGH MEMORIAL CHALLENGES This class is for horses 4 years old & over on 1 st August The horses will be judged as both led and saddle horses and the 2 scores will be tallied to give an overall winner. All horses MUST be registered with the AHSA. Maximum of 3 horse/rider combinations however all horses must have a suitably attired handler/rider at all times. No horses are to be presented before the judge unmounted during the saddle section of the class. CLASS DESCRIPTION: To be judged as Open Ridden Hack Class. Horses are to be presented, groomed & ridden as open hack English Riding Gear, Gloves, Weymouth, Pelham or Snaffle Bridles, Rosettes or English Plaits (no running plaits) & English Saddle essential. Hacking Canes, Riding Crops and/or spurs are optional. NO DRESSAGE WHIPS allowed. Judged by accredited hack judge who will assess quality, manners and paces. Ribbons to 10 th place from the NSW AHA Inc. Once a horse has won this class, it may NOT compete in the class again for five (5) years i.e SPONSORSHIP Mr Les Greenhalgh, his daughter, Karen Allen (nee Bruce), and other family members have kindly donated two engraved perpetual shields, which are held in the foyer of the AHSA, as well as individual shields which will be awarded to the winners of each Challenge. SNAFFLE BIT MATURITY - For horses 4 years old on 1 st August One horse/one rider combinations only. MUST BE RIDDEN IN A SNAFFLE BIT. CAMELOT CHALLENGE - This class is for horses 3 years old on 1 st August 2015 that have been started under saddle. Please note this challenge has been moved to the 2016 East Coast Arabian Championships to allow current 3yo exhibits to commence their newcomer saddle year as of 1 st January 2016.

4 5 BURREN-DAH SHUHAYNI TROPHY - Sponsored by Burren-dah Stud. This trophy, being $ cash, a garland and a rug, is awarded to the Supreme Saddle Horse of the Show. BEST NOVICE OF SHOW - Sponsored by Burren-dah Stud. This trophy, being $ cash, a garland and a rug, is awarded to the Best Novice Saddle Horse of the Show. D AMORS SHAKARNY KHAN MEMORIAL TROPHY Sponsored by Monarch Park Arabians. This award goes to the Champion and Reserve Champion Senior Arabian Gelding in memory of Khan who died whilst competing at the Australian Championships in Two engraved perpetual shields hang in the foyer of the AHSA and individual shields are awarded. SHIRANNA SASHES (JUNIOR & SENIOR) Halter classes to be judged by a National AHSA Panel Judge. For Arabian Derivatives who carry a minimum of 50% Arabian blood as stated on the AHSA Stud Book. SPONSORSHIP A garland sponsored by Shiranna Garlands for the winner - sashes to 6 th place provided by NSW AHA. DEFINITIONS A NOVICE is a horse, which has not won a first place in a similar event at an AA class show as at the closing date of entries. A similar event is defined as any hack show type ridden class. MUST BE RIDDEN IN A SNAFFLE BIT. A NEWCOMER is a horse that has not competed under saddle in any competition prior to January 1 st, An INTERMEDIATE is a horse that which has not won a first place at Intermediate or Open level or a Championship (Intermediate or Open) at a show at the closing date of entry for the grading of that event. PROGENY GROUPS - Entrants in Progeny Groups must be one year old or over and be entered in at least one other class at the show. BROODMARES - A brood mare is a mare which has a foal at foot or which is due to foal during the current breeding season (i.e. between 1st August and following 31st July) or has delivered a foal registered by the Society in the previous 2 years or a Pregnancy Certificate to foal in the next breeding season. Pregnancy Certificate or A.H.S.A. documentation should be available and supplied with entries if required. If exhibiting a Brood Mare with a foal at foot, said foal must be led by a competent handler, they must not be running free next to their dam. hacking canes with or without flapper. Refer Rule 22.2 of the AHSA 2015 Rule Book. SIDESADDLE - Horses must be ridden by a female and are judged as for lady s hack. Before classes are to be judged, a gear check should be made by the Judge if necessary. Check for: Safety stirrup, surcingle (balance girth) and that the girth is safe and fitted correctly. All saddles must have