12 GENERAL INFORMATION and RULES OF THE SHOW ENTRIES: Entries must be submitted on the official entry form for this show (photocopies both sides required are accepted). Additional forms can be requested from the show secretary. Regional qualifications are required for entry into Regional Championship classes. ONLY ONE HORSE PER ENTRY FORM. No horse may be entered on more than one entry form. The complete name and address of the registered owner must appear in the Owner space. Entries may be made in the name of a stable or farm only if (a)the stable or farm name is the bona fide owner appearing on the horse registration papers or (b)the stable or farm has been registered with USEF and the number shown on the USEF certificate is noted in the space provided. In Arabian, Half-Arabian and Anglo-Arabian classes if a farm is used as Owner the farm must have an AHA Farm/Ranch membership and that Farm/Ranch membership number must be used as the owner AHA number. A copy of the Farm/Ranch membership card must accompany the entry. Owner (or agent), trainer and all riders/handlers must sign entry form (adult signatures only) in the spaces provided and provide addresses, telephone numbers and Tax ID/SS numbers where requested. If the owner is the trainer owner must sign on both owner and trainer spaces. Trainer is any adult who has the responsibility for the care, training, custody or performance of the horse. Junior exhibitor s name, address and birth date must appear on the entry form along with the parent(s)/guardian)s) signature in the appropriate area on the back of the entry form for each junior exhibiting in the show. All ASHO4U entries postmarked after March 20, 2018 or made at the show will be considered post entries and will be charged the Post Entry class fee (see fee schedule). All Region 7 entries postmarked after March 20, 2018 or made at the show which use a qualification before March 20, 2018 will be considered post entries and will be charged the Post Entry class fee (see fee schedule). Entries qualifying for the first time after March 20, 2018 for Region 7 Championship classes may enter with no post entry fee. Cancellation of entries after this date, for any reason, shall forfeit all fees. Consideration for refunds for cancellation of entries after the closing date will be at the discretion of the Region 7 Show Commission. Substitution of horses will be permitted in accordance with USEF GR911.

13 ADMISSION TO THE RING No person shall be permitted to enter the ring except participant in the class, judges, their assistants and show officials. Attendants and grooms may enter the ring only when summoned by order of the judge. In all classes requiring attendants in the ring, proper attire is required. AGE OF HORSE For horse show purposes any horse shall be considered to be one year of age on the first day of January following the actual date of foaling. A Junior Horse is five years old or younger. AHA ACHIEVEMENT AWARD POINTS The show is recognized by the Arabian Horse Association, enabling exhibitors to receive Achievement Award Points in all qualifying classes, providing the USEF has approved the Arabian or Half Arabian/Anglo Arabian division as a Recognized Competition. This show is a Recognized Competition. ASHO4U CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING CLASSES To enter a Championship Class you must have entered, shown and been judged in the Qualifying Class. Qualifying classes are listed in the Class Details, pages AHA & USEF MEMBERSHIP CARDS Owners, trainers, handlers and riders must provide a copy of their current AHA and USEF membership cards with their entry forms. AHA does not permit Single Event Memberships at AHA Regional Championship Shows. AHA COMPETITION membership is required. Any active Equine Canada member who is not a current USEF member and wants to compete in an amateur class must fill out the USEF membership application with their name, signature, date of birth and check the Amateur box in order to be eligible to compete. AMATEUR CERTIFICATION Every person who has reached his/her 19th birthday and competes in classes for amateurs under USEF rules must possess current amateur certification issued by USEF. This certification, which must be renewed annually, will expire on November 30 and must be available for inspection or the competitor must have lodged an application for certification with the Show Secretary at least one hour prior to such classes. In the event a person holds an unrevoked certification but does not have it in their immediate possession, the Show Secretary may accept a signed statement to that effect, which must be submitted to USEF. Only USEF members in good standing are eligible for amateur certification. AMATEUR OWNER/JUNIOR OWNER TO RIDE CLASSES An Owner s class is one in which every contestant is a Junior/ Amateur