6 General Rules EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT UNITED STATES EQUESTRIAN FEDERATION RULE BOOK WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH. 1. ADDITIONAL SHOW PERSONNEL: Veterinarian and Farrier will be on call; names and contact information will be posted at the Show Office. First Aid available from EMT/Medical Personnel on grounds during competition hours. 2. ENTRIES: Observe opening and closing dates published on title page. Entries received before opening date will be penalized. Telephone entries will not be accepted. Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until available ride times are filled. Subsequent entries will be wait listed. All entries received by closing date will be confirmed via . Please contact the Show Secretary if you have not received a confirmation by one week after closing date. No entry will be accepted without payment of fees, either by check or credit card. All information and signatures must be clearly legible. All competitors, by completing their entry, acknowledge and attest that they have read and understood all terms of these rules, wherever listed in this prize list. Management may deny entry to any competitor if the competitor has outstanding debt to the sponsoring organization. 3. ONLINE ENTRIES: EqEntries.com now available for online show entries. Payments can be made via a credit card. Individual user accounts can be set up with no charge. Using a credit card to pay for show entry fees online incurs modest handling fees; printing and mailing entry with a check has no such fee. The signature page must be printed, signed, scanned, uploaded and submitted with the online entry. For more details see the EqEntries FAQ document on 4. WAITLIST ENTRIES: A waiting list will be established once all ride times have been filled. Those who choose to remain on the waiting list but do not get into the show will have their entry check destroyed (not cashed) and no fees will be assessed. 5. INCOMPLETE OR INACCURATE ENTRIES: Proof of registrations and memberships must be provided with each entry. All signatures must be present. Competitors will be assessed a fee of $20 for missing signatures or information. Bridle numbers will not be awarded at show until all fees are paid. 6. POST ENTRIES: Management reserves the right to accept post entries if space allows or in case of cancellation. Post entry fee: $20.00 per entry (horse/rider combination). Online entries will close at midnight on entry closing date. All post entries must be mailed with a check. 7. REFUNDS: A) 100% (except for the $20 Office Fee) before the show s closing date. B) After the closing date and upon presentation of a Veterinarian or Doctor s certificate, there will be a refund of 50% of the class fees, 100% of the USEF drug fee, and 100% of any USDF qualifying fees. The Veterinarian or Doctor s certificate must be received before noon of the Monday before the competition to be considered for the refunds listed in item B. There will be no refund of the Office fee. No refunds of any type will be made if notice of cancellation is received later than the deadline of the Monday before the competition. No refunds will be made if the entry is a no-show. Equestrians Institute reserves the right to cancel, without refunds to the riders, all or part of the competition including individual classes, due to a storm, acts of God, accident or other emergency. 8. DRUGS AND MEDICATIONS: A $16 Federation fee, of which $8 is the USEF Equine Drugs and Medications fee, will be assessed per horse, per show. 9. FEES: Please see Show Fees list on page 2 for all current fees. 6

7 10. RIDE TIMES: Tentative ride times will be posted online no later than 7 days before the competition with notice ed to all riders. It is the responsibility of the rider to inform the show secretary of any time conflicts as soon as possible after the tentative schedule is posted. The official and final ride times will be posted online. Ride times will not be mailed; it is the responsibility of the exhibitor to obtain his/her ride times from competition management or from posted sources 11. COMBINATION/CANCELLATION OF CLASSES: Show Management reserves the right to combine or cancel classes where fewer than three (3) horses are entered, or limit the size of a class as necessary. Show Management also reserves the right to change the order of the classes as they are listed in the Prize List. Competitors in changed classes will be notified per USEF GR 830. Classes cancelled because of weather may be rescheduled or remain cancelled. NO REFUNDS. 12. TEST OF CHOICE (TOC) CLASSES: You may ride a particular horse only once in each Test of Choice class. There will be no changes in your Test of Choice selected after the entry form is processed, except with payment of $10 Entry Change Fee. If no test choice is specified on the entry form, management will assign the highest test of the level. 