a safety stirrup. All youth competitors MUST wear approved safety helmet. Refer to Rule 23 of the AHSA 2015 Rule Book. WORKING STOCKHORSE - To be judged 80% pattern work and 20% ability of rider and appointments as per rule 27.2 AHSA 2015 Rule Book. Competitors will perform the workout as per rule 27.2 of the AHSA 2015 Rule Book. WESTERN PLEASURE - To be judged 70% on performance & manners, 30% on conformation, quality and presentation. Horses will be shown both ways on the ring at the walk, jog & lope on a reasonably loose rein. Individual workouts are not required. Refer to Rule 26 of the AHSA 2015 Rule Book. SHOW HUNTER CLASSES - Horses competing in this section may also compete in other sections of the show. To be judged according to Rule 22.3 of the AHSA 2015 Rule Book. HARNESS - Harness Class will be judged as a Championship class. No place ribbons will be awarded. To be judged according to Rule 24.1 of the AHSA 2015 Rule Book. ENDURANCE CLASS - To be judged according to Rule 18 of the AHSA 2015 Rule Book. CLASSIC/BEST HEAD & TROT - Winners of Classic/Best Head & Trot classes are not eligible for their respective age Championships. COLTS/STALLIONS - No Colt or Stallion is permitted to be handled/ridden/driven by persons under 17 years of age. PRIZEMONEY - Prizemoney where applicable will be sent by way of cheque to the address shown on the winning exhibit s entry form, following the conclusion of the show. Cheques will be made payable to the registered owner of the winning exhibit. No prizemoney will be paid at the show. COSTUME - AHSA Ltd Rules apply as per rule 25 of the AHSA 2015 Rule Book. To be judged 50% for costume and 50% horse s manners and paces. Trappings must not hang below the knees or hocks of the horse. All youth competitors in costume MUST wear approved safety helmets and boots with their costumes. BRIDLE PATH HACKS - To be judged 80% performance and manners and 20% condition and conformation. Horses will be judged at the walk, trot and canter in both directions on the ring. The judge may ask for extensions. There are no individual workouts. All English bits eligible,

5 6 SWABBING OF EXHIBITS - Random swabbing of any exhibit competing at the show may be required at the discretion of the Committee. It is a condition of entry of the show that permission is given by the registered owner for all or any exhibits entered to be swabbed by a qualified veterinarian should the Committee so request. COMPETITORS PLEASE NOTE: UNLESS PAYMENT ACCOMPANIES A SIGNED ENTRY FORM, ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. IF A STAMPED SELF ADDRESSED ENVELOPE IS NOT INCLUDED WITH ENTRIES, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE EXHIBITOR NOTES CONFIRMING YOUR ENTRIES OR A TIMETABLE. PROFESSIONAL HANDLER, TRAINERS & RIDERS PLEASE NOTE: Entry forms filled out for client horses MUST be accompanied by a letter SIGNED BY THE REGISTERED OWNER giving their authorisation for you to sign the entry form on their behalf. $30 per day Professional Insurance plus Professional Liability Declaration to be signed or copy of current Certificate of Currency to be supplied. INSURANCE - It is a condition of entry that appropriate liability forms be completed and signed by all those people who will either handle, ride or drive a horse whilst at the show. Wristbands will be issued to those who sign forms and NO handler/rider/driver will be allowed entry to a ring without wearing a wristband. ALL handlers/riders/drivers must complete and sign the AHSA Liability Declaration form whilst those requiring $10 insurance coverage PER DAY of the show must complete and sign the Registered Participant Application form and pay the Non Member Participant s fee of $10.00 FOR EACH DAY THEY WILL BE COMPETING AT THE SHOW with their entries. RIDDEN HORSES - All horses competing in saddle classes must be 4 years of age and over, unless a class specifies another eligible age. CODE OF BEHAVIOUR CARD SYSTEM - A card system will be used at this year s show to deter types of behaviour (Reportable Conduct) wherever occurring on the grounds and at any times during the show including events. Reportable Conduct includes types of behaviour which are cruel or abusive to horses; including but not limited to