Such headgear must be worn with the chinstrap correctly and securely fastened at all times whilst mounted on the showground.

The horse that qualifies will be eligible for the final competition, which will take place at the Suffolk Spectacular on 17th September 2017 at Marks Hall, Coggeshall, Essex CO6 1TG. Both the sire and the dam must be registered and entered in the pedigree section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book. All stallions must be registered in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number, stallion licence number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. Discretionary entry to a stallion class may be allowed in cases where a licence is pending but not yet issued. Framlingham Horse Show is affiliated to the Suffolk Horse Society (SHS) and classes are qualifiers for championship points for annually awarded trophies and for the Supreme Suffolk Horse Championship. The horse that qualifies will be eligible for the final competition to be held at The Suffolk Spectacular on 17th September 2017 at Marks Hall, Coggeshill, Essex CO6 1TG. Method of judging: the jumping to be 50% for the actual jumping and 10% for style. Ride, presence and confirmation 40%. Fences to be a maximum of 3 3 ft. Riders any age. 1 st 2 nd 3 rd placed horse/ponies will qualify for P(UK) Hazelden Riding Horse Winter Classic 2018, Equifest 2017 & BSPA 2017 Class 37 RETRAINING OF RACEHORSES (RoR) NOVICE THOROUGHBRED RIDDEN SHOW HORSE Unaffiliated. Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4years old or over, any height. Riders must be 15 years or over on 1 st January of the current year. Horses should be ridden in Snaffle, Pelham or Simple Double Bridle. Horses should be plaited. This class will be run under the rules of RoR. Judge will not ride but an individual show is required. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed competitors for classes 32, 33 and 36 will qualify for the 2018 P(UK) Winter Classic, Equifest 2017 & BSPA 2017 No membership is required to enter of compete in any Championship Finals. 9 WORKING HUNTER PONIES P(UK) Zenith Working Hunter Winter Classic & Supreme Championship One Phase only Restricted to 20 in each section. Working Horse/Pony. Stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Riders any age. These classes are designed to encourage the horse/pony and rider to perform stylishly. Method of judging: Horses/ponies will enter the ring individually and jump a course of obstacles designed to produce a maximum of 10 jumping efforts. Course builders are recommended to avoid fences with a related distance. Each jumping effort will be marked out of 10 at the judges discretion. There is no set penalty for a pole down or run out, but three refusals will result in elimination. Fall of horse or rider will result in elimination. There will be no mark awarded for conformation or manners, but a mark will be awarded for overall impression at the completion of each round. In the event of a tie, the overall impression mark will determine the final placing. Should there still be an equality of marks, the jumping marks will be taken into consideration - the comparison beginning with fence one and continuing thereafter until a result is achieved. 1 st 2 nd 3 rd placed horse/ponies will qualify for P(UK) Zenith Working Hunter Winter Classic 2018, Equifest 2017 & BSPA 2017 Class 40 Class 41 Class 42 WORKING HORSE OR PONY Maximum height of fences 61cms (2 ) 1st, 2nd, 3rd placed horse/pony will qualify for the P(UK) Zenith WH Winter Classic 2018, Equifest 2017 & BSPA WORKING HORSE OR PONY THE ELKIE CUP Stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. (Ponies must be shown in snaffle bridles. The attendant must affix the lead rein to the noseband only) Rider and Pony to live within 25 miles of the showground. All entrants will receive rosettes. Open to Registered and Unregistered M & M ponies. Mixed height. Prizes: 1st 9 2nd 7 3rd 5 4th 4 Special 55 MOUNTAIN AND MOORLAND IN HAND CHAMPIONSHIP THE KNODISHALL PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP (Presented by the Late Mrs. W B Franklin) 1 st 2 nd 3 rd placed horse/ponies in classes 50 & 52 will qualify for The P(UK) Glyn Greenwood M and M In Hand Winter Classic 2018, Equifest 2017 & BSPA 2017 Entries must be registered by the respective Societies and the registration number(s) shown on the entry form. THE FLICK PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP Open to Shetland, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Welsh A & B, New Forest, registered with their respective Breed Societies. Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over not exceeding 122cms (12.0hh). Rider not to have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be led by an attendant and be shown in Snaffle Bridles with the lead rein to be attached to the noseband only. 1 st 2 nd 3 rd placed horse/ponies will qualify for P(UK) Lobster Pot M&M Lead Rein Winter Classic 2018, Equifest 2017 & BSPA All entrants will receive rosettes. Prizes:1st 9 2nd 7 3rd 5 4th 4 MOUNTAIN AND MOORLAND FIRST RIDDEN Mare or gelding 4 years old and over not exceeding 128cms (12.2h), registered in the Breed Society Stud Books of Shetland, Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest and Welsh A or B. Riders not to have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year. These classes are affiliated to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association and are qualifiers for the World Championships