2 Conditions of Entry CHAPS(UK): This Show is affiliated to The Coloured Horse & Pony Society (uk).both owner and the rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS(uk) nor must the horse or pony registered with CHAPS(UK)to complete. However in order to qualify both owner and rider/exhibitor need to be a current showing member and present their valid qualification card IN THE RING for signing by the Judge. Members to apply in writing to CHAPS(UK) for appropriate qualifier card. The CHAPS(UK) Championship Show will be held on 29 th August-1 st September The following classes are CHAPS(UK) Qualifiers: For full rulings and information on competition/qualification, please refer to the CHAPS(UK) Member s Handbook; or visit All stallions,4 years and over, entering these classes must be graded with CHAPS(UK). Stallions must wear ID Discs in the Ring without exception. **The Ridden Champion and Reserve Champion will also qualify for The Vanguard Properties Holdings Supreme Ridden Coloured Championship ** EQUIFEST QUALIFIERS: This Show is affiliated to Equifest to be held at East of England Showground, Peterborough on 9 th 13 th August To gain qualifiers please obtain a qualification card from Equifest to have the judge sign it in the ring. The highest 2(two) exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify. NPS Mountain & Moorland Qualifying Rounds: These classes will be judged under the rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members but ONLY ponies owned by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern from 31 st July 2 nd August The highest placed pony, if owned by NPS members, in each class will qualify for the Final. Qualification can pass down to 3rd place if the first and second ponies are already qualified.. In Hand Home Produced Definition: These classes are open to pure bred ponies registered M&M ponies which are either stabled at home or in a DIY yard and which since 1 st Jan in the current year have not been shown by a producer or stabled in a producer s yard other than on a DIY basis or at stud. To be owned/kept, produced, ridden/handled by a person who does not receive remuneration in cash or kind from working with horses/ponies. No professional producers are allowed into the ring to groom/strip the horse/pony. Please enter this class in the spirit it is intended. Competitors who contravene the above will be disqualified. M&M Home Produced Ridden Championship- Riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white armband in classes where this is indicated. These ponies, if owned by NPS members, are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show. NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championship: These classes are judged under the rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the champion pony is a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS. The Owner s valid membership card must be in the rider s/handler s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or the steward. If the owner of the Champion pony is not a member, or the owner s membership card is not immediately produced, the Rosette will be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification card goes to the Reserve pony provided the owner of that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than First Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Championships. NPS/Kilmannan Stud M&M In hand silver medal championship: A silver medal rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life member in the M&M In Hand section. The Sponsor s Rosette is also awarded to the pony receiving the Qualification. Qualifiers (in Scotland) are entitled to compete in either the NPS/Kilmannan Stud M&M In-Hand Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship in Malvern, or at the Championship Show in Scotland. Qualifiers may only compete in ONE Kilmannan final. NPS /The Minns M&M Ridden Silver Medal Rosette Championship: A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life member in the M&M ridden section. Qualifiers (in Scotland) are entitled to compete in either the NPS/The Minns M&M Ridden Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship in Malvern, or at the Championship Show in Scotland. Qualifiers may only compete in ONE Minns final. NPS Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judges under the rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony Section of the BRPSB, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part-breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB. Ponies must be plaited. NPS SCOTLAND QUALIFIERS: 1. Ponies may only qualify once for each NPS Scotland Competition Final. Ponies that take a second qualifier for the same section will not be allowed to enter the Final. 2. All Mountain & Moorland Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective stud book. Part breds and X registered ponies and Eriskays are not eligible. 3. Qualification in the M. & M In Hand Section may go to 3 rd in the Championship. All others may go to no lower than 4 th place 4. A Judge is not obliged to award an NPS Scotland Finals qualification if he/she feels that the pony is not of a sufficient standard.

Closing Date for Entries: Competitors qualifying at shows held before Monday 4 th June 2018 must send their qualifying cards and entries in by Thursday 28 th June Shows after 5 th June 2018 adhere to the closing date of 1 st August 2018 and strictly NO late entries will be accepted. Competitors that qualify at late shows after 1 st August 2018 are required to Secretary and send in qualifying cards within 3 days of show 6. Cavasson nosebands are the only nosebands permitted in flat ridden classes. 7. For Novice classes: 65-67: Ponies must wear a snaffle bit. A pony is not eligible to compete if, before 1 st January in the current year, it has done any of the following: 1. Won an open NPS affiliated mixed M&M ridden class 2. Qualified for Horse of the Year Show, Olympia or RIHS Open ridden classes or RIHS Ridden class 3. Qualified for the M&M Novice or Intermediate Ridden Final at NPS Summer Championship Show (NB Ponies can compete as Novices in this competition for two consecutive years provided they do not submit an entry to the Final in the first year) 4. If a pony qualifies for the Horse of the Year Show, Olympia or RIHS in its second year, it is immediately de-noviced and cannot compete in the Kilmannan Final at Blair or Picton Final. 8. Entry for the Finals can only be made by sending the official card duly signed by the Judge at the time of qualifying with your entry form. 9. The Owner must be or become a member of NPS Scotland before entering the Finals. 