Day 2: To Kibale Forest home of the great apes! You will embark on a Safari route that traces the Western Rift valley in the heart of Africa to the West of Uganda through many hills, surrounded by small villages, picturesque green tea plantations and beautiful landscapes. This part of Uganda is characterized by the presence of numerous crater lakes of volcanic origin fairy like surroundings and the charming green Tea plantations.

3 On arrival at Kibale forest, you will enter a completely different world some serious monkey business! Although you are here specifically to track Chimps, the forest is home to at least 12 Primate Species including: the Red Tailed Monkey, Olive Baboon, Black and White Colobus plus Blue Monkeys. The bird life in the forest is also prolific and includes the beautiful Great Blue Turaco. If you are very lucky, you may even catch a Glimpse of the meandering herd of Forest Elephant. Journey time: 7hrs Optional Evening activity In the late afternoon you can optionally choose to indulge in the fascinating Bigodi Wetlands. The Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary features 8 primate species, numerous other interesting mammals, over 200 bird species, many reptiles, and uncounted varieties of trees, shrubs and vines. Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking/to Queen Elizabeth N.P Chimpanzee tracking is the most popular of Kibale's walks and starts at 08:00. Habituated groups have been tracked since 1993 and the chance of finding them is very good indeed. Also look out for the black and white colobus, red tailed monkey and gray cheeked mangabey. Your guides will point out sunbirds, pittas and other bird species and will explain the traditional uses of plant species within the forest.

4 Optional activity: Chimpanzee Habituation tracking: At an additional fee of only $70 us dollar pp you do the chimpanzee habituation tracking instead of the regular chimpanzee tracking. This will take all day and you will be 100% sure to have a very close encounter with your closest relatives. Book this in time because only 6 persons per day are allowed to go. After lunch, you ll head out through the breath taking; ever green mountain country to the beautiful wilderness of Queen Elizabeth National Park. As you head to your lodge, a mini- game drive through the open savannah of Acacia on the edge of the Albertine Rift valley will enable you view a variety of wild animals. Queen Elizabeth National Park is the oldest& second largest National Park in Uganda, It is located at the base of the massive Rwenzori Mountains, adjacent to lakes Edward & George, covered by Savannah plains that provide an abundance of Game viewing like; Elephants that trumpet when you get too close, lazy Leopards laying in the sun, abundant Gazelle and buck, Lions, Buffaloes, Hippos and others. Your lodge is set on a peninsular overlooking the Kazinga Channel, Mweya safari Lodge consists of a series of thatch luxurious suites that are individually decorated in an

5 eclectic style. Sundowners are taken on the airy veranda or by the pool and meals at communal tables in the dining room. Journey time: 2hrs Day 4: Game Drive + Boat safari This morning starts with a game drive to the Kasenyi Area to look for lion prides and other wildlife. Uganda kobs mate around this area and this gives you a chance to see their breeding behaviors. Many animals will cross your paths, elephants, antelopes and with a bit of luck also lions or hyenas. After your game drive, relax by the hotel pool with a magnificent view of the Mweya peninsula. At 2:00 pm you will take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel- a natural channel which connects Lake Edward to Lake George. View Buffaloes, Elephants, Waterbucks, Crocodiles and the highest concentration of Hippos plus a variety of colourful species of Water birds like Crested Eagles, Pelicans and Cormorants an Amazing diverse collection of the African animal Kingdom which comes to the waterhole to drink or bathe. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour. Optional activity: Hot Air Balloon Safari:

6 Experience the wildlife of Queen Elizabeth NP in a new, unique way. Wake up early to catch the sunrise, as you silently fly over the plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Admire the herds of buffaloes, elephants and enjoy the serene tranquility of the African bush You will take off early at dawn for a balloon flight that lasts for approximately 1 hour. Rise as the suns rises and float in whatever direction the winds of the morning take you. Fly higher than the trees and hills and enjoy the best of Uganda, with many great photo opportunities of the scenery and wildlife below. After a smooth landing you can celebrate this amazing adventure with a glass of sparkling juice before returning to your lodge to continue your safari. Costing: $380 us dollar p.p. Optional activity: Lion Tracking. For visitors who yearn to get up close to wild African fauna, a research trip is a rewarding adventure. This new and unique experience allows visitors to actively participate in monitoring some of lions in the park, using locator devices and learn habituation calls, as well as monitoring weather, surroundings and behavior. The results are added to researchers databases, contributing valuable information to the overall understanding of wildlife ecology - and helping to conserve this wonderful ecosystem. This will as well gives you a 95% chance to see the lions!