and the rider/handler is the Owner or an Amateur/Junior member or the Owner s family (see USEF GR141). Combined ownership is not permitted in Junior/ Owner classes unless all owners are members of the same family. LEASED horses are NOT eligible in Junior/Owner to ride, drive, handle classes. ARENAS The Equidome is covered 130 x290 with mixed clay and sand footing. The Wendell Arena is open air 180 x360 with mixed clay and sand footing. The Warm-UP arenas 150 x300 with mixed clay and sand footing are open air and uncovered. Arenas 3 and 5A are covered, mixed clay and sand footing. Arenas 5,6,7 and 8 are open air150 x300 with mixed clay and sand footing. BIKES AND MOTORIZED VEHICLES There are to be no bikes or small motorized vehicles in the paddock areas in front of the show arenas. If bikes or motorized vehicles are used improperly at WestWorld they will be confiscated until the end of the show for the protection of exhibitors and their horses. Minors must wear safety helmets when riding bicycles per AZ state law. Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with USEF Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. BARN DAMAGE Exhibitors will be financially responsible for any damage to their stalls on the premises. Do not put nails into sidewalls. Stalls must be vacated in their original condition. Stalls may not be structurally altered in any way. ALL DAMAGES WILL BE BILLED BACK TO THE EXHIBITOR. Labor for removing lumber for decorating purposes will be charged at a rate of $35.00 per hour by WestWorld. By order of the Fire Marshal, decorations to the front of the stalls cannot extend more than six (6) feet from the front of the barn and all aisles between stalls and barn must remain open. CLASS CALLS Due to any unforeseeable problems with any mechanical device, the PA system, paddock and barn calls must be considered a courtesy. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to be sure that his/her horse is at the gate at the prescribed time. Every effort will be made to maintain a working PA system to carry class calls; however no protest will be upheld. Nor will any class be changed on the basis of PA malfunction alone. DISCIPLINE Exhibitors are warned that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the officials of this show on the part of the owner, exhibitor, agent, trainer, groom, rider, handler or family of the above will disqualify the horse from adjudication. The management reserves the right to remove a horse, owner, exhibitor, agent, trainer, groom, rider or handler from the show without being liable for compensation or damages. Any actions against a horse by an exhibitor, which are deemed excessive by a judge, USEF Steward or show veterinarian in the show ring or anywhere on the competition grounds may be punished by official warning, elimination or other sanctions which may be deemed appropriate by the Show Commission. Such action(s) could include, but are not limited to excessive use of whips, spurs or bamboo poles. DISQUALIFICATION Refer to USEF Rule Book. Any horse doctored in any way, ie; artificially, improperly or unfairly prepared or tampered with before entering the show arena will be disqualified. REGION 7 CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW JUDGING SYSTEM The MOS system will be used for all Region 7 Equidome classes. Regional halter classes will be comparatively judged and placings determined by MOS. All Regional Working Western classes with the exception of cattle classes will have a two judge total point system. REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS For all Arabian, Half-Arabian classes, a horse must be issued a Certificate of Registration from the Arabian Horse Association (includes racing), the Canadian Arabian Horse Registry or the Canadian Partbred Arabian Registry. A legible copy of the entire registration papers showing proof of ownership for each horse entered in the show must be submitted with the entry form. In the case of a contract sale or lease, it is required that a copy of the sale contract or lease (containing registered name and number of the horse, date and signature of the seller or lessor) be submitted with a copy of the registration papers. RULES This horse show is conducted in accordance with the rules of the United States Equestrian Rulebook, specifically but not limited to Chapter AR-Arabian Horse Division. Every class herein is covered by the rues and specifications of the current USEF rulebook and will be conducted in accordance therewith. This prize List is based on the current rules of the USEF Rulebook. Any changes or corrections of rules will automatically become part of this prize list. Stall fees must be paid with entries. UNDER NO CIRCUM- STANCES WILL STALLS BE HELD WITHOUT PAYMENT BY CASH, CHECK OR CREDIT CARD. Tack/groom stalls may be limited to 1 for