Dear Valued Partner: With the holidays fast approaching and the weather turning colder, demand for our products continues to rise. As we see every year at this time, there is an influx in the number of questions about the use of fur and down in Canada Goose products, so we want to share with you some updated information and significant developments. For us, authenticity is everything: we are committed to providing full transparency about how we make our products. We believe animals are entitled to humane treatment in life and death, and we are deeply committed to the responsible use and ethical sourcing of all animal materials in our products. We do not condone any willful mistreatment and neglect of animals or acts that maliciously cause undue pain, injury or suffering. This is why we recently implemented comprehensive traceability programs for both Fur and Down to ensure they are sourced from animals that have not been subjected to any unfair practices or undue harm, and that materials are fully traceable throughout the supply chain. The Canada Goose Down Transparency Standard is our commitment to tracking the source of all of our down, from farm to factory. Through a third-party audit program conducted by International Down & Feather Industries, we can certify that our down only comes as a by-product from the poultry industry and has not come from live-plucked or force-fed birds. It also ensures that all down we source adheres to the Five Freedoms policy set out by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and European Convention for the Protection of Animals Kept for Farming Purposes. The Canada Goose Fur Transparency Standard is our commitment to support the ethical, responsible and sustainable sourcing and use of real fur. The first traceability program to cover the wild habitat, it ensures that all fur sourced by Canada Goose is in accordance with the Agreement of International Humane Trapping Standards (AIHTS) in Canada and the Best Managed Practices (BMP) in the United States, and is fully traceable throughout the supply chain. The standard certifies that we never purchase fur from fur farms, never use fur from endangered animals, and only purchase fur from licensed North American trappers strictly regulated by state, provincial and federal standards. In the following pages you will find more detailed information about our new transparency standards, updated information, and guidance on how to answer questions from consumers. We have also produced a series of videos that will be available for use as of December 5th that have been posted to our YouTube channel, in order to better equip consumers with the facts around our ethical sourcing and responsible use of fur and down. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your Canada Goose sales representative directly. Kind regards, Carrie Baker Chief of Staff, SVP Canada Goose

The Canada Goose Transparency Standard Why We Use Down We choose down because it is recognized as the world s best insulator, providing approximately three times the warmth per ounce as synthetic insulators, enabling us to create a significantly warmer and lighter product. Each ounce of down has approximately two million fluffy filaments that interlock and overlap to create insulating pockets of air, which is what delivers warmth. We never use down from live-plucked or force-fed birds, and only purchase down that comes as a by-product from the poultry industry. We purchase all of our down from Feather Industries Canada Ltd., a Canadian down-procurement company and all of our down is hypoallergenic, laboratory-tested and exceeds all Canadian and International Cleanliness Standards. All of our down blends contain some Hutterite down, which is among the most premium and warmest Canadian down available allowing us to manufacture lighter jackets without sacrificing warmth. Canada Goose was a founding member of the Down Association of Canada and has been an active participant for the 30 years since. For more information on down and its benefits, please visit our partner s website at The Canada Goose Down Transparency Standard The Down Transparency Standard is our commitment to tracking the source of all of our down, from farm to factory. By January 2017, all down insulation used in new Canada Goose products will be fully traceable and compliant with our strict requirements which ensure that all animals have not been subjected to any unfair practices, inhumane treatment or undue harm. All suppliers including down farms, manufaturing plants and Feather Industries Canada must meet our strict requirements, including full traceability, and are subject to regular audits conducted by an independent third party to ensure compliance, including: We never use down from live-plucked or force-fed birds and only purchase down that comes as a by-product from the poultry industry All down used by Canada Goose is sourced according to the Five Freedoms policy set out by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and the European Convention for the Protection of Animals Kept for Farming Purposes, that states that: All animals shall be free from hunger and thirst All animals shall be free from avoidable discomfort, including that caused by negligence All animals shall be free from pain, injury or disease All animals shall be free to express normal and social behaviour All animals shall be free from undue fear and stress. 3 Why We Use Fur As a function-first company, authenticity is everything to Canada Goose. We make the best products of their kind by using the highest quality raw materials and craftsmanship to ensure we deliver a product that performs when and where it s needed most. Many of our jackets are built to protect people in the coldest places on Earth places where exposed skin can freeze in an instant. In these environments, we believe that fur is the best choice. Having fur trim around a jacket hood disrupts airflow and creates turbulent air, which helps protect the face from frostbite. We strongly support the ethical, responsible and sustainable use of fur. We only purchase fur from licensed North American trappers, who are regulated by state, provincial and territorial wildlife government agencies. According to wildlife biologists and other experts, trapping is an essential conservation tool to help maintain stable and healthy wildlife populations in a responsible way. Having worked with them for more than 40 years, we know these trappers have a profound respect both for animals and for nature, and we are proud to support them. We use coyote fur because it is a highly abundant, sustainable and bio-degradable material. In fact, in many regions of North America, coyotes are considered a pest as they attack livestock, endangered prey species, pets, and increasingly, even people. The Canada Goose Fur Transparency Standard The Canada Goose Fur Transparency Standard is our commitment to support the ethical, responsible and sustainable sourcing and use of real fur. All fur used in new Canada Goose products will be fully traceable as of April The Fur Transparency Standard is based on requirements set out in the Agreement of International Humane Trapping Standards (AIHTS) for Canada, and in the United States, The Best Managed Practices (BMP) which are developed by industry experts to ensure the ethical and humane treatment of animals. Through our suppliers, Canada Goose requires all trappers, collectors, and auction houses to abide by both the Trapper s Code of Conduct which ensures that all state, provincial and federal best practices are followed, and the strict requirements set out in the Fur Transparency Standard, including: We never use furs from endandgered species we use coyote furs only from Northwest regions of Canada and the U.S. where coyote populations are confirmed to be highly abundant. We only source fur from licensed, qualified trappers, regulated through their state, provincial or territorial wildlife government agencies. All trapping techniques and trap selection have passed regulatory oversight from all relevant state, provincial and federal best practices. The Fur Transparency Standard introduces the first comprehensive traceability program that covers the wild habitat. Frequently Asked Questions: Fur and Down 2