inappropriate use of whips, handlers/riders witnessed striking a horse with a whip or other implement whether or not it leaves a mark, chasing horses with plastic or rattles outside the ring, intimidating horses by threatening them with a whip or body language that causes them to run backwards, crouch, buckle at the knees, roll their eyes in fear, etc, yanking, chain abuse and mistreatment of horses, and also other behaviour by competitors and handlers and including but not limited to physical or verbal abuse of any Official, refusal to comply with the direction of any Official and any behaviour which may bring the show or good horsemanship into disrepute. Show Officials, Committee and Judges will be empowered to show either a Yellow Card or a Red Card to any person on the grounds for any act of Reportable Conduct observed by them or upon evidence given to them. The decision as to whether any act is Reportable Conduct shall be in the absolute discretion of the Official showing the card. A Yellow Card is a first and only warning. Any person who infringes after having already received a Yellow Card at any time during the show shall be shown a Red Card whereupon they shall immediately be disqualified from the show and for all events for which they may have entered and shall forthwith be ejected from the grounds. The penalties applicable for the showing of a Red Card shall be in addition to any action the NSW AHA Inc may take subsequently in respect of Reportable Conduct. Any Official who shows either a Yellow Card or a Red Card shall, as soon as is practicable thereafter, report the issue of such Card to the Committee giving particulars of the Reportable Conduct and the person to whom the Card was shown. Where the horse is concerned, Cardable Offences will be specifically but not limited to: (1) Any horse who mouths to his handler like a foal does to an older horse; that handler shall have a Red Card and instant dismissal. This is not a normal horse reaction to a human and clearly denotes abuse. (2) Any handler who strikes a horse, especially on the front legs, unless the horse has clearly misbehaved and at the discretion of the Disciplinary Committee, shall have a Yellow Card. (3) If a horse buckles over or retracts their legs in fear, the handler will get a Yellow Card. (4) Any handler who delivers a full strength shank or excessively shanks a horse who is already standing still and has been standing still for the last few moments shall receive a Yellow Card. This is to be differentiated from reprimanding a horse who has just clearly misbehaved, i.e. won t stand still at all, is striking out etc. (5) If a horse makes a half rear at his handler with ears back and front legs extended forwards towards his handler, that handler will receive a Yellow Card. No horse does this without provocation. It is clearly differentiated from a vertical rear where the horse has his knees tucked, his ears forward and is just standing up in natural exuberance. (6) If a horse takes more than three (3) steps back from his handler at speed when the handler attempts to pose the horse, that handler will receive a Yellow Card. The Judge and Stewards and Official s discretion and decision will be final. SHAKERS - Shakers will not be permitted at this show. USE OF BUGGIES AT SIEC - Anyone driving golf carts or buggies during the show at SIEC, must sign a waiver with SIEC Management staff and be issued a wristband BEFORE they can drive such vehicles. All drivers must be licensed drivers and adhere to public road rules where applicable. No golf cart and/or buggy can be driven after dusk without headlights. No intoxicated persons can drive golf carts and/or buggies. As the roads through SIEC are public roads, the Police will be randomly patrolling these roads during our event DRESSAGE - Horses or ponies may not be ridden by more than one rider. Three tests per rider/horse combination applies and tests must be consecutive. Horses with 60% or more grading points cannot compete at a lower level. Conducted under EA rules with EA tests. Sashes to 6 th place. Champion and Reserve will be awarded for the highest point score in the same level ie. Preliminary & Novice. All Championships will go towards the Dressage Triple Crown.