of Colour National Championship show. All classes will be judged within the rules and criteria of the BSPA. Copies of the rule book and membership / horse registration / over stamping forms can be obtained from the Show Office or downloaded from All stallions 4 years old and over must be graded, licensed and registered with the BSPA in order to compete and must carry into the ring their red BSPA showing ID Card and BSPA bridle discs must be worn. In order to qualify all owners / handlers / riders must be members of the BSPA and all horses / ponies registered with the BSPA prior to the show. BSPA qualification cards must be produced in the ring and be signed by the Judge, otherwise qualification is invalid. The highest placed amateur and highest placed junior in each class (must be members of BSPA) will qualify for the Amateur and Junior Supreme Championship Finals to be held at the BSPA World of Colour Championship Show September Amateur / Junior cards to be shown and qualification card signed. All shows held after 18th August 2017 are qualifiers for WCC Qualification: 1st 3rd in all classes or 1st 4th for classes exceeding 10. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed competitors in classes will qualify for the P(UK) Winter Classic 2018, Equifest 2017 and BSPA No membership is required to enter of compete in any Championship Finals.

14 SHOW JUMPING Competitors may NOT walk the course until permission to do so is given. Entries in Classes are confined to registered horses to be ridden by members in accordance with British Showjumping Rule 79. Junior members competing on horses are only able to do so from the beginning of the calendar year in which the age of 12 is reached. Every Turnout must have a competent adult Groom/Passenger in attendance at all times. 2. All drivers, grooms, passengers under the age of 14 years MUST wear a correctly fitted hard hat when in a carriage or in attendance to a turnout on the Public Highway and in all areas of the showground. 3. No Hackney Show Wagons allowed. 4. All Horses/Ponies must be 4yrs old or over. 5. The Judge may, at his own discretion, transfer competitors to a different class. 6. It is essential that all competitors have adequate Third Party Insurance.

16 Framlingham Livestock Association - BYE LAWS 1 Show Director The Council shall appoint annually a Show Director for the management of the Showground and a Secretary, who shall be official Directors of the Show Ground during the Show. 2 Judges and Stewards The Show Committee shall appoint annually Judges of stock exhibited and Stewards, such Stewards not being exhibitors in the department in which they act. The Association reserves the right to substitute other Judges for those mentioned in the prize schedule without notification to exhibitors and others. 3 Judging and Prize Money The Judges to commence their judging at the appointed time as shown in the order of the Show. The Judges will be instructed not to award any prizes in classes in which animals exhibited do not possess sufficient merit and their decision is final. 4 Suffolk Horses Suffolk Horses must be entered under the registered name of the bona fide owner or the hired exhibitor. All Suffolk Horses must be from Suffolk parents registered in the pedigree section of the UK Suffolk Horse Society Stud Book. This show is affiliated to the Suffolk Horse Society (SHS) and classes 1 14 are qualifiers for championship points for the annually awarded trophies. All entries for In Hand classes must be registered in or eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. All foals must be eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. Both the sire and the dam must be registered and entered into the pedigree section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All stallions must be registered in the Pedigree section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number, stallion licence number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. 5. Late Entries (a) Late entries will be at a rate to be decided annually by the Committee. (b) No late entries will be accepted for Suffolk Horses. (c) Nomination entries will not be accepted. Entry fees must be paid at the time of making the entry. 6 Exhibitors All Exhibitors must be prepared to have their stock in the Showground ready to be judged at the appointed time. Those in charge of stock shall be subject to the orders of the Director and Stewards of the show. The Exhibitor shall be liable to forfeit if any animal sent by him shall, to his knowledge, be labouring under any infectious or contagious disease. No animal will be admitted to the Show ground without a proper halter. No animal to be removed from the Show Ground until 4 o clock without permission of the Director of the Show. 7 Cups and Trophies All cups and trophies for competitions which are presented by or through the Framlingham Livestock Association are offered subject to the winner giving a written undertaking to return the Cup or Trophy, at their own expense, in good condition at least 21 days before the date of the next Show. The Association reserves the right to right to prevent any Cup / Trophy from being awarded. All cups and trophies are Perpetual and will be held by the Winner for ONE year only. Copies of the Rules and Regulations may be obtained from the Secretary. 