each 3 horses in a stable with group. Stalls will be available at 9am on Saturday, April 21, 2018 and must be vacated by 6am on Monday, April 30, Each animal must be assigned a separate stall (except brood mares with suckling foals). If no stalls requested a grounds fee of $30 per horse per day will be charged. Early arrivals are available refer to Early Arrival instructions. All stall assignments will be made at the discretion of the Show Commission. Patrons will receive Preferred Stabling, with priority being given to long-standing patrons and supporters of the Region 7 show. Once assignment have been made please do not deviate without the SPECIFIC approval of the Barn Manager. EXHIBITORS WISHING TO BE STABLED TOGETHER MUST SUBMIT THEIR ENTRIES IN THE SAME ENVELOPE, USE A COMMON NAME AND INDICATE THIS ON THE ENTRY FORM. The electrical system may not be altered or tampered with under any circumstances. The use of electric, open flame or space heaters is prohibited. Refrigerators and microwaves are not allowed in the barns. Cooking or any heat/ flame food preparation is not allowed in the stall area. If you overload the electric circuit and blow out circuit breakers, you will be billed for the labor to repair or reset the breakers. If WestWorld charges any fees for cleanup in your stall area, these fees will be passed on to the exhibitor. EARLY ARRIVALS Stalls are available at 9am on Saturday, April 21,2018. Early arrival would be any for any date prior to that and at a cost of $25 per day/per stall unlocked, with or without a horse. Exhibitors may start setting up on Friday, April 20, 2018 and not be charged an early arrival fee as long as the stall is not unlocked. There will be a ring for riding starting on Friday, April 20, 2018 for any early arrivals. If you are arriving early you must contact the Show Secretary. Be advised: Stall requests for horses entered after March 20, 2018 or post entered late and requesting stabling with other horses may not be honored. Original stabling assignments will not be changed to accommodate the late entry. Management will try to stable late entries as close as possible to other entries buy no guarantees can be made. THERE IS NO SMOKING IN THE BARN AREAS SPORT HORSE IN-HAND CLASSES Exhibitors in Sport Horse In-Hand classes will be assigned times to present their horses to the judge. Times will be assigned in class order and will be posted no later than the morning of the competition. Exhibitors will be expected to be there when their class is called. In the event of a class conflict, the exhibitor must notify the Sport Horse Manager, Assistant Manager or the In- Gate volunteer IN ADVANCE. The Sport Horse In-Hand class card will be held open until the exhibitor can complete their conflicting class and bring their horse to the Sport Horse area to compete. STALLIONS Purebred Arabian stallions may be shown by any junior exhibitor in any class open to stallions. Exception: stallions are prohibited in Walk/Trot, Walk/Jog or leadline classes and are discouraged in Showmanship and Halter classes. Unruly horses in any class will be promptly dismissed. 35 USDF Membership Benefits: USDF is dedicated to education, the recognition of achievement, and promotion of dressage. For details on member benefits, including educational programs, awards, and other opportunities, refer to the USDF Member Guide or the USDF website at This competition is recognized by USDF for 2018 Membership Requirements for USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized Competitions: Owners and riders, including foreign riders and owners who are not residents of the US, wishing to participate in a USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competition as a rider or owner/lessee, must have either a USDF Group Membership (GM), Participating Membership (PM), or have a USDF Non-Member (NM) identification number and pay the USDF Non-Member (NM) fee. (Note: USDF Business Members can own horses but cannot compete as riders with their USDF Business Membership.) Individuals cannot compete at a USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competition with a USDF Education Membership. Horses competing at USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competitions must have either a USDF Horse Identification (HID) number or a USDF Lifetime Horse Registration (LHR). Proper credentials or verification certificates must be presented to the competition secretary. Riders and owners wishing to participate in a USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competition, and not able to present the competition secretary with verification of a USDF membership or NM identification, and USDF LHR or USDF HID, must complete a USDF Competition Affidavit Form and pay the $5 affidavit filing fee. A copy of a completed affidavit form from another competition