3 PLEASE READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY The firearms licensing is now under a new computerized system MIRC s (MASSACHUSETTS INSTANT RECORDS CHECK). This computerized database automatically checks your background for Court appearances, past activity, INCLUDING APPEARANCES WHICHMAY HAVE BEEN CONTINUED WITHOUT a FINDING (CWOF). NOTE: Regardless what you may have been told in the past about CWOF Cases disappearing from the record. They are part of your record. This new system is much more accurate than the old system, which mostly relied on a human conducting hand search of your record. Even if you did not list activity on past applications. You must list everything on these new applications You must answer application questions truthfully! Any false answers on a firearms license or FID license application will be just cause for denial or revocation of a license to carry firearms. *Warning: any person who knowingly files an application containing false information shall be punished by a fine of not less than$ nor more than $ or by imprisonment for not less than 6 months nor more than 2 years in a house of correction, or by both such fine and imprisonment (MGL C140 S129B(8) and 131(h)). 3
