Any passes issued will state which entrance to use. To control and manage the vehicles in the horse box park, ONLY horseboxes and trailers will be permitted, any vehicles travelling separately from their horsebox must either apply in advance for a car pass or park in the general public car park which is in a separate location (off B4553). Where car passes are issued, it is recommended that all your equipment be with your horses transport as cars will be parked in a separate section of the horsebox park and not directly with your horsebox. This will be strictly adhered to. Cars with no pass will be redirected. Entries are strictly limited in show jumping classes (see rule 6). You are strongly advised to enter early. Rules 1. The Judges and Secretaries decisions will be final However any objection concerning judging must be taken up with the judge prior to the prize giving. 2. HARD HATS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES AND SECURED WITH A CHINSTRAP. BOWLER HATS ARE NOT ALLOWED in ridden classes. These rules will be strictly enforced in ALL classes. Any competitor who fails to comply will be excluded from ALL classes with no refund of entry money. 3. Ages to be taken from 1st January Challenge cups must be signed for and returned to the Secretary on or before 1st August Holders will be held responsible for any loss or damage to the trophies. 5. Entry fees will be refunded only at the sole discretion of the Show Secretary. A veterinary certificate will be required should a horse be unfit to compete. 6. ENTRIES. Late entries on all classes will be taken at per class (except in dressage and classes 1, 7, 13, 21, and 55 as these all start at 9.00am prompt) subject to space being available. Classes will be strictly limited to 40 per class. You are strongly advised to enter early as space cannot be guaranteed. 7. ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BY TELEPHONE. 8. OVERLAPPING OF CLASSES. The committee give notice that overlapping of classes in different rings may occur and that if competitors enter classes being held at the same time, they do so at their own risk. The Secretary and stewards will assist competitors in this situation wherever possible, and if you are permitted to leave a class you must return before the prize giving otherwise you will forfeit your placing. 9. In the interest of safety please WALK horses in the main field when not competing. Space will be provided for warming up. Those who break this rule may be asked to leave the show ground. 10. The committee accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any accident caused to or by spectators, competitors, their horses or property on or off the show ground. 11. Any objection or protest must be handed in at the Secretary s tent in writing within half an hour of the event, together with a deposit of 50. The deposit will be forfeited if the judges decide that the objection cannot be sustained. Also see rule An accurate measuring stick will be available and will be used in any instance of doubt. 13. PLEASE NOTE: Free entry to the ground will be limited to one competitor and one driver or groom per horse. 14. Showing classes will be judged under Ponies Association (UK), NPS and CHAPS rules where applicable. 15. Show jumping faults will be as per the BSJA. 16. A Veteran is aged at 18 years and over. 17. No ringside parking will be available. 18. Rosettes will be awarded to sixth place in show jumping, showing, and gymkhana and dressage to tenth place. 19. Prizes are valued at 1st 10.00, 2nd , 3rd in each class (show jumping and dressage, - showing classes 9 first prize). These may be cash, vouchers or in kind. 20. Spurs are not to be used by any junior within showing or working hunter class, or in any mountain and moorland class. Spurs are permitted in dressage and show jumping, and showing where it is deemed to be the correct dress code. 21. Mountain and moorland ponies are to be show un plaited in their natural state. 22. Cricklade Show reserves the right to ask any horse or pony to leave, if it is felt that the animal is un well or lame, without refund of entries.

4 This show is a qualifier for the P(UK) Winter Championship Qualification is open to P(UK) members and non members. The highest two placed exhibit not already qualified within the first six places will qualify. QUALIFICATION CARDS WILL BE PRESENTED IN THE RING For further details of how to join the association. Tel: , Method of judging Competition horse in hand 1. The Judge to stand at A. Exhibit will be awarded marks for conformation out of a maximum of 20 marks. 2. The exhibit to walk the triangle: A-B, B-C, C-A. Marks to be awarded out of a maximum of 20 marks for the walk. 3. The exhibit to trot the triangle: A-B, B-C, C-A. Marks to be awarded out of a maximum of 20 marks for the trot. 4. Overall impression to be awarded out of a maximum of 20 marks as exhibit leaves the ring. Exhibits are required back at the completion of the class for presentation of the awards Method of Judging ridden competition horse/pony classes Horses and ponies will not be ridden by the Judge and will be judged according to the Ponies (UK) Performance/Competition class rules: Phase 1 Performance & Freestyle show 60 Marks Phase 2 Conformation / Type & Suitability for Dressage 40 Marks Snaffle or Double Bridles only to be used. Spurs may be worn. No change of saddlery will be permitted. The individual freestyle show must include the following movements in an arena no larger than 40m x 60m: Halt, walk on a long rein, ordinary trot serpentine, extended trot on the diagonal, canter serpentine with a change of lead, extended canter on the diagonal. NOT to exceed 2 minutes. The above show will also be required in the style and performance and style and appearance classes. UK Riders & Chasers have awarded Cricklade Show area status in dressage and show jumping. Qualification is only applicable for UK Rider members who have already qualified at a regional competition. Riders 1st 7th places and ALL DOUBLE CLEARS QUALIFY for the regional final in show jumping. Riders with 58% plus dressage or a placing also qualify. For further details tel:

