2 Mr Colin Cox of the Valmont Stud Victoria. The Valmont Clydesdales are sought after by buyers across the nation and have performed incredibly well over the years at the Royal Melbourne Show. The Clydesdales bred by the Cox family have been exhibited at the show since 1951 and in that time have won hundreds of awards. One of their striking stallions; Valmont Daktari, was the winner of the champion Clydesdale stallion title at the Melbourne Royal show a record seven times!! Mr Colin Cox, who met his wife Tara at the Melbourne Royal show in the early 1960s, has had huge success with their breeding program that included revered Clydesdale names such as Rosbercon Top Gun as well as mares, Valmont Ma Cherie, Valmont Boutique, Valmont Bella, Valmont Parisienne and Valmont Isadora. The Valmont emphasis on horses with good temperament, broad feet, fine manes and good quality joints has consistently produced the highest quality Clydesdales. 3 2018 is a very special year for the CCHS, celebrating 100 years of the CCHS - and this is reflected in our Program!! All CCHS members participating in the show will receive a special commemorative Ribbon Badge. Please note our unique FOAL class Now open to all Heavy Breeds this really is the event to showcase your progeny!!! The CCHSWA are honored this year to present Special Awards (donated by their owners): to pay tribute to three WA Clydesdale legends: Tullymore Jeremy, Ferndales Skylight & Wouriepool Hidden Asset that were tragically lost in recent months and will be severely missed at our show. Please note that all Perpetual Trophies will be presented to the winners but will be retained by the CCHSWA. Replica Trophies to be presented and kept by the winners. Thank you for your understanding the Perpetual Trophies are pieces of our history and need to be preserved.

4 IMPORTANT INFORMATION PLEASE READ!!! The CCHS WA welcome all exhibitors and participants to our Centenary State Champion Show and wish everyone a safe and enjoyable time. The organisers reserve the right to alter or withdraw advertised classes or program should the need arise due to maximum or minimum class numbers or any other arising circumstances. Please contact us if you wish to include a particular breed section or sponsor a class. All horses are to be under control AT ALL TIMES Stallions and colts must be under control at all times and have suitable and substantial head gear with bit and wearing the EA green disk. For insurance purposes the handler must be 18 years or over. All horses in the led classes must be registered with the relevant breed society, please provide a copy of the registration papers with your entry. FOAL CLASSES ARE OPEN TO HORSES ONE YEAR AND UNDER. Handlers must be a member of the CCHS or take out CCHS casual insurance. Junior memberships for the CCHS are only $11 (much less than the casual insurance). NO pending memberships or registrations will be accepted. NO entries on the day. The closing date for entries is FRIDAY 25 Th May RIDDEN EVENTS Approved Helmets to be worn by all riders Harness Information Please bring with you your chains of minimum length 2340mm (2.34 metres) Also check that your Hooks fit over 10mm diameter steel. Hooks only please. All harness horses will be checked by the safety officer prior to entering the ring/arena. Any harness found to be considered unsafe will not be allowed until the harness has been adjusted, repaired or replaced and further approved by the safety officer. All horses put to in a vehicle, towing or pulling an item (eg sled/log) must be bitted and wearing winkers. The harness classes are open to both registered and unregistered heavy horses. There is no requirement to enter a led class prior to the harness events. Show Information Many prizes and trophies available, Rosettes awarded to third place, Sashes to Champion and Reserve Champion winners. Garlands and Embroidered Rugs to Sponsored Supreme Champions. Brasses awarded to all winners of harness classes. Cleaning bond of $20.00 is refundable if you clean your yards, camping area and remove manure from your horse around the grounds (to be inspected by a committee member prior to refund). Manure collection points to be provided. Fees are non-refundable with the exception of the cleaning bond. Basic catering to be organised. We will be taking the judge for a pub meal on the Saturday night all welcome!! Formal written and signed Protests to be submitted within 30 minutes from the conclusion of the event with a $ fee (non-refundable). Ground jury decision will be final and cannot be protested. The JUDGE S DECISION IS FINAL Camping is FREE. BUT PLEASE NOTE the $10.00 GROUND FEE IS APPLICABLE FOR EACH DAY THAT A HORSE IS ON THE GROUNDS. This is a requirement of the Murray Equestrian Centre. The grounds will be open from 4pm on Friday 1 st June 2018 and are to be vacated by 6pm on Sunday 3 rd June Wash bays are provided. If you arrive on the Friday, a $10 fee will apply to each horse you bring overnight. Brand new shower blocks and toilets are available for our use please keep clean and respect the first class facilities at the Murray Equestrian Centre. We have exclusive use of the excellent grounds on Saturday, 2 nd of June. On Sunday 3 rd June we share the grounds with the Pinjarra H&PC and we will be keeping to the Campdraft area only. Please respect the H&PC and keep to the campdraft area on the Sunday.