Frequently Asked Questions: Fur & Down Using Fur & Down Why does Canada Goose insist on using real fur? We are a function-first company. We make the best products of their kind by using the highest quality raw materials and craftsmanship to ensure we deliver a product that performs when and where it s needed most. Our jackets are used in some of the coldest places on Earth, where skin around the face can freeze in an instant. We use fur because having fur trim around a jacket hood disrupts airflow and creates turbulent air which helps protect the face from frostbite. Why don t you use fake fur instead? Authenticity is everything to Canada Goose. Real fur is bio-degradable and sustainable where faux fur is not. Why does Canada Goose still use animal materials for its products, considering there are so many synthetic alternatives out there? We understand and respect that some people think animal products should never be used in any consumer products, however we do not share that view. We are committed to providing full transparency about how we make our products, including the ethical sourcing and responsible use of animal products. Is there really such a thing as ethically-sourced down and fur? Canada Goose holds all of its suppliers to strict standards that are in accordance with state, provincial and territorial wildlife government agencies to ensure all down and fur is sourced from animals that have not been subjected to any unfair practices, inhumane treatment or undue harm and is fully traceable throughout the supply chain. Canada Goose also employed the International Down and Feather Laboratory (IDFL) as a third party auditor to ensure all down meets its strict and comprehensive standards. I ve seen videos that show Canada Goose tortures animals, geese being live-plucked, etc. aren t they true? No these videos are not from Canada Goose suppliers. Canada Goose does not condone any willful mistreatment or neglect of animals, or acts that maliciously cause undue pain, injury or suffering. We only source fur, through our suppliers, from licensed North American trappers who are strictly regulated by state, provincial and federal standards. We never use down from live-plucked or force-fed birds and only purchase down that comes as a by-product from the poultry industry. In 2016, we implemented the Down and Fur Transparency Standards, which are comprehensive traceability programs to ensure all down and fur is sourced from animals that have not been subjected to any unfair practices, inhumane treatment or undue harm and is fully traceable throughout the supply chain. Frequently Asked Questions: Fur and Down 1

Where does Canada Goose get its fur from? Through our suppliers, we source fur only from licensed trappers in North America, who are strictly regulated by state, provincial and federal standards. According to wildlife biologists and other experts, trapping is an essential conservation tool to help maintain stable and healthy wildlife populations in a responsible way. As of April 2017, all of our fur products will be fully traceable back to where they were sourced and certified to be in accordance with the Agreement of International Humane Trapping Standards (AIHTS) in Canada and the Best Managed Practices (BMP) in the United States. Where does Canada Goose get its down from? We purchase all of our down from Feather Industries Canada Ltd., a Canadian down-procurement company and all of our down is hypoallergenic, laboratory-tested and exceeds all Canadian and International Cleanliness Standards. We never use down from live-plucked or force-fed birds, and only purchase down that comes as a by-product from the poultry industry. By January 2017, all down insulation used in new Canada Goose products will be fully traceable and compliant with our strict requirements which ensure that all animals have not been subjected to any unfair practices, inhumane treatment or undue harm. What does by-product of the poultry industry mean? We purchase all of our down from Feather Industries Canada Ltd., a Canadian down-procurement company that sources high-quality down from farms that raise duck and geese for their meat. The down we purchase is a secondary product or result of the poultry industry and we never source down from live-plucked or force-fed birds. All down procured by Feather Industries is purchased from approved vendors, that meet our Down Transparency Standard and are subject to third-partyaudits from the International Down and Feather Testing Laboratory (IDFL). How can you call the killing of animals humane? Trapping is one of the most highly regulated outdoor activities in North America, according to the International Journal of Envirnonmental Studies. All trappers we source fur from have been certified to be in accordance with the Agreement of International Humane Trapping Standards (AIHTS) in Canada and the Best Managed Practices (BMP) in the United States, through state, provincial and territorial wildlife government agencies, to ensure the ethical and humane treatment of animals through the trapping process. The trappers we purchase fur from live closely to the land and maintain traditions that have been passed down through generations. They have a profound respect for nature and have been a driving force in improving animal welfare and ethical trapping standards across North America. We never use down from live-plucked or force-fed birds and only purchase down that comes as a by-product from the poultry industry. The farmers we source from care deeply about the health and well being of their fowl and view looking after the welfare of the animals as their top priority. Through our comprehensive Down Transparency Standard, we regularly conduct third-party audits of the farms we source from to ensure they are in compliance with our strick standards. How are coyotes actually killed? Coyotes are either shot in the wild or captured by government sanctioned traps that are regulated by the Agreement of International Humane Trapping Standards (AIHTS) in Canada and the Best Managed Practices (BMP) in the United States. Frequently Asked Questions: Fur and Down 2