7 The number of people on each outing is limited in order to reduce stress on the animals and to increase the quality of the experience for visitors. The experiential tourism activities currently available are; Mongoose Tracking, Lion Tracking, Hippo Census, and Bird Counts. Experiential tours lasts between one and three hours. They usually take place in the early morning or evening, or occasionally at night. All activities must be booked through the Visitor Information Centre in Mweya at least 24 hours in advance. Costing: $150 us dollar p.p. Day 5: Game Drive Ishasha - to Bwindi National Park You ll have an early set off for the day- 7:00am. Head out for your final game drive through the beautiful wilderness of Ishasha plains that are a part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. A game drive through the open savannah of Acacia on the edge of the Albertine Rift valley will bring you upclose to the Tree climbing Lions and other wild animals. You ll have a lunch snack out of your packed lunch boxes then proceed through the breath taking; ever green mountain country - deep to the south-western border of Uganda and Rwanda. You will see a great country-side of bamboo forest and have great views of landscape as you enter into Bwindi Impenetrable forest. Your lodge is perched in the shadow of the Bwindi Impenetrable forest- Gorilla valley lodge offers lovely accommodation combined with the most beautiful views of the forest. Journey time: 7hrs Day 6: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Today is the big day Prepare yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindi s gentle giants: the rare Mountain Gorilla. For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda.

8 You will be required to wake up early in the morning then you will be led to the visitor s reception for a briefing to the park, where you are allocated guides before heading into the forest. Proceed to the forest in search of the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest boasts both Mountain Gorillas and Chimpanzees - the only forest in Africa which can make this claim in fact. It also hosts five other species of primate, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies and 360 birds. The Gorillas you will track belong to one of nine habituated family groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day. Your trek will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the Gorillas habitat. En-route, your guide will point out signs of previous Gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. The time taken to track the Gorillas can take as little as 2 hours! Once the Gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a Mountain Gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda s very own Gorillas in the Mist. Day 7: Flight to Entebbe/To the River Nile Today, you ll have an early breakfast then make your way to Kisoro airstrip. 9:10am, your domestic flight will set off for Entebbe Airport and arrive at 11:25am. Your Adventurous vacation ends on an absolute high: leaving the Gorillas, wildlife and other primates behind, you take off for vibrant Jinja - you will make your way to the second largest town and the colonial manufacturing hub. In Jinja the Nile River begins its journey from Lake Victoria all the way up to the Mediterranean Sea. On arrival in Jinja, you will proceed to the Haven lodge situated by the River Nile. Journey time: 4.5hrs Day 8: Optional Activities by the Nile

9 Today all the activities that you choose to undertake are at the clients own discretion and will subsequently be paid for by the client. You can optionally embark on a half day white Water Rafting spree on some of the best Grade five cascades in the world. Other Optional Activities include; White water rafting, horseback safari along the Nile, Quad-biking, Whitewater kayaking on the Nile, sundowner cruise on the Nile, tour the source of the Nile, Big Game mini-golf, A visit to Jinja market, Village walk and Sport fishing on the Nile. You can optionally skip all the adventure and choose to leisurely wind down or relax by the Nile with a book in hand. Optional activities: 1. Tour of the Source of the Nile (USD 30 pp) Day 9: Return to Entebbe Before departing for Entebbe, you can optionally indulge in a brief city tour of Jinja or transfer to Jinja gardens from where you ll take a boat to the actual Source of the Nile. The first explorer to discover the source of Nile is believed to be John Hanning Speke in At the source, stands the mighty Lake Victoria which is believed to be the source of the Nile. Waters from the large lake leave by the Victoria Nile to head north to join the Albert Nile in Northern Uganda.

10 During this boat tour, you will be able to view a wide variety of birds, monitor lizards and other aquatic life. Depart Jinja heading through Kampala to Carpe Diem Guest House with a beautiful view of Lake Victoria and the neighbouring suburbs. Journey time: 4hrs Day 10: Winging your way home in the early morning After two days by the Nile and 6 days exploring African jungles & the diverse Savannah, it is time to bid this paradise farewell. You have woken at dawn, dined under the stars, explored the longest river in the world, followed the game and marvelled at gorillas where else in the world could you experience all this?
