1 Winona Sunset Lions Club NEWS LETTER November 2008 Our motto is We Serve LION SUDHARSAN IYENGAR (BHASKAR), PRESIDENT From the computer of our president.. Hope you all are enjoying the Fall Colors. I love it. The four seasons of Minnesota remind us of the variety that nature has within it. We are blessed and fortunate when we are healthy and capable. Let us pay it forward, as a group, to those who need assistance. Lions clubs are communities where we set aside some of our time and resources for a common cause. Ask someone to join this community and contribute to the common good. Our next main fundraiser is the Lloyd Bischel Chili Dinner, on Thursday - December 11. We will need all the help. The kitchen will open at 8 am. We will start serving at 4:30 pm. Lion Dennis Van Drunen has the purchase of groceries on track. Lion Larry Betchwars has a handle on the paper goods. So, we have things pretty well in hand. Lions Bhaskar and Paul Schumacher are now the Zone Meeting Winona American Legion Thursday, November 20 Contact President! The Sunset Lions Meetings for the Month chairs of this event... so, you know it will run very smoothly. Tickets will be available soon. Let us have a big pre-sales and a significant turnout. Lion Paul Schumacher had prepared Vegetarian Chili last year, and it was a success. We will again have vegetarian chill this year. Please keep this in mind as you sell tickets. Zone meeting will be in Winona, at the New American Legion, on November 20th. I need to forward a count of attendees to the Rivertown Lions, who are hosting it. Please let me know as soon as you can. Lions Club International Convention in 2009 will be in Minneapolis. We should have details soon. Let us plan and make it a grand success. If you have any questions don t hesitate to inquire with any of the Sunset Lions Officers or members. Ask someone, near and dear to you, to be a Lion.
