He was given to Judy Howerton, a first whip for Bedford County Hunt for many years. No Clouds was arguably the best whip s horse BCH had ever known, and came to symbolize the No Clouds Perpetual Trophy, awarded to the horse that best represents the spirit of a true field hunter. High Point Hunter(Morning Show) - Awarded to the horse with the most points from the morning hunter classes.

(Classes that are eligible: 25, 26, 27, 31, 32, 33) High Point Pleasure/Hunter Horse or Pony - Award will be presented to the pleasure/hunter horse or pony that has accumulated the most points for the afternoon. 4 Show Rules Entry fees $12.00 per class The Bedford County Hunt Club, Randolph College, BRHF nor any of their personnel will be responsible for any accident or loss that may occur to horse, rider or guest. All riders must sign Equine release/waivers for both Bedford County Hunt and Randolph College before competing. A signed check must be left with the entry to receive a number. A negative Coggins Report within 12 months must be recorded in the show office with your entry. If a rider goes into a class without being added first there will be a $5.00 penalty fee added to their bill. Management reserves the right to add, combine, or cancel classes. All riders must wear an ASTM approved, properly fitted helmet while mounted on the show grounds. Stabling is available at Randolph College Stables-please phone to make your reservation. Directions -From LEXINGTON follow 81S.to Buena Vista Exit (Route 60). Follow Route 60E to 501S to Lynchburg. As you come into Lynchburg you will see Mitchell s Store on the right and Boonsboro Volunteer Fire &Rescue on the left. Turn right onto Coffee Rd. just after passing these 2 landmarks. Go 1 mile and turn left onto Hawkins Mill Rd., the entrance to Randolph College is the first right. -From ROANOKE follow 460E to 221N. Exit onto 221N in Bedford. Follow 221N into Lynchburg. Go past Graves Mill Shopping Center and turn left at the next traffic light onto Cottontown Rd. (Rte. 621). When the road forks bear to your right- you are now on Hawkins Mill Rd. Continue straight. You will come to a stop sign, keep straight and the Randolph College entrance will be your next left. -From DANVILLE follow 29N to Lynchburg. Pick up 501N (small sign across from the carpet store). Continue straight for several miles. At the second traffic light turn left onto 501N Expressway. Take the Wiggington Rd. Exit. Follow Wiggington Rd. to the end and turn right onto Hawkins Mill rd.- Randolph College entrance is the next left. -From CHARLOTTESVILLE follow 29S to Lynchburg. Pick up 501N when you see the overhead sign (here 29S will split off to your left-do not take this exit). Follow 501N. Travel to the second traffic light. Turn left here onto 501N Expressway. Take the Wiggington rd. Exit. Follow Wiggington Rd. to the end and turn right onto Hawkins Mill Rd.- Randolph College entrance is the next left.

5 BRHF Class Descriptions Baby Green Hunter: Horses are considered green for 24 months and may not show in any class with over 2 fences except Baby Green Jumpers and Hunter Hack. Once they move up they cannot move back. A horse/rider combination may win this division only once. Hopeful Hunter: Fences not to exceed 2 3. Foxhunter Classes: Open to horses or ponies who have hunted at least 2 times with a registered hunt club. Schooling Hunter: Fences not to exceed 2 6. Open Equitation: Fences not to exceed 2 6. BRHF Equitation Medal: Riders to jump a 2 6 course first, and the top 6 riders will be called back for the flat phase. Riders may be tested on the flat using USEF Equitation Tests 1-9. If further testing is needed, riders may be asked to jump a shortened course, which may have other testing elements within the course. Low Hunter: Fences not to exceed 2 9. Intermediate Hunter Rider Division: To be judged as an equitation class. This class is intended for Intermediate/novice riders or any age that have completed their first year of showing. Riders may not show in any other over fences classes, or 2 fence classes, at the same show (Except Hunter Hack). Rider will be considered an Intermediate for 24 months from first show date in this division. If for any reason the rider moves up within 2 years time limit, he/she cannot return to Intermediate status. Once a rider wins Intermediate Hunter Rider Division they may not win the division another year. Fences not to exceed 2 Hunter Pleasure: Judged as a performance class. There is one hack class consisting of a flat phase and jumping one line of 2 jumps. Beginner Hunter Rider Division: To be judged as an equitation Class. Intended for riders of any age beginning their show experience. Riders may not show in any other over fences class at the same show (Except Hunter Hack). A Beginner Hunter Rider is one that is starting their show career. If a rider moves up from beginner level before the one-year expiration, he/she cannot return to beginner status. Riders cannot cross enter to Beginner Horse/Pony. If a rider, their family, or trainer does not feel after the one-year status they are ready to safely move up to Intermediate Hunter Rider, they may appeal to the BRHF board to extend their beginner status for another year. To appeal contact the BRHF board president. A rider may win this division only once. Beginner Hunter Horse/Pony: In each particular division, a horse will be considered a beginner for 12 months from the first date of show (i.e. Feb./Jan). If a horse/rider moves up from beginner level before the one-year expiration, he/she cannot return to beginner status. An entry in this class may not show in any other over fences class at the same show (except Hunter Hack), and may not cross enter to Beginner Hunter rider. Pre-Beginner Rider: Open to riders on horses or ponies, in their first year of showing. Riders may not cross enter to other divisions.

In Memory of Donna Johnson Donna was a member of Bedford County Hunt for longer than I can remember. She managed the horse shows for a few years before passing them on to me.

7 In Memory of Donna Johnson Donna was a member of Bedford County Hunt for longer than I can remember. She managed the horse shows for a few years before passing them on to me. If you have shown at any of our BCH shows in the past 10 years, then you have seen Donna working busily at the secretary stand. Not only did she contribute her expertise to the horse show, she was a devoted whippers-in out in the hunt field helping to keep all of those ornery hounds in line. Hunting has not been the same without her, and she is missed very much.
