Message From Your President David Heldt Here it is November already. Thanksgiving is right around the corner and is always a good time to be thankful for our wonderful hunting dogs that we all have. I am sure most of you have done some hunting or plan on doing some as it is that time of the year. Hopefully you are having some success and those dogs are getting experience with retrieving at a real hunt. The board had a meeting this month on October 11 th. We are in the planning stages of our 2018 tests. The Upland test will be March 17 th and 18 th with the following weekend as a back up weekend in case of bad weather. Joe Olson will be chairing the Upland test this year. Our Spring test is May 19 th and 20 th and again we hope to have it at Indian Meadows. I will be chairing this test. The Fall test will be August 11 th and 12 th and we are working on the venue for this test. Mike Brockman will be chairing this test. Keep these dates open so that you can help with all it takes to put on these tests. We have contracted our ducks this year with a new place Mile High Gambirds by Milliken. And we should be able to get some from this place for our training days as well. Our annual meeting will hopefully be January 10, at 6:30 pm at the Fort Lupton Rec (Continued on page 2) DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS TO THIS NEWSLETTER IS THE 26th OF EACH MONTH. Materials received after the deadline will not be included. Submissions are subject to the editor s decision on inclusion and may be edited. Opinions are those of the various authors and may not express the official position of the PVHRC, Inc. Member contributions to this newsletter is encouraged
2 P a ge 2 center if we can book it again this year. There will also be some kind of food for everyone prior to our meeting. We plan on having a drawing of 3 - $50 gift certificates. Also remember it s time to renew your memberships for Lee Ann will be putting the new 2018 Membership Application out on our website so that if you want to send your membership in early you can do so. I know most of you wait and bring your payment to the annual meeting and that is fine. We are also looking for a few new board members for If interested please contact me. dr.heldt@hotmail.com The website has the 2018 calendar out for hunt tests in our regions. You may want to go check it out so that you have those dates saved for tests that you may want to run. Two of them have not confirmed there dates and have been marked tentatively. Willie Ratliff will be hosting a Judges/ Handlers seminar sometime in or March. When I get that date I will have Lee Ann update the calendar with it. We will be hosting it this year. Happy Hunting! David Heldt President PVHRC Members, The 2017/2018 hunting season is upon us and if you have any photos of hunt, please them to Curt curt. lacey@yahoo.com so that I can put them in the Wags and Brags pages. Thank you, Curt (Continued from page 1)