Is the coyote population really that plentiful? Yes. Coyotes are highly abundant and are listed as a species of least concern on the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources) Red List of threatened species. I hear your fur is aquired using traps with big sharp claws and the coyote is left to die...is it true? All trappers that we source from are governered by the Agreement of International Humane Trapping Standards (AIHTS) in Canada and the Best Managed Practices (BMP) in the United States to ensure that animals are trapped using the most humane methods available. Canada is actually a leader in trap research, led by the Fur Institute of Canada s Trap Research Program, that reviews and tests all traps before they can be certified for use by trappers under AIHTS. Canada Goose also requires all trappers it sources from to abide by the Trapper s Code of Conduct and our own Fur Transparency Standard to ensure the fur is sourced from animals that have not been subjected to any unfaiar practices, inhumane treatment or undue harm. Why don t you make products without fur? We do. We pride ourselves on offering consumers with different styles, viewpoints and tastes as much choice as possible when purchasing Canada Goose products. In fact, more than half of the styles in our 2016 collection are fur-free, and our entire spring collection is non-fur. How do you ensure the fur you use is acquired humanely? In 2016, we implemented the Fur Transparency Standard, a comprehensive traceability program to ensure all fur is sourced from animals that have not been subjected to any unfair practices, inhumane treatment, or undue harm and is fully traceable throughout the supply chain. By April 2017, all of our fur products will be fully traceable back to where they were sourced and certified to be in accordance with the Agreement of International Humane Trapping Standards (AIHTS) in Canada and the Best Managed Practices (BMP) in the United States. Canada Goose Transparency Standards What is the goal of the traceability program? How do consumers know you re telling the truth? We understand and respect that some people think animal products should never be used in any consumer products, however we do not share that view. We strongly believe that our consumers have the right to know how our products are made, which is why we have implemented comprehensive traceability programs for both Fur and Down to ensure they are sourced from animals that have not been subjected to any unfair practices, willfull mistreatment or undue harm, and that the fur and down we source is fully traceable throughout the supply chain. All suppliers must meet our strict requirements, including full traceability, and are subject to regular audits conducted by independent third parties to ensure compliance. We have a firm protocol in place if any supplier is found in breach of these strict requirements. Frequently Asked Questions: Fur and Down 3

Why is Canada Goose just now implementing a fur & down traceability program? Ethically sourced down and fur have always been an important part of our story. We believe all animals are entitled to humane treatment in life and death, and are deeply committed to the responsible use and ethical sourcing of all animal materials in our products. We recently implemented comprehensive traceability programs for both Fur and Down to ensure they are sourced in line with our committment to animal welfare. We do not condone any willful mistreatment, or neglect of animals, or acts that maliciously cause undue pain, injury or suffering. How will these standards be implemented and actually upheld? International Down and Feather Laboratory (IDFL) will serve as the third party auditor to ensure international standards of animal welfare are being met and maintained for down. Through our suppliers, Canada Goose requires all trappers, collectors, and auction houses abide by both the Trapper s Code of Conduct, which ensure that all state, provincial and federal best practices are followed, and the strict requirements et out in the Fur Transparency Standard. Will this program really benefit consumers, or is it just a marketing tactic? The program will help to establish a transparent supply chain to which Canada Goose, its consumers, and the public can be assured of the ethical sourcing of our fur and down. What makes the Canada Goose Transparency Standards different from other manufacturers current practices? Canada Goose has a unique supply chain and has designed our traceability program to give consumers as much information as possible about how our products are manufactured and where they come from. How does this program guarantee that Canada Goose knows where the fur used for its products is coming from? Our Fur Transparency Standard is designed to maintain and ensure traceability throughout the supply chain as well as the welfare of wildlife during trapping. In addition, regular audits for our down and fur partners throughout the supply chain allow us to have visibility and enforce the standards set out in the program.
