2 Director s Welcome On behalf of the AHA members in the Region 7 states of Nevada, Utah and Arizona and the 11 AHA-affiliated clubs within these 3 states, I would like to invite you to the 2015 AHA Region 7 Championships. The WestWorld facility in Scottsdale, Arizona is one of the finest show venues available in the country. The climatecontrolled Equidome and two other covered show arenas combined with first class stabling and an abundance of warm-up areas is just another example of what a great venue we have to offer all our exhibitors to showcase their horses and horsemanship. Our show offers three separately-managed divisions. The Equidome will feature our main ring classes, which include all of the performance and halter divisions. Our Working Western divisions will be held in the arenas just south of the Equidome and will feature Reining, Trail and all Cow Horse classes. On the east side of WestWorld will be our Sport Horse Division with Jumping, Dressage, Sport Horse Under Saddle and Sport Horse in Hand classes. The 2014 Region 7 Championship show was the largest AHA Regional show in the United States and Canada. But your 2015 Region 7 Show Commission has been focused on quality, working hard to improve the exhibitor experience. Each year, your Commission members listen to exhibitor comments, examine the actual class sizes and durations from the previous years to tweak the schedule and look at lessons learned. Some of those suggestions incorporated within this prize list include English Trail classes scheduled at the beginning of Trail sessions to reduce exhibitor s braiding under pressure if readying a horse competing in both Western and English Trail and movement of Dressage and Hunter Jumper classes into the covered Ring 5A to stay cooler during the heat of the day. A detailed review of the main ring class schedule was performed and the schedule adjusted to give exhibitors the best possible experience. Our commercial exhibit area continues to expand, offering visitors an excellent shopping experience. In addition to offering a first class horse show, Scottsdale is an excellent place to visit with shopping, dining, hiking, golf and a myriad of other activities located within minutes of WestWorld. The youth and adult leaders have worked hard to put on this show and have made it possible for it to be one of the best Regional shows in the country. Times will be assigned in Class order and will be posted no later than the morning of the competition. Exhibitors will be expected to be there when their class is called. In the event of a class conflict, the exhibitor will notify the Sport Horse Coordinator or the In-Gate Volunteer in advance. The Sport Horse in Hand Class Card will be held open until the exhibitor can complete their class in the other ring and bring their horse to the Sport Horse Arena to compete. Sport Horse In Hand presentations to the judge(s) will be scheduled wherever practicable so that the horse does not have to go back and forth to the barns. The schedule will be available in the show office and posted at the Sport Horse Office. Two triangles will be used and horses will enter at the end gate nearest their triangle. 7 ! ASHO4U TBA Classes There are 7 reserved slots for TBA Classes. Classes 27, 95, 121, 157, 227, 251, 271. Any class in the AHA class list or that is recognized by AHA with the exception of Dressage, Sport Horse, Hunter Jumper, Cutting, Reined Cow, Working Cow, Trail and Reining is available for TBA placement in ASHO4U only. The time slots are offered on a first request basis and must be accompanied with a $25.00 sponsorship. Show management reserves the right to allocate TBA slots in a manner to facilitate the flow of the horse show. TBA classes will be announced prior to the beginning of the show. No post entry penalty to enter TBA classes but normal class fees do apply. If these classes are not requested, the class number will be canceled and the next class will begin immediately. Times will be assigned in Class order and will be posted no later than the morning of the competition. Exhibitors will be expected to be there when their class is called. In the event of a class conflict, the exhibitor will notify the Sport Horse Coordinator or the In-Gate Volunteer in advance. The Sport Horse in Hand Class Card will be held open until the exhibitor can complete their class in the other ring and bring their horse to the Sport Horse Arena to compete.
