1 VHS 2018 MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FORM VHS membership runs from 1 st January to 31 st December. New membership cannot be paid by standing order. Membership renewals must be received by 31 st January to receive discounted rate. Membership renewals paid by standing order receive a further discount (s/o form must be received by 1 st December) Showing In order to compete at any VHS Regional Final, VHS membership, a showing card & an age badge are required. Showing cards run from 1 st October to 30 th September. Dressage In order to compete at the BD Veteran Horse & Rider Championships, VHS membership & a VHS dressage card are required. Dressage cards run from Championship to Championship each year. Please complete the table below indicating which membership options you require. Please also ensure that all relevant sections of the form are completed in full before returning to VHS head office. 2 Section A Membership Details It is the rider/handler who is required to be a member. Membership is not required for the owner, if different. Where Junior membership has been applied for, there is no requirement for the parent to also become a member. Lead rein competitors it is the rider, not the leader who needs to be a member. A membership pack will be posted to you and will include a VHS pen, Allen & Page Feed advice and voucher, VHS Performance card and a Pet Plan insurance incentive. 4 Section C Horse / Pony Registration Horses and ponies must be registered with the Society before a showing card or dressage card can be issued. Registration is free of charge when a showing card or dressage card is applied for. To register, you must submit your veteran s passport head office for over-stamping. The registration number issued by the VHS membership office is stamped into your veteran s passport and will stay with your veteran for life. Your veteran will be registered with the society in the name shown on the passport. If their show name is different from that on the passport you must seek to change this with the relevant passport issuing office. Each horse s date of birth is taken from 1 st January each year. Please also supply 1 printed photograph of your veteran with the passport (computer print acceptable). Please enclose an A5 padded envelope to protect your veteran s passport in the post. We do not accept responsibility for any passports lost or damaged in the post.
