Abt Generation No ALSEY 3 REECE (ROGER JR. 2, ROGER 1 ) was born Abt in Wake County, North Carolina, and died Aft in Haywood Co., Tn.. He married WILLY ANN MEDLIN October 03, 1828 in Wilson County, Tenn., daughter of WILLIAM MEDLIN and ALIA YOUNG. Notes for ALSEY REECE: Occupation: Farmer Military: 2nd. Regiment, Tennessee Volunteers, War of 1812 SOURCE: Jeff Reece, descendant Residences: Wake Co., Granville Co., North Carolina: smith Co., Wilson Co., Madison Co., Haywood Co., and possible either Gibson Co., and/or Crockett Co., Tennessee Louisa: husband Allen Littles was the uncle of Susan Lane Little, wife of Eliza's younger brother, Henry Kemp Reece. 4 Jasper Marion: Occupation: farmer Military: 22nd. Tennessee Infantry, Confederate States Army, U.S. Civil War Church: Providence Baptist Church Buried: Providence Cemetery More About ALSEY REECE: Military service: 1812, War of 1812 Tennessee Volunteers Notes for WILLY ANN MEDLIN: INFO From Jeff Reece: He thinks Alia's maiden name was Young. He also believes her husband was a William Medlin who died in Franklin Co. He also believes that Alia and her children moved to Wilson Co. after William's death. The following is information from Jeff Reece: I have done a good bit of work on the Medlins and have been very frustrated by not being able to find out who Willy Ann's father was. I am sure Willy and Luarken Medlin were sisters.. Luarken was married in 1827 in Wilson County and Willy in I am sure their mother was Alia Medlin.. I have Alia's possible children listed **(listed on FGS under Alia). I also had listed Agnes Medlin who married William Frank Young as a possible daughter of Alia.. But she may been a daughter of Littleton. Some of the others listed above may have been his children also. Alia died in the 1860's in Van Buren County, Arkansas. She moved with several of her children to Arkansas. Luarken, Nancy, Wilson and Harriet all moved to Arkansas although Wilson and Harriet later returned to Crockett County. I found a reference to Nancy Medlin Ligon in a Civil War questionnaire in Arkansas for one of her sonsin-law. He said that Nancy's father was Nathan Medlin of North Carolina. But I have not been able to find a Nathan Medlin in North Carolina that fits with Alia's family. I now think the reference was wrong. Lindley Beaird served as security for the administration of the estate of old Bradley Medlin in 1843 in Madison County along with Gray B. Medlin. I am not sure how Bradley was related but think he may have been an uncle of Gray and Luarken. Another siblings marry siblings situation: Joseph Terrell, Alia Ann and Jasper Marion Reece married three Brasfield siblings, Sarah Anne, Alpha Henton and Amanda Jo... Jeff Reece 4