5 South West Pony Association Championships This show is a qualifier for the SWPA Championships to be held in September 2009 at the David Broome Centre, Crick, Gwent. To qualify for one pf the classes 1. Enter one of the qualifying classes 2. Be one of the two highest placed exhibits not already qualified within the first four and receive a qualification card 3. Complete the entry form on the qualification card 4. Both owner and the rider / exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS(UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete, but in order to qualify they must both be Showing members and the horse / pony must be registered with the society BEFORE this show for the qualification to be valid (except Ponies UK / BSPS qualifiers where membership and registration, if not already in place MUST be made within 14 days of qualification, for qualification to be valid). See CHAPS Members Handbook or for rulings. The CHAPS (UK) Championship show will be held on the 29th, 30th, 31st August Members to apply in writing to CHAPS (UK) for appropriate qualifier card. Ponies (UK) Summer Championship will be held in August The following classes are CHAPS (UK) qualifiers For full rulings and information on competition / qualification, please refer to the CHAPS (UK) members hand book or visit All stallions entering these classes must be graded with CHAPS (UK). ID cards must be carried in the ring for inspection. Foals born within the current year are not eligible to compete in qualifying classes NPS Mountain and Moorland Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible. Ponies to be trimmed only within their Breed Society specification. Manes must not be plaited and tails must not be braided. All ponies in Novice Classes must be shown in one of the snaffle bits illustrated in the NPS Official List of Judges and Rules. Qualifying rounds are open to both NPS Members and Non Members but only the highest placed NPS Adult member, on production of their membership card in the ring, will be eligible to qualify for the Final. A valid Membership Card must be in the Rider s/handler s possession on entering the ring. The first prize winners from each class will go forward to the Final to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show, Malvern, in August. A pony may only qualify once. Where the first pony in the class has already qualified, the pony standing next in line which has not qualified will be deemed the qualifier. Qualification may go no lower than third place.

6 NPS Adult/Standard members will be required to upgrade to Adult/Showing to enter the Final. Qualified Ponies must be entered into the NPS Competition Final within 14 days for the pony to be eligible to appear in the Final. NPS Silver Medal Championship Conditions:These Championships are judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded where the Owner of the champion pony is a Member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the Rider s/handler s possession on entering the ring and be produced in the ring. If the Owner of the Champion pony is not a Member, or the Owner s membership card cannot be produced in the ring, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided the Owner is a Member of the NPS and the membership card is produced in the ring. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the Qualification Card goes to the Reserve Champion pony provided the Owner of that pony is a Member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the Qualification Card can only be awarded to the Champion or Reserve Champion. All classes in Ring 1 are capped at 40 competitors. Classes 1, 2 & 6 will be jumped as a two phase competition, once the rider has completed the first course of fences, if a clear round, they will jump off immediately, with their time starting as they jump the first fence within the jump off course. Horses and ponies will jump three fences, an optional fence, a staircase spread fence, and the wall. The class will start at 2ft9 and will continue to be raised until only one rider remains or the prize is shared. Any fence down, a stop or fall, will take the rider out of the class. 100 worth of WoofWear goods to the winner. 1st prize = 100 and a rug, 2nd prize 70, 3rd prize 30. There is no entry fee for this class. This class is pre entry only by a ballot system or invitation. One minute will be given for competitors to jump their choice of fences to achieve their best score. Fences cannot be jumped more than twice and any fence that is knocked down will not be counted. Competitors must ride through the start and finish and will be given a 10 second warning to get to the finish. * Ponies may compete in this class. To be held over three rounds. BSJA members may compete within this class but will be awarded a maximum prize of 10, and due to BSJA rules the rug cannot be awarded as it has a cash value.