6 7 BODY GREASE Any horse/s that appears to have any form of body grease substance applied to their coat, face makeup excluded, will be prohibited from exhibiting in any classes at this Show. PUREBREDS - All purebred stallion and mare owners and derivative stallion owners must be financial members of AHSA. PRESIDENTS CUP AWARD Special Sash donated by President Greg Liddle to be awarded to the Purebred that is the crowd favourite. A voting system will be available on Sunday at the show. TRIPLE CROWN Please note to be eligible for triple crown you must be a current financial member of NSW AHA and have won the same championship class or dressage test at Arabian State Titles, National Arabian Stud Horse Show and East Coast Arabian Championships in the same show season. A minimum of 3 horses competing per class is required to be considered for a triple crown. Only Breed Halter, ridden classes and Dressage are eligible. HENDRA NSW AHA acknowledges the policy by Equestrian NSW to manage the Hendra virus in the state of New South Wales. Therefore it will not be compulsory to vaccinate horses against the Hendra Virus for the NSW National Arabian Stud Horse Show. All competitors and horse owners have a responsibility to practice good biosecurity, good hygiene and decontamination of their equipment to minimise the risk of spreading infectious diseases. In line with the new vaccination policy for New South Wales and acknowledging the control of the Hendra Virus rests with everyone the committee of National Arabian Stud Horse advocate all competitors and horse owners to vaccinate all their horses, competition or otherwise, especially when living in a high risk bat habitat area. DOGS PLEASE LEAVE YOUR DOGS AT HOME. Any persons bringing dogs onto the grounds will be asked to remove them. BBQ- Please join us on Friday and Saturday evenings for a bbq and get together, approximate time will be 6.30pm

7 8 15. NON-PROFESSIONAL CLASSES The Non-Pro Rule officially came into effect from 1/1/2015. It replaced the Amateur Owner Rule The Non-Pro Rule applies to persons of any age Any competitor who receives financial remuneration (money) for showing another person s horse within three (3) years prior to the event would not be eligible for Non-Pro status, they can therefore not compete in specified Non-Pro classes A Non-Pro is a person who, regardless of his/her equestrian skills and/or accomplishments, in the last three (3) years has not accepted financial remuneration (money) for services usually provided by a professional in the areas of breaking, riding, training, schooling, driving, halter preparation, showing in halter or under saddle Any person wishing to compete in Non- Pro classes shall be required to complete a Non-Pro Declaration form at each event they attend to declare their Non-Pro status. These forms are available from the A.H.S.A. website and office. The completed form is to be submitted to the show secretary for the event The Non-Pro is not required to own the horse they show, but is required to pay the Day Participant fee for insurance cover. The registered owner of the horse competing must be a current financial member of A.H.S.A A Professional is a person who, in the past three years: a. Has accepted financial remuneration (money) for breaking, riding, training (halter and/or saddle horses),schooling, driving, halter preparation, showing in halter or under saddle. b Has conducted clinics or seminars or given instruction in showing, training or riding for which remuneration has been received. c. Has performed the above list of activities for which another person in his/her family or corporation, which a member of his/her family controls, will receive financial remuneration. d. Has performed such activities while accepting financial remuneration for employment in another capacity for an employer or member of the said employer s family who owns, boards or trains the involved horse. e. Has ridden, driven, or exhibited in halter in horse shows any horse he/she or a member of his/her family accepts financial remuneration for boarding or training The following activities shall not affect the non-pro status of a person who is otherwise qualified: a. The writing of books pertaining to horses b. Accepting financial remuneration for judging or stewarding c. Speaking at workshops, clinics, seminars or youth training days in a voluntary capacity where they do not accept a fee for their services d. Receiving prize money e. Holding the occupation of farrier, veterinarian, racing trainer or trotting trainer f. Owning or operating a saddlery, stud or breeding farm or boarding stables g. Having the occupation of school teacher, teaching equine studies in a classroom where the curriculum is set from a text book

8 15.6 Explanations a.basically the rule means that anyone who is employed(paid)by a person or training establishment to do duties other than riding, breaking, training of halter or saddle horses, schooling, driving, or showing horses is eligible for Non-Pro status. Plaiting horses is not considered a professional activity that would affect Non-Pro status. b. Spouses and immediate family of a trainer are also able to be classed as Non-Pro, as long as they are not involved with the breaking, training, schooling, riding or showing of any of the horses the trainer is being paid to work. c. People who board horses are eligible for Non-Pro status as long as they do not ride, show, train or do any of the tasks in 15.4 of the rule, for the boarders. If they did they would be involved in receiving financial remuneration (money) indirectly for those tasks upon payment of boarding fees COACHING OR VERBAL INSTRUCTIONS: No coaching, verbal instructions or signals are to be given from the sideline or in the Marshalling area whilst awaiting the class. It is the Steward's responsibility to warn any offending parties that their behaviour is unacceptable. SPORTHORSE CLASSES The aim of the Sport Horse class is to reward the athleticism of the Arabian and Derivative horse. This class is to be judged 50% on conformation and 50% on movement. Arabian type is not a consideration. Ideally, the horse is shown to the Judge in a natural stance for inspection, then asked for walk and trot. In saddle classes, the canter will also be asked for. This is not a hack class. Horses should be clean and neatly presented, plaiting is not a requirement. Handlers / Riders should be neatly dressed appropriately - in riding gear or smart casual clothes Safety helmets should be worn in saddle classes. 9
