2 DEFINITIONS: NEWCOMER RIDER: Is for the RIDER that has not competed in ASH events prior to 2017 MAIDEN: A maiden horse is a horse that has not won a 1 st place at an Agricultural Show, Branch, State Show, National Show or Royal in a similar event. NOVICE: A Novice horse is a horse that has not won a Championship at an Agricultural Show, Branch Show, or a first place at a Royal or National or State Show in a similar Event. Open to all competition eligible registered Australian Stock Horses owned by a current financial ASHS member. All Riders and Handlers must be current financial members of The ASHS Ltd. All horses must be BRANDED and registered. Failure to have horses branded will result in elimination. All Horses to compete at their age as at 1 st July, 2017 Competitors entering ASHLA Classes must be current financial members of ASHLA Horse Registration Papers, current Membership and ASHLA (if applicable) to be uploaded at time of entry. No Temporary Memberships are available for this competition. PRIZEMONEY will be posted within 21 days of completion of Event. All nominations and registrations will be checked with the ASHS Ltd. ASHS Registration Papers & Memberships to be available for inspection on the day of competition. The Committee reserves the right to alter or change the programme as deemed necessary. ASHS recommended dress and Snaffle Bits only unless stated. Supreme Ridden Change of rider only permitted in extenuating circumstances, subject to Committee approval. Horses may be ridden in a Double Rein Bridle in Best Educated and English Attire Classes only. Horses must be registered ASH including all youth as per ruling ASH Handbook Youth section Encouraging Youth 1.4 In the event of 2 or more horses placing equal, each horse will be awarded the average of those placing's, prize money will be averaged and ribbons will be balloted for. Disputes must be lodged in writing with the Show Secretary and must be accompanied by a $50 Fee. Refundable if the dispute is upheld. The decision of the Committee will be final and binding on all competitors. Stallions are NOT to be handled or ridden by a person under 18 years as per ASHS Ltd rules. Youth Competitors under 18 years must wear a safety approved helmet (as per ASHS Ltd rules) in ALL events and whilst riding within the perimeter of the grounds. The committee recommends the wearing of current safety approved helmets by ALL competitors. Led and Hack entries may be pulled off the circle dependant on number of entries. [you are not guaranteed a workout] The Committee reserves the right to amend the program according to Entries received to keep the Show running in a timely manner. Classes may be allocated to another ring if necessary. Different Arenas may be used. REFUNDS: Should this event be postponed due to bad weather or any other reason acceptable to the committee, nominations already accepted will still apply. Nomination fees will be refunded in full if scratched before nomination closing date. After closing date refunds will be at the discretion of the committee subject to the presentation of a valid Vet Certificate/ Doctors Certificate. Administration fee will apply. 3 VENUE DETAILS The Maryborough Showgrounds and Equestrian Park is conveniently located on the Bruce Highway a couple of kilometres north of Maryborough on the left (heading north). The purpose-designed 105 hectare Reserve is modern and well equipped Few things to note: Upon arrival Temporary Parking is available at either end of the stables blocks for unloading of horses and gear. Floats can be hosed out in front of wash bays. Once unloaded, proceed to camping area. (Powered camping is available on both sides of the Witches Hat). Pease note horses are NOT permitted in the camping area. It is advisable to bring a trolley or wheelbarrow to wheel your gear to your stables. Sawdust is provided (LOCATED OPPOSITE WASH BAYS) but you will need your own barrow / cart and rake. Several Wash bays are provided, but you will need to byo hose and fittings. Horses Horses must not be tied to any fences or trees. Horses must not enter non-equestrian areas. Do not erect electric tape or portable yards. Do not dump manure from trucks/trailers anywhere other than the allocated stable waste points. Do not put manure on trees. A cleaning fee is charged for stables or yards not left clean after the event and any stable waste and manure not deposited at the designated stable waste site. Horses, when not being trained or exhibited, must be kept in allocated stables. (NO horses permitted in camping areas at any time) Dogs Dogs are not permitted in horse areas, including spectator and judging areas, at any time. Dogs are permitted in camping areas and must remain tied up or on a short leash within this area at all times. Camping and Parking Camping and parking of vehicles are allowed in designated areas only. Camping areas are located on either side of the Witches Hat. Horse preparation, working areas and stables and yards are separate from the areas designated for parking and camping. Horses are not permitted in camping and parking areas. Fires The lighting of fires anywhere on the grounds is prohibited. Refundable Bonds A stable or yard bond is charged automatically when stables or yards are booked. If your stable/yard is left clean, you will be refunded the bond to the credit card that was used to book. If your stable/yard is left unclean, you will forfeit the bond and it will not be refunded to you. 3 P a g e HORSE FEED DELIVERED TO YOUR STABLES Dads Mobile Hay and Feed Supplies will be available to deliver feed and hay to your stable at the Showgrounds on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
