6 Championships & Awards Championship Awards Separate Championships are awarded for overall Competitor and overall Restricted classes. There is no restriction on a horse/rider combination being awarded more than one Championship. At Competitor level, Pony classes are combined with the Open class to form an overall placing for the allocation of points, and in the Restricted classes the age categories are combined in an overall class to form an overall placing for the allocation of points. There will be no separate championships for ponies (unless more than 5 ponies are entered). In the case where there is only one competitor at a level, the Championship will only be awarded where the required tests are completed with an average percentage of 58%. For each dressage test, points are awarded, based on the EA points system of 30 for 1st, 29 for 2nd, 28 for 3rd and so on, on placings gained within the overall class. The Championship at each level is determined by the total points achieved in the two individual dressage tests at that level and in the freestyle test at that level, with the higher total points awarded being the Champion. In the event of a tie, the Championship will be determined on the freestyle test where the higher percentage shall be the Champion. In case of equality of percentage in the freestyle test, the higher artistic marks will decide the better placing. Should the artistic mark be the same the mark for harmony shall decide. If still tied the mark for choreography shall decide. If still tied, the higher percentage in the higher individual dressage test at that level shall be the Champion. If still tied, the higher collective marks in the higher individual test will decide, if the collective marks are equal, the collective marks of the Judge at C will be decisive.
7 Hi-Points Except for the Hi-Point Pony & the Hi-Point Young Rider, nomination for a Hi-Point Award is through the entry form, with a horse/rider combination only eligible to nominate for one such award. Where more than one award is nominated for, no nominations shall be accepted. With the exception of the Hi-Point Pony & the Hi-Point Young Rider, a horse/rider combination may be awarded only one Hi-Point award. For each non-music dressage test, points are awarded, based on the EA points system of 30 for 1st, 29 for 2nd, 28 for 3rd and so on, on placings gained within the overall class, for classes at the Preliminary and higher levels, except for the Young Horse & Newcomers Hi-Point awards, where placings in the overall Preparatory tests are also included. Freestyle scores are not included. Proof of age/ownership/breeding/residency may be requested by the organizers. Competitor, Participant & SDDC combinations are eligible to apply for Hi-Point awards unless specified otherwise. Hi-Points are awarded to the two individual dressage highest scores regardless of the level, ie. a 1st place in overall Preliminary, and a 1st in overall Novice would result in 60 Hi-Points. In the event of a tie, the winner would be the horse/rider competing at the higher dressage level included in the points score. If still tied, the Hi-Point award will be determined by the average percentage achieved over the two dressage tests included in the points score. If still tied, the higher percentage in the higher individual dressage test shall be the Hi-Point winner. If still tied, the higher collective marks in the higher individual test will decide, if the collective marks are equal, the collective marks of the Judge at C will be decisive. Hi-Point Awards The following Hi-Points awards are presented: Hi-Point Young Rider This award is presented to the highest point score by a Young Rider in Competitor classes. Hi-Point Pony This award is presented to the highest point score by a Pony in Competitor classes. The following hi-point awards must be nominated on the entry form, with only one nomination per rider: Hi-Point Local Rider This award is presented to the highest point score achieved by a rider residing in the Great Southern Region in either Competitor or Restricted classes. Hi-Point Young Horse/Pony This award is presented to the highest point score by a young horse (6 years and under) in either
8 Competitor or Restricted classes, including Preparatory (proof of age may be requested). Hi-Point 'Off the Track' Award This award is dependent on annual sponsorship and is presented to the highest point score by an 'off the track' horse in either Competitor or Restricted classes. To be considered eligible for this award, when nominating, it is also necessary to provide the horse s racing name and brands on the entry form. Hi-Point Locally-Bred Horse/Pony This award is presented to the highest point score by a rider on a horse bred in the Great Southern Region, in either Competitor or Restricted classes.
