At various times in Britain's history, monarchs have banned the likes of football, bowls and even golf, because men were playing these sports rather than practicing archery in their spare time. All club information is posted There is also a lot of archery information on Facebook, links are in place Current News Winter league two more weeks left to shoot Tuesday nights. o o However, on Tuesday nights, all the lanes are not full. If you want to come out and shoot with the group, come out and join in the fun. We re usually out by 9 pm. The club would like to thank Greg and Melissa for organizing all the shoots this winter. A great time was had by all! Your hard work is greatly appreciated! Also, the club would like to thank Tim Sheriff for setting up the online sign-up process! Great job! An outdoor league will be starting soon. Stay tuned! The first 3D shoot will be April 9 th. 3D shoots We need people to be involved and come out and shoot. o We are also looking for a special person to be our ambassador and champion 3D shooting. Could you be that person? Members that are 3D shooters will have their entry fees reduced by $2 per shoot. If any club member has any ideas on how to increase attendance for next year's 3D shoots, your input would be greatly appreciated, contact an officer or Board member. The JOAD tournament yielded $206 and $348 in range fees during the course of the season. Thanks JOAD! Keep up the good work and keep on shooting! There will be a work day on April 8 th 8 am to 12 noon. If you are not able to work please contact Bruce to make arrangements for a make-up. Working a tournament is a great way to make-up a work assignment! Besides, it s great fun and a great opportunity to connect with your fellow archers! The gate has been found opened on a couple of occasions. Please be sure to close and lock the gate. It is past that time of year, membership renewal. If you haven t paid your dues, please be sure to pay your dues ASAP. Dues are $60 for Working or $120 for Social membership. Bring to a meeting or send a check and a stamped self-addressed envelope, so we can send you the new membership card, to: Falcon Archers P.O. Box Pittsburgh, PA Anyone having pictures from tournaments or hunts please forward copies to me for inclusion in the newsletter. The Aerie Page 2

3 General Information Be sure to review the various shoot flyers and other relevant information that is posted on the bulletin boards. Falcon Archery logo items are available online. Order a new shirt today! The club is thinking about offering Archery 101 classes for new shooters. If you are interested in participating, please let one of the officers know. We are still researching. Shoot Fees & Membership Card Don t forget to sign in and pay the shoot fee every time you shoot indoors or out. Also, don t forget to display your Falcon membership card while on the property. Work Assignments Be sure to finish work assignments in a timely manner. Keeping our shooting lanes mowed and running the weed eater are critical. Next Meeting Meetings are always the second Wednesday of the month. The next meeting will be April 12, 2017 at 8:00 pm.