13. QUALIFYING/NON-QUALIFYING CLASSES: At each level, the highest test of that level may be designated a Qualifying ( Q ) class for the rider upon entry. There is an extra $10 fee. A rider s score from a Qualifying class can then be used to establish eligibility to compete at that level in the 2014 Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Championships. Eligibility requirements for Q classes: Rider must be USDF Participating Member. Owner (if multiple Owners, only one Owner) must be USDF Participating or Business Member. Group membership is not sufficient. Rider and Owner both must be Life or Competing Members of USEF. Horse must have current annual or lifetime recording with USEF; USEF Horse ID is not sufficient. Horse must be USDF lifetime registered; USDF Horse ID is not sufficient. 14. MUSICAL FREESTYLES/ SOUND CHECKS: ONLY CDs are acceptable. The musical selection for the freestyle must be specified clearly on the CD itself. CDs with protective covers must be handed in to the show office when picking up your show packet or not later than 8:00 A.M. of the DAY your Freestyle Class is held. For riders not stabled on the grounds, the rider should make arrangements to deliver the music to the Show Secretary before the show opens. Sound checks will be done at 5:30pm to 6:30pm on FRIDAY of the competition weekend. Sound check times will be posted at the Show Office and announced. It is the responsibility of the riders to pick up their music after the Freestyle class. Management will not be responsible for music left after the closing of the show. In order to enter a freestyle class at any level, a horse/rider combination must have received a minimum score of 60% in the highest test of the declared freestyle level or any test of a higher level at a Federation Recognized open Dressage Competition. A photocopy of the test verifying eligibility must be submitted with the entry for a freestyle class. Specify level of freestyle on your entry. 15. SCHOOLING ENTRIES: Horses not entered in the show, nor boarded at Donida Farm, must be registered with the Show Office and will be given a number to be worn at all times outside of the stall. Any person(s) riding a schooling horse must have signed an official entry blank and/or release form. Schooling-only entries are subject to restrictions on the times and general use of any facility amenities, contact Show Secretary for details. Appropriate stall or haul-in fees, and a $45 schooling fee, must be paid. Horses entered as schooling-only but later converted to class entries must pay all additional fees as required for entry. 16. NO SHOWS (or Scratches): All No Shows that have not checked in with the show office a minimum of 45 minutes prior to their first ride and picked up their exhibitor numbers will be considered a scratch for the rest of the show and their ride time slots may be filled. There are no refunds for scratched entries or classes. Also, scratches by competitors on the show grounds are official ONLY when made to the Show Secretary. Scratches made to warm-up or ring stewards are not official and may be considered NO SHOWS. If the competitor cannot come to the show office to scratch in person, they may send a representative. 7

8 17. ARENAS: All tests will be ridden in a standard sized (20x60m) competition arena with sand or sand/rubber footing. Warm-ups may be done in designated outdoor areas. The DSHB classes take precedence for use of the indoor arena. The indoor arena may also be available for warm ups after the completion of the DSHB competition. No riding/lunging/warm up in grassy areas. Lunging is permitted in designated areas only. 18. STABLING: Permanent stalls and portable stalls, 10 x 10 with full doors, are available for the duration of the dressage competition for $45.00/night. Every effort will be made to honor all stabling requests. Earlier postmarks will receive priority. Bring your own wheelbarrows, water buckets, hoses, and feed. You may not reserve stabling before entry is received. Upon arrival to show grounds, please check posted stabling chart at gatehouse 2/3 down entry driveway, before pulling trailers all the way into the main parking lot. 19. STALL BEDDING: First bedding is provided. Additional bedding can be purchased at show office. Cost for additional bedding is $10 per bag; fill out requests at the Show Office. Bedding orders must be placed by 9 am to be received the same day. There will be a $35 Bedding Removal fee per stall per day for any alternative bedding brought in and used in the stalls that is not purchased directly from Donida Farm. 20. ARRIVALS and DEPARTURES: Early arrivals & late dismissals are possibly only by direct arrangement with Donida Farm. Stalls will be available after 2:00 p.m. the day prior to the first day of competition. 21. DAILY HAUL-INS: A fee of $30.00 per haul-in day is required if stabling is not purchased and must be included with your entry. 22. CONCESSIONS: Breakfast, lunch, and beverages will be available throughout the competition. 