10. M&M Novice ridden, Open ridden, Lead rein and First ridden classes are for ponies FOUR years and over, M&M WHP classes are for ponies FIVE years old and over. 11. All ridden ponies must be shown off the lead rein except in the specified Lead Rein Qualifier Class 12. M&M classes- riders of stallion must be 12 years & over when riding small breeds (Shetland, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Welsh A&B For large breeds riders of stallions must be 14 years and over (Highland, Fell, Dales, Connemara, New Forest, Welsh C&D) 13. A child must have attained their 12 th birthday as of 1 st Jan in the current year to either strip or lunge pony at NPS show, except for stallions where age will be the same as in the rule book to ride a stallion. 14. Handlers of stallion or colts must be over 14 years old. 15. Handlers of ponies in InHand classes aged 14 years & under must wear a correctly secured skull caps/riding hat that meets the current standards, 16. Max. Height for HP is 153cms at maturity and max height for RP is 148cms at maturity foal classes excluded 17. The Final will take place at the Blair Castle International Horse Trials on Friday 24 th August Blair Castle Working Hunter Pony Championship: Classes are qualifiers. Ponies placed first to third in each class will qualify for the Championship held at Blair Castle International Horse Trials on Thursday 23 rd August Qualification may go down to sixth place if higher ponies have previously qualified. To be eligible for the Final either the Rider or the owner MUST be a member of the British Horse Society. FINALS ONLY: This competition is run under Sports Horse Breeding of Great Britain SHP(GB) the governing body of all hunter and sports horses classes). It is the responsibility of organisers and Competitors to be familiar with these rules; they can be found at Please be aware of Rule number 48H which states: All ridden hunters must be shod all round. No pads or surgical shoes are allowed. TGCA In Hand and Ridden Classes: 9-14 These classes are qualifiers for the Best of Breed Finals at the traditional Gypsy Cob Association s (TGCA) National Breed small and large sections qualify. Stallions: All stallions (4 yrs & over pure or part bred) in order to enter any TGCA affiliated class, must have their TGCA stallion disc displayed on their bridle. Existing TGCA members must present their qualification card to the Judge in the ring for signature. Non-members will receive a qualification card from the judge and will have 21 days to join the TGCA and to register their horse in order to validate this. Please refer to for further details including membership, horse registration and showing rules (Contained within the member s handbook). Quest Show: 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd from the TGCA classes may go forward for the Quest for a Star Championship, provided they are current TGCA members and the horse is TGCA registered. Membership cards and qualification cards (specific to that Exhibit) MUST be presented upon entry into the Ring. The Champion and Reserve qualify for the Ultimate Star Championship at TOYS. Part bred classes: The top 3 from the class 11 and 14 will go forward to the Go for Glory Championship. Champion & Reserve go forward to the Crowning Glory at TOYS which lead to the Supreme Show Part Bred Championship. These exhibits must have one parent that is pure bred traditional gypsy cob, a minimum of 50% breeding is accepted. The National Welsh Championship Show Qualifiers: This show takes place at Three Counties Showground, Malvern on Sunday 5 th August The highest placed Sec A, B, C & D in each Open in hand class will qualify for The National Welsh Brightwells in hand Championship and the highest placed Sec A, B, C, &D in each Open Ridden class will qualify for The National Welsh Brynseion Ridden Championship. The highest gelding in each of these classes will also qualify for the The National Welsh Sarum Investments Ltd Gelding Championship. The two highest placed Welsh A or B in the Open Lead Rein and Open First Ridden Classes will qualify for the National Welsh Brynseion Lead Rein/First Ridden Championship respectively. The two highest placed Welsh Part bred will qualify for The National Welsh Ridden WPBR Championship. 4 Veteran Horse Society In Hand and Ridden Classes:1-8 These classes are qualifiers for the Veteran Society Supreme Final. All classes are PRE-QUAL Supreme Final qualifications-there is no 2 nd rounds. Open to members and non members. However, only Members may go forward to the Championship of the Day in all classes-if competitors placed 1 st & 2 nd are not Members qualification will be given to 3 rd &4 th providing they are Members. Qualification will go lower than 4 th place. If the Champion and reserve has qualified then the 2 nd or 3 rd reserve may take qualification. All competitors and grooms MUST adhere to VHS rules in ALL circumstances. Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification. Champion and Reserve in both In Hand and Ridden MUST have their showing card signed by the Judge in the Ring as proof of qualification. Full VHS Regulations can be found at Young Rider Championship Qualification: A Young Rider qualification will be awarded to the young rider of the Judge s choice, entitling them to enter the Young Rider Championship prior to the Supreme Final. This award is given at the judges discretion. Non members will receive and orange card. One qualification per ridden age category. Members have to have their cards signed. P(uk) RIHS Young Riders M&M Classes: To be judges according to the rules and regulations of Ponies Association (uk). Owners and Riders MUST be Annual Members/Riders and MUST be current P(uk) Annual/Senior/Junior Riders Club. Members and Ponies currently registered with P(uk) before time of entry in order to compete in these classes. Definition of Amateur rider: The Amateur Riders M&M Final is open to riders who for showing purposes have not engaged in a training programme for riders/horses/ponies, livery, buying/selling or dealing of horses/ponies as a means of deriving a source of income since 1 st August (Please refer to Rule 25 in the current rule book).

Qualifier awarded to both the highest placed Part Bred Arab & Part Bred M&M in the first three not already qualified. Part Bred Ponies/Horses Any Height. Any age. Any sex. The two highest placed WELSH Part bred provided the animal is registered WPBR or has the min 12.5% and eligible for registration- qualifies for The National Welsh Brightwells WPBR in hand Championship.
