Supervisor: Jenny Daffy Phone: A.H. and B.H Stabling must be completed on the entry form. Stabling is limited. Fodder & Bedding is the responsibility of the exhibitor. Exhibitors allotted stabling must take a Society membership. Stabling will only be allocated to those exhibitors who forward their stabling fees within 7 days of making a booking with the Supervisor. Fees to be forwarded with entry form. HORSE SECTION PARKING: HORSE TRUCKS/TRANSPORTS & FLOATS WILL BE THE ONLY VEHICLES PERMITTED TO PARK IN THE HORSE AREA AT ANY TIME DURING THE SHOW. THESE VEHICLES WILL PARK AS DIRECTED BY THE SOCIETY ATTENDANTS. REGULATIONS TO BE IN CONJUNCTION WITH GENERAL REGULATIONS ON PAGE 3. A. The breeding year dates from 1st August each year. B. When measuring a horse, Galloway or pony, an allowance of 3/8ths of an inch for shoes may be made at the direction of the measurer. C. If the judge entertains a doubt as to the correctness of the height certificate, They have the power to order the exhibit to be remeasured, in such case the steward shall accompany the exhibit to the measurer and supervise the measuring. Measuring certificates from SHCV, EV and Royal Melbourne Show are accepted and must be produced upon request. D. A Hack shall be considered over 15 hands, a Galloway over 14 hands but not exceeding 15 hands, and a Pony not exceeding 14 hands. E. Every exhibitor or competitor shall be bound by and observe the decisions and directions of the Society. F. All foals must be haltered in the ring. G. Motor vehicles, including trucks, stock transports and floats, shall be parked as directed by the Society s parking attendants. H. The Society reserves the right to reject at any time an entry or prohibit any person or animal from competing in any class. I. Owners entering their horses or ponies do so at entirely their own risk and it is a condition of entry that no liability of any kind attaches itself to the Society, it s officials or members in any respect. J. Protests/Complaints: Only accepted in writing and received by the society/show Committee within 24 hours of the event to which the protests relates. A fee of $50 (rec will be issued) must accompany the protest/complaint and if upheld will be refunded. K. Entries will only be received subject to the rules and regulations of the Society. All exhibits must be bonafide property of the exhibitor or held by the exhibitor under lease recognised by the Society at the time of entry. L. Competitors staying overnight at the showgrounds must take out a membership ticket and supply their own generator for power. M. Prize money will be paid in cash at the Horse Secretary s Office on presentation of card. The card will be given by the Steward in the ring. All entry fees and prize money inc GST N. All perpetual trophies are held in the care of the society. O. Horses may be swabbed at the discretion of the Committee. P. All dogs must be on a leash at all times. Q. A current height certificate shall be a card endorsed by the Society s official measurer or a current R.A.S., EV. or Show Horse Council VIC card. R. Competitors in events agree to abide by the Rules and Regulations of EA, VAS Ltd Committees. All horses being presented for measure must be bitted. S. A novice is considered to never have won a 1st place at an agricultural show. T. A local is considered to reside within 40 km radius of Colac. U. UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR: All persons causing annoyance by loud comments on the decisions of the Judges or by other unseemly as insulting behaviour will after being cautioned by a member of the Committee, a Stewart. a Judge or the Secretary be expelled from the show and if an exhibitor may have his/her exhibit disqualified. V. LEADING REIN CLASS: Exhibit to be 12hh & under (Stallions ineligible). Snaffle bridle only. Attendant must affix the leading rein to the noseband, the reins should go directly to the childs hand, string not permitted or any aid fastened to the saddle to keep the pony s head in position. No spurs or whips, handler may carry a cane. Riders should at least be able to rise to the trot. Clothing and equipment to be similar to turnout but judged as smartest on parade. (As per RASV regulations). W. Childs pony, galloway & hack to be ridden in staffle. X. SHOW HUNTER CLASSES: Exhibit s being shown in the Hunter Classes are not eligible to compete in Open Classes, and vice versa. Y. The South West group aggregate prize for 2017/2018 season is the Galloway. Note: All entries must have a current height card to be produced upon request. 6