23. DOGS: All fees and arrangements are handled through Donida Farm and not EI. Donida Farm requires a separate dog registration process upon entry to the show grounds. See Donida Farm Rules, page CAMPING All fees and arrangements are handled through Donida Farm and not EI. Self-contained camping is permitted in the designated areas on the show grounds. Camping permits may be purchased on the show grounds upon arrival. See Donida Farm Rules, page SHOW OFFICE HOURS: Open one (1) hour prior to the first ride each day, and will close one-half hour after the last class of the day. The day before the competition starts, office open 2PM- 6PM. 26. LOCAL ACCOMMODATIONS: Make reservations early. Available area hotels are Comfort Inn, Auburn ( ), Days Inn ( ), Valu-Inn, Auburn ( ), Best Western Pepper Tree ( ), Nendels ( ),Travelodge ( ). 27. DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Address: SE 376th St, Auburn, WA Proceed North or South on Interstate 5 (1-5), turn east on HWY 18 toward North Bend. Exit to HWY 164 (Auburn-Enumclaw Hwy). Turn left at base of off ramp. Drive south to 380th Place (formerly Cooper s Corner store), turn left. Take a left at the T in the road and then turn right onto 376th. Driveway is 168th Ave. Large sign at entrance. Drive slowly down long driveway to reach show grounds. Midway down driveway, see gatehouse on left. Stop here to consult stall chart, register dogs, and obtain camping passes. 28. AWARDS: Prizes to first place in classes of three or more riders. Ribbons to 6 Th place for Open Divisions. Ribbons to 8 th place for Adult Amateur Divisions and Jr/YR Divisions. High Point Ribbons will be awarded for Open, Adult Amateur, and JR/YR when considering combined scores from the entire show weekend. Designated classes have additional prizes. All awards must be picked up by end of show. Awards will not be mailed. 8

9 29. HELMETS: From the time horses are officially admitted to the competition grounds by competition management, anyone mounted on any competition or schooling entry must wear protective headgear, as defined as a riding helmet which meets or exceeds ASTM/SEI standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. The harness must be secured and the helmet properly fitted. 30. DRESS CODE: Management may announce prior to or during a competition that competitors can show without jackets due to extreme heat and/or humidity. If jackets are waived, competitors must wear a shirt with sleeves and collar, without neckwear, and without decoration. Eliminations are mandatory for all dress code violations as specified in USEF rules. 31. SHARPS CONTAINERS : Approved sharps containers can be found on the show grounds. Competition management may fine any individuals including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments. 32. PONY MEASUREMENT: Any request for an official pony measurement must be made in writing to the Show Manager at least five days prior to the start of the competition weekend. Pony measurements, with veterinarian and TD present, will be done on the day prior to the start of competition weekend, at 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Pony measurements will take place behind Barn A on the asphalt. Each pony measurement is a $25 fee payable directly to the Show Office. An alternate date or time for a pony measurement may be scheduled via written request to the Show Manager at least five days prior to the start of competition. RELEASE OF RESPONSIBILITY: USEF, USDF, Donida Farm, Don and Ida Morin, Gwen Blake, Equestrians Institute, Show Officials, Show Management, and/or employees and volunteers will not be responsible for any accident and/or loss that may occur to any person, exhibitor or his agent horse and/or equipment. Washington State Equine Limitation of Liability Act RCW4.24 applies to all Equestrians Institute shows, at any facility used. Horses, by their inherent nature present a risk of injury, harm or death. Riders represent that they are qualified to participate at the level entered. Each exhibitor is responsible for any injury or harm, that may be occasioned to any person, whomsoever, by any horse owned or exhibited by said exhibitor, and shall hold harmless and indemnify any agencies or persons listed above, against all claims or demands, of any nature or kind, that may grow out of any injury occasioned by any horses owned or exhibited by them, or arise from the negligence of the person in charge of such horse. All owners and competitors are personally responsible for damages to third parties caused by themselves, their employees, their agents of their horses All horses exhibited at these shows participate entirely at the owner s or rider s risk. 34. SPECIAL RELEASE: By signing the entry agreement, I further agree to: release, indemnify and hold harmless USDF, its instructors, officers, directors, agents, and volunteers from and against any and all loss, liability or damage arising from or because of, or in connection with, participation in this competition or related activities. I also hereby agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless the show management, show committee and members, officers, directors, agents, and volunteers from and against any and all loss, liability or damage arising from or because of, or in connection with, participation in this competition or related activities. 9

