2 2017 WINTER GALA SUNDAY 23rd July $15.00 per class or $40 PER HORSE/PONY all classes (SUNDAY) Neither the organising committee nor the Geraldton Combined Equestrian Club accepts any liability for any accident, damage, injury or illness to owners, riders, spectators or property whatsoever. The committee reserves the right to cancel, alter or combine any classes or alter the program if deemed necessary. Multiple registered horses may compete in all eligible classes either ridden or led. CLASSES WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE ON THE DAY IF THERE ARE THREE OR MORE HORSES/PONIES OF A BREED NOT LISTED IN THE PROGRAM CLASSES WILL NOT BE HELD UP Protests must be made in writing to the organising committee together with a fee of $50.00 within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the class. Fee will be forfeited if protest is dismissed. PROOF OF HORSE REGISTRATION MAY BE REQUESTED ON THE DAY All riders ring 1 to wear approved safety helmets / All handlers/riders of stallions to be over 18yrs Lead rein handlers to be 18yrs and over. Led riders to be 8yrs or under MEASURING IS AVAILABLE ON SUNDAY 23rd JULY 8am-12pm A DAY MEMBERSHIP FEE OF $ IS AVAILABLE FROM GWRC FOR THE SUNDAY BREED AND RIDDEN CLASSES FOR NON MEMBERS OF THE GCEC, SHC, EWA, ASH,GWRC or AQHA ALL RIDERS MUST BE A GCEC, SHC or EFA MEMBER TO COMPETE IN THE SADDLE HORSE CLASSES ON Saturday 22th July 2017 Any enquires please contact: Lisa Vince (GCEC) Mshell Ward (GWRC) GREENOUGH WESTERN RIDING CLUB Explanation of the class types Youth: This class is for RIDERS under the age of 18 years. Must wear riding helmet to Australian Safety Standards. Beginner: (walk/jog) This class is for RIDERS aged 18 years or over and who have VERY LITTLE or NO experience or confidence in the Western ring. Riders are to ride two-handed in a snaffle. Open: Riders who are confident in walk, jog & lope. Riders must ride one-handed in a shank on horses that are over 6 years of age, and two-handed in a snaffle on horses under 6 years of age. Open Riders must wear AQHA approved gear in all classes & AQHA correct clothing in all classes. The correct Event Attire and Gear in Youth and Beginner classes is not compulsory but attire and gear should be neat, clean, tidy and safe. The Judge, Ring Steward or Risk Management may refuse entry if gear is deemed unsafe. Long Sleeve Shirts and Jeans are acceptable. Riding boots must be worn by all riders. Riders 18 years and over may wear a western style hat or an approved Riding Helmet (to Australian Safety Standards). GWRC Committee reserves the right to refuse entry at a level if the rider/horse combinations are deemed capable of competing at a higher level. All riders must stay in the same class level for the show. Horses shall at all times be treated humanely and with dignity, respect and compassion. AQHA Animal Welfare Policy must be adhered to at all times. All Riders agree to ride AT THEIR OWN RISK and sign a disclaimer form to state this intent before the commencement of riding at the show. Committee requests that all Stallions and Colts be kept in Panels/Yards at a suitable distance from other horses when not competing. The Judge s decision is final and is not to be approached regarding their decision. All Protests, Complaints and Recommendations are to be in writing and submitted to the GWRC Committee for review at next club meeting. before the Next Committee Meeting to ensure it is a Meeting Agenda Item.

There is a significant risk that serious INJURY or DEATH may result from participating in horse related competition or activities. I knowingly and freely assume all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the Greenough Western Riding Club Inc., the management/organiser or others and I voluntarily PARTICIPATE at my OWN RISK and assume sole responsibility for any injury, death or property damage I may suffer that arises from my participation in horse related activities.

11 I understand and acknowledge the dangers associated with the consumption of alcohol or any mind altering drugs before and during the activity and I take full responsibility for any injury, loss or damage associated with their consumption. I agree not to drink alcohol or take drugs prohibited by law before or during any horse activity.