8 Stock and Animals All foals exhibited shall have been foaled down from mares owned by the Exhibitor. Stock exhibited for the prizes shall have been the bona fide property of the Exhibitor at the time of entry who shall not be entitled to any award unless he has delivered his entrance fees by the time stated in the schedule to be fixed annually by the Show Committee. Nomination entries will not be accepted. The ages of the horses to be calculated by the year. 8(a) All dogs must be on leads. 8(b) No horse or pony shall be harnessed to its vehicle and then tied to a horsebox/lorry or trailer. 9. The Showground Any land used for any part of the Show constitutes 'The Showground'. 10 Imposition An exhibitor showing an animal for an award with its natural colour or distinctive markings on face or legs altered in any way to deceive the Judge, or in any other way attempting to impose on the Association, shall forfeit such an award and be disqualified from exhibiting at any future Show of this Association. 11 Protest In all cases of disputed prizes, the protest, in writing, shall be made to the Secretary within an hour of

17 delivering such Award. The person protesting shall at the same time of making the protest deposit with the Secretary the sum of The same shall be returned to the party protesting if the protest is sustained and in the case of it not being sustained the deposit shall be forfeited to the funds of the Association. The Secretary, if possible, shall give notice of the protest to the person against whom it is made. The Secretary and Show Director shall, if possible, decide the case that day, otherwise it shall be referred to the Committee whose decision shall be binding and conclusive on all parties and no action at law shall be brought or maintained in respect thereof. No member of the Committee or Steward shall take part in the settlement of the disputed Award for which he is a competitor. 12 Hard hats It is mandatory for ALL riders (including judges) to wear a correctly secured British Standard skull cap / riding hat BS4477 or PS6473 or PAS015 or latest Standard. Such headgear must be worn with the chinstrap correctly and securely fastened at all times whilst mounted on the SHOWGROUND. The Association accepts no responsibility or liability for any injury arising from a failure to comply with this regulation. The use of HEAD CAMS are strictly prohibited, this includes use on the head, chest, bridle or any other part of the horse or rider. 13 Public Admission The public will be admitted to the Showground at rates to be decided annually by the Committee. 14 Car Parks Motor cars, lorries, coaches, motor cycles and cycles admitted will be left along with contents entirely at owner s risk. 15 Entry fees FLA reserves the right not to accept an entry. Entry fees cannot be refunded unless veterinary certificate if produced in respect of the horse or a doctor s certificate in respect of the exhibitor or rider, except in the case of British Show jumping members where fees will be refunded in accordance with rule 79/4. 16 Lost children Children who become separated from their parents or carers should be taken to the Framlingham Livestock Association (FLA) secretary's office and a FLA committee member informed. 17. Unacceptable Behaviour No behaviour of an offensive, abusive or unpleasant manner to any person at The Framlingham Horse Show will be tolerated. Any act of discourtesy to any Judge, Steward or any Show Official on the part of the competitor groom, rider, driver or agent of an animal, will, at the discretion of the Show Director disqualify that animal from being judged, in which case entry fees, prizes and charges will be forfeited. Exhibitors are reminded of their responsibility for the actions of others within their part. 18. Dress Competitors, grooms and attendants, appearing with animals in judging rings must be dressed appropriately (no jeans or shorts) with appropriate headwear and footwear. Any person not complying with this regulation may be asked to leave the ring by the Steward of Judge. All children 14 years and under must wear Hard Hat when showing In Hand. 19 Disclaimer of Liability The Association its Officers or Servants will not be responsible for, or accountable to, any person whatsoever for any damage or loss to the property of any person whatsoever or for any accident or injury fatal or otherwise or for any disease damage or loss that may occur to any person whilst upon the Showground or car parks or whilst entering or leaving the same. The Association, its Officers or Servants shall not in any way be responsible or accountable for any accident, loss or damage that may happen (from any cause or circumstances whatsoever) to exhibitors or their servants or agents, or to any exhibit or any vehicle conveying any exhibit, or any article or thing containing or relating to any exhibit or any other property brought into the Showground or for anything else in connection with, or arising out of, or attributable to, the Association's Show. Exhibitors, or their servants or agents, shall be solely responsible for any consequential or other loss, injury or damage done to, or occasioned by, or arising from any animal or article exhibited by them and shall indemnify the Association against all legal or other proceedings, claims and costs arising therefrom. Exhibitors, or their servants or agents should always be satisfied that animal handlers provide the correct and appropriate restraining method and equipment for use. Exhibitors are advised to insure against fire and other appropriate risks not only as regards their own property but also in respect of any third party claim.