10 Donida Farm Equestrian Center ~ Facility Rules By entering this show you also agree to abide by all Donida Farm Equestrian Center Facility Rules. 1. Main barn/arena area for load and unload only. 2. Park horse trailers in designated trailer parking area only. Spectator parking in designated are only. 3. Keep fire lanes open at all times. 4. Camp ground use includes fire pit and showers. Please extinguish all fires before retiring. 5. All haul-in horses must be attended at all times or kept inside the trailer. 6. No horses allowed onto facility without being stalled or haul-in fee paid. 7. Campers, live-in trailers, and tents must each visibly display a Camping Pass at all times on the show grounds. Charges are $20 per day per unit. Donida will provide passes and collect fees upon arrival at the show grounds. Dry lot camping available in designated areas. Electrical service is available for additional $10 fee. Showers are available, bring soap and towels. 8. Donida Farm strongly prefers that you leave your dog AT HOME! Remember this is a private facility. 9. Dogs allowed only upon a special doggie registration directly with Donida Farm. Forms can be found on the show grounds during check-in; please inquire. Fee is $30 per dog per show. Identifier scarf available with registration. Dogs must be tied or kenneled at campsite, trailer, vehicle, or stalls. No off-leash anywhere on grounds. All dogs must be kept away from all competition and warm-up arenas. All pet waste must be picked up by leash handler. Aggressive or noisy dogs not allowed. Any violations to the dog policy stated here may result in an immediate $50 fine and potential removal of responsible parties from the show grounds, with NO show entry refunds. Equestrians Institute is not responsible for collecting or paying any dog-related fees or fines. 10. No horses allowed in campgrounds. 11. Please lunge in designated areas only. 12. Use manure wagons to dispose of stall manure only. Pick up garbage and place in trash cans. 13. In-barn wash-racks for boarder residents only. Public rack outside C barn, D barn and E barn. 14. Horses may move in after 2:00 pm on the day prior to event. Earlier arrivals must be pre-authorized. 15. No stall construction changes allowed. Any damage to stalls will incur a damage fee. 16. No nails in stall allowed, including in tack stalls. Damage fee is $ If not promptly paid by Exhibitor, and/or if EI is charged additional stall damage fees by Donida Farm, unpaid fines will be reported to USEF as unpaid and subject to USEF fines & sanctions. 17. No riding on racetrack unless permission is granted from Donida Farm. 18. Bagged shavings available for purchase. Order at show office. Morning, Lunch and PM drop offs. 19. Donida farm boarders have the right to use the warm-up areas. Boarders must have bridle numbers, and must have signed the appropriate show entry forms. All riders are subject to USEF rules while riding in all public areas and horses may be subject to drug testing per USEF rules. 20. Any farm damage done by competitors, spectators, etc. at the show will be charged directly to person(s) responsible for damage. 21. Donida facility map is subject to changes. 10

12 Chablis Friday Show #6175 Special Rules DSHB (Dressage Sport Horse Breeding) Classes 1. Primary Handler must register and sign as Rider on Entry Blank and be a member of USEF, or purchase a USEF Show Pass. 2. Assistant Handlers must sign the USEF Assistant Handler form in the show office. Assistant Handlers need not be USEF members nor purchase a USEF Show Pass. 3. All Primary and Assistant Handlers must wear a wrist band designating his or her role. 4. Entries in Produce of Dam & Get of Sire classes must be made by the owner of the dam or sire, or with written permission from the owner, in the Name of that dam or sire. 5. All offspring entered in Produce of Dam & Get of Sire classes must be named on the entry form. 6. Multiple ownership is permitted in group in-hand classes; all owners must be listed. 7. Bridles mandatory for two year olds and older. 8. The classes may not be scheduled in the order they are listed. All competitors in a class must be present at the In-gate when the class begins. Within a class order of go may vary. 9. Winner of Great American Insurance Group/USDFBC Foal Championship class is not called back for any other Championship class. 10. Great American Insurance Group/USDFBC Championship classes for foal, filly, colt/gelding, mare, and stallion are call-back classes without additional class entry fees. 11. Judging shall be on a Double Triangle according to standards published in USEF Rule Book, DR Champion and Reserve Champion from Foal, Filly, Colt/Gelding, Mare, and Stallion Championship classes qualify for the Great American Insurance Group/USDFBC Northwest Series Finals. 12
