3 My son Logan and I bought our first Limousin bull in 2002 to use on our commercial cow herd. We liked the Limousin influenced calves and decided to try and buy some females to start a registered cow herd. In December of 2003, we traveled to Tennessee and bought a couple trailer loads of registered purebred Limousin females to get a herd started. From that point, we migrated our cow herd into all registered females. In 2005, we A.I. d our first group of females. After seeing the calves, we were thoroughly convinced in the A.I. process. Today we have grown our herd to 100 cows, almost all of which are out of top A.I. sires. Along the way, we began incorporating Angus genetics to create LimFlex cattle. In 2010, we began our embryo transplant program and it has since grown. We are now convinced of the merits of using our top donors in our embryo program and nearly half of our calves are from embryos. Our philosophy is to continually try to improve Buck Ridge genetics and to provide cattle that will work in almost any environment and represent the great Limousin breed well.
