4 THE EGYPTIAN ARABIAN PERFORMANCE HORSE AWARD PROGRAM HANDBOOK 2018 Competition Year The Pyramid Society s Egyptian Arabian Performance Horse Award Program (EAPHAP) is designed to recognize performance achievements of Straight Egyptian, Egyptian Sired/Bred horses in a variety of disciplines. This program offers awards based on points earned throughout the year in various performance competitions. Points are earned based on participation and competitive placement/scoring within a discipline with increased point allotments for championships, special recognition (high point awards or best condition--endurance), and for achievements at regional, national and FEI events. In addition to competition in Rated Shows, Schooling Shows (non-rated Shows) will also earn points towards awards. AWARDS Exclusive custom awards will be presented to the owners of the highest scoring Straight Egyptian and Egyptian Sired/Bred horse in each division. Breeders of the winners will also be recognized. Awards will be presented during an exclusive Awards Ceremony at the 2019 Egyptian Event and winners will be featured in a variety of digital and print promotional venues. ELIGIBILITY Participation in this program is FREE and Pyramid Society membership is NOT required for owners of enrolled horses. Horses MUST be Straight Egyptian or Egyptian Sired/Bred as defined by The Pyramid Society. Visit or contact The Pyramid Society for eligibility verification. Every participating horse will require a COMPLETED enrollment form. Forms submitted without complete information may not be processed. Only shows conducted within the geographic area of North America are eligible. Horses must be registered with one of the following registries: o Arabian Horse Association o Canadian Arabian Horse Registry Proof of registration must be available upon request 4 P a g e

12 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) If my horse competes in Sport Horse In Hand classes or Halter classes can I submit these for this Program? No. This program is to recognize horses that are competing under saddle. Can I include on my entry form charity horse shows my horse competes in? Yes. As long as the show dates fall within the specific timeframe for program eligibility. If this is a non-rated Show, it will be scored as a Schooling show. As an owner, do I have to be the one riding my horse in competition? No. You may have a professional, amateur, or junior rider compete with your horse as long as they follow the rules set forth by the show committee/governing organization. Can my horse compete in more than one division? Yes. Use the appropriate entry forms that correspond to the divisions/disciplines that your horse competed in. Your horse will be eligible to compete for awards in every division they enter. If my horse wins an award, do I have to attend The Egyptian Event to receive my recognition? No. It is always special to have award recipients in person to receive their award and we encourage you and your horse to attend, but it is not required. Do I have to be a member of The Pyramid Society to enter my horse in this program? NO. At this time you do not have to be a member and there is no fee to enter the program. Pyramid Society members developed this program, and as members have coordinated opportunities to further the Egyptian breed all while having fun! Please consider membership if you are not already part of The Society your support and participation are welcomed. How do I know if my horse qualifies for this program? See Eligibility on page 4 of this packet. The Pyramid Society also offers official certification for Straight Egyptian horses. If you wish to obtain a Pyramid Society certificate for your Straight Egyptian Arabian horse, please contact The Society. If I have a question about the program, whom should I call or ?