may also be used for verification purposes for up to 60 days. (Exception: Affidavits cannot be used at Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Dressage Championships.) Exceptions: Horses competing only in Individual Breed Classes (IBCs) at DSHB competitions, sires and dams of horses in DSHB group classes, where those sires or dams are not actually competing in the same competition, horses competing only in breed restricted dressage or DSHB classes at Regular Competitions (e.g. all Arabian, all Friesian, or all Morgan classes), or in USDF Introductory Level tests, pas de deux or quadrille, are exempt from this requirement. Also exempt are horses ridden in leadline, exhibitions, games and races, classes for 4-H members, walk-trot, academy, and opportunity classes. Riders and owners/lessees competing only in classes which are exempt from the USDF HID requirements are also exempt from the USDF NM identification number and NM fee requirements. Also exempt are handlers of horses competing in DSHB In-Hand or Group classes. Memberships Defined Participating Membership (PM): A membership issued to an individual directly by USDF. The membership year is December 1 through November 30. PMs are available for 1-year ($90), 5-years ($360), or life ($1,800). A USDF Youth Participating Membership (YPM) is available for individuals who have not reached their 21 st birthday by December 1 of the current membership year ($72). A PM allows the member to compete at USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competitions and to participate as a rider and/or owner/lessee for all Adequan /USDF Year-End Awards, USDF Breeders Championship Series Finals and the Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Dressage Championship program. Group Membership (GM): A membership issued to an individual by USDF when the member name and dues are submitted to USDF through an affiliate Group Member Organization (GMO). The GM year begins December 1 and ends November 30. A GM allows the member to compete at USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competitions and participate in the USDF Rider Awards program. Business Membership (BM): A membership that runs December 1 through November 30 and is issued to a business or organization directly by USDF. The USDF BM ($240) offers a wider variety of advertising benefits. BMs satisfy requirements of horse ownership only. Education Membership (EM): A membership issued to an individual directly by USDF. This online education only membership expires 12 months after the date joined. This membership type does NOT allow an individual to compete at a USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competition. Non-Member (NM) Identification Number: For each USDF NM owner/lessee and USDF NM rider there will be a USDF NM fee of $35 per competition that must be collected by the show secretary and submitted to USDF, along with the USDF Report of Fees document and the $5 affidavit fee and Competition Affidavit Form if the person cannot provide a copy of their USDF NM card. Owners/lessees or riders exempt from the NM number requirements are also exempt from paying the USDF NM fee. If there are multiple owners of a horse and all are NMs, only one of the owners must pay the NM fee. If the horse has at least one owner who is a current USDF PM, GM, or BM there is no NM fee assessed. Competition management will be invoiced for all applicable USDF NM fees not received with the USDF postcompetition paperwork, along with a report listing all USDF NMs. Competition management is then required to submit the NM fees within 30 days to the USDF. An individual with a USDF NM identification number is not eligible for any USDF membership benefits. Once a USDF NM number has been assigned, a USDF NM card can be obtained from the USDF website. Horse Identification (HID) Number: A one-time tracking number for horses ($35). Scores earned by a horse with an HID number will be recorded, but will NOT be counted towards Adequan /USDF Year-End Awards. A horse with an HID number is not eligible to compete in Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional qualifying or championship classes or USDF Breeders Championship Series Finals. An HID number can be upgraded to a Lifetime Horse Registration (LHR) for a fee of $80. If a horse has a USDF LHR it does not need an HID number. An HID number is a one-time fee that does not need to be renewed. Lifetime Horse Registration (LHR): A horse with an LHR ($115) is eligible for Adequan /USDF Year-End Awards, and eligible to compete at USDF Breeders Championship Series Finals and Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional qualifying and championship classes, assuming requirements for the owner and rider are met. If a horse has an LHR it does not need an HID number. An LHR does not need to be renewed.
