3 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY - please read carefully This event is to be conducted under the current rules and by-laws of Equestrian Australia as amended. In addition this event will be conducted under the current specific Equestrian Australia Show Horse Rules as amended. The onus is on the competitor to have full knowledge of the above rules. Rules can be downloaded from The organizers of EWA Show horse reserve the right to cancel, alter or combine any events they deem necessary on the day. Horses and Ponies original current EWA height certificate must be available on the day. No photo image will be accepted. Horses and Ponies must be EWA registered and hold a current EWA show horse card which must be available on the day. No photo image will be accepted. Riders must have current EWA membership and membership card must be available on the day. No photo image will be accepted. Horse/pony may only compete as a show horse or show hunter. Riders must wear a current approved safety helmet and riding boots while mounted on any horse or pony at all times. Please refer to the EWA website for the new approved headwear. Rider s age will be as of the 1 st January Additionally, Riders turning 5 years are eligible to compete on the day that they turn 5 years old. See rule 5.5 & of the National Show horse Rules. The Judges decision is final. Judges are not to be approached under ANY circumstances. Protests must be made in writing and be referred to the ground jury, a deposit of $50.00 must be made with the lodgment of the protest and this will not be refundable, if the protest is not upheld. Horses and ponies must be ridden in Championship Classes by the rider who qualified them for the Championship. Lead Rein ponies are up to and including 12h. Handlers must be 18yrs and over and either Competitor or Participant members of EWA. See Rule 5.6 of the National Show Horse Rules. Lead Rein Riders are 5 yrs and under 8 yrs on the day of competition. Ponies that have competed as lead rein ponies will be eligible to compete in open height classes. Show Ponies and Show Hunter Ponies not exceeding 12 hands must be ridden by a child rider 14 yrs of age and under. Show Ponies and Show Hunter Ponies over 12 hands can be ridden by a rider of any age unless otherwise specified on the program. Champion, 1 st Runner Up and 2 nd Runner Up to be offered in each height section for Child s, Rider, Open, Owner/Rider and Off the Track Thoroughbred classes. Winners of these places will be invited to attend the 2019 ENSW Southern Cross Show Horse Championships. Winners of each class will be eligible to compete for Champion. 1 st Runner Up will be taken from the 2 nd placegetter from the class that provided the Champion. 2 nd Runner Up will be taken from the remaining horses/ponies in the Championship lineup. 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd placegetters in the Lead Rein Show Pony or Lead Rein Show Hunter Pony class will be invited to attend the 2019 ENSW Southern Cross Show Horse Championships. Champion and Reserve Champion in this section will not be eligible unless the combinations were placed 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd in the Lead Rein Show Pony or Lead Rein Show Hunter Pony Class. Lead Rein Smartest on Parade and Lead Rein Rider classes are not qualifying classes for ENSW 2019 Southern Cross Show Horse Championships.

4 Riders in Child s/junior classes MUST be aged between 5 years and under 18 years as of 1 st January BYO Alcohol is not Permitted on the Grounds Dogs must be on a leash at all times. Failure to abide by the rules may lead to disqualification and loss of prizes. Refunds will only be given with a veterinary or medical certificate provided to the EA Show Horse Committee within 7 days of the competition, less $20.00 administration fee. Random swabbing will take place. Competitors may compete in all eligible events providing the relevant entry fee has been paid, if classes coincide, due to the lengthy program, you must choose which class to enter, as the program will NOT be held up and NO REFUNDS will be given. The organizing committee reserves the right to amend the number of classes available depending on number of entries and available time or move classes between rings. Prize money will be forwarded to the Supreme winners after sponsors have received from the competitor notice of thank you/gratitude from the winner within 14 days of the event or prize money will be forfeited. Interschool Leaderboard Qualifier will be taken from placegetters in rider classes under 12 years, 12, 13 & 14 years and 15, 16 & 17 years. OFF THE TRACK 2019 ENSW SOUTHERN CROSS SHOW HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER CONDITIONS OF ENTRY Open to all Thoroughbreds unraced or raced 4 years and over, over 14.2hh and who are registered with RA (Racing Australia) or the ASB (Australian Stud Book). Registrations will be checked and all horses must be registered with Equestrian Western Australia. Racing name and breeding to be included on entry form. Riders must be either Competitor or Participant EA members at time of entry and competition. Owners must be Competitor, Participant or Supporter EA members at time of entry and competition. Class: open to exhibits registered and named on the Australian Stud Book (ASB) that have started in a race or official barrier trial on any registered racetrack in Australia or abroad on or after 1st January OFF THE TRACK STANDARDBRED CLASS IS NOT A QUALIFIER FOR THE 2019 ENSW SOUTHERN CROSS SHOW HORSE CHAMPIONSHIPS. 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd placings only will be awarded. Class 26 - STANDARDBREDS - All unraced, untrialled & unnamed horses which are registered with Harness Racing Australia are eligible to enter the OTT Standardbred classes. Race names must be supplied on entry, if race name is unknown brands are to be supplied Class 27 - THOROUGHBREDS All unraced, untrialled & unnamed horses which are registered with Australian Stud Book are eligible to enter the OTT Thoroughbred classes. Race names must be supplied on entry, if race name is unknown brands are to be supplied. FALL OF HORSE AND/OR RIDER If in the lineup, during a workout, or on the circle there is a fall of horse and/or rider it will entail elimination from that class. If a horse leaves the workout area, other than at the direction of a judge or official, it will entail elimination from that class. The Judge has the power to eliminate a horse or rider if it is deemed by the judge to be erratic and unruly. In the event of a fall by horse or competitor, it will be the decision of the Judge or Ground Jury, or if there is no Ground Jury, a representative of the organising committee, (informed if necessary by a doctor or medical officer in the case of a rider or a vet or horse welfare officer in the case of a horse), as to whether the rider or horse can continue to compete. Riders must be mounted on entering and leaving the arena or penalty of elimination.

11 The Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) Off the Track program aims to increase the demand for retired Thoroughbred and Standardbred racehorses as pleasure and performance horses through sponsoring events and clinics, sharing success stories and promoting the attributes of both breeds. Our mission is to support the placement of retired Thoroughbred and Standardbred racehorses in second careers by promoting the many retrainers across Western Australia and educating the community about the various life after racing options, versatility of use and the appropriate care and retraining of racehorses.
