3 1. Firearm Safety Rules: All Guns are always loaded. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to kill or destroy. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it. 2. General Range Guidelines: Normal hours of operation: Legal Sunrise to legal Sunset, 7 days a week. SAFETY on ranges is of vital importance. Members must obey the posted range rules at all times while on the club ranges. Members who violate the range rules may be denied the use of the range, and in some cases, membership may be suspended or terminated. The Training Range behind the clubhouse may be used by the membership if it is not being used for a scheduled event. Targets MUST be placed so that bullets will impact the berm and not the ground. Members may use any safe firearm on this range. Falling steel plates located on this range may only be shot with handgun calibers. The Multiplex Range complex consists of eight separate bays as follows: A 100 yard range for general purposes with shooting benches. A 50 yard range for general purposes with shooting benches. A 50 yard range with dividers. Five Action Shooting Bays. The Multiplex range is open for general use of the membership, except when club scheduled events are being held on the range. Members may use any safe firearm on these ranges, with the exception of a.50 BMG firearm. The side berms of the action bays may be used for target backstops. Targets MUST be placed so bullets impact the berms and not the ground. The 300 yard Range is open for general use of the membership, except during club scheduled events held on the range. Members may use club target holders or their own on any range. Whatever targets are used MUST be placed so that bullets impact the berm and do not strike the ground. Bullets must impact a berm, and not leave the Club property. The shotgun ranges consist of 5-stand, Trap, Sporting Clays and a Skeet Field. Club members are expected to pay at the clubhouse by purchasing a shotgun range card. Target throwers will not function unless the appropriate card with credit is used. Ranges may be closed during scheduled workdays or range maintenance. Members must adhere to closed range signs when posted. Work days will be listed on the club event calendar located on the club web site. Members MUST clean up after themselves after shooting. Remove all empty ammo boxes, spent targets, beverage containers, shotgun hulls and all other rubbish. Carry it away with you or place it in the proper trash containers.

4 NO HUNTING on BGC property If you have any issues with club equipment, DO NOT attempt to make repairs yourself. Call the Range ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED ON CLUB PROPERTY! Members are limited to four guests during any visit to the range. The member is responsible for all guests at all times while on the club property. Guests are to use the same benches as the member while other members are present on the range. You must insure that all guests adhere to the club rules and do not interfere with other members. Vehicles are allowed on the ranges for the purposes of the placement or retrieval of targets. Cease-fire must be declared on the range, firearms must be rendered safe with actions open. Members may only use the designated access roads. Members and their guests are expected to use eye and ear protection during periods of active shooting. For emergencies, call 911. The club address is 153 Range Road, Belton, SC GPS Address: 300 Corner Road Belton, SC 3. Range Security: The clubhouse is open based on posted hours of operation. A range operator will be present during the posted times for purposes of assisting members, and selling shotgun range cards. The clubhouse will be locked during all other times unless there is a sponsored event or function. Only members approved by the Executive Board will be issued access to the building. The club building and property may be scheduled for other activities at the discretion of the Club President or Executive Board. Report any suspected trespassers to law enforcement and the Executive Board. Members should have their ID at all times while on the club property, and present it when requested by any other member. Show respect to others and practice good sportsmanship while on the range. Always be courteous to other shooters, and be willing to point out safety issues. The main gate will automatically close unless it is in event mode. The gate will remain on event mode during posted times for weekend shotgun events and scheduled matches. The shotgun range gates should be locked when the last member leaves. 4. Approved Firearms, Targets, and Ammunition: Members are encouraged to use club target holders, but may use their own. Targets MUST be placed so that bullets impact the berm and do not strike the ground. Reactive targets, spinners, and other steel targets must be placed at the berm so that bullets always impact the berm. Glass bottles and drink cans are not to be used as targets. Explosive or binary targets are prohibited. These targets may also be known as Tannerite. Members may place clay shotgun targets on the berm. No firearm chambered for.50bmg is allowed on any of the ranges.

5 Ammunition considered as tracer, incendiary, or explosive is strictly prohibited. Only shot shells 7½ and smaller are allowed on the shotgun ranges. Slugs and buck shot are prohibited on the shotgun ranges, but may be used on the other ranges as long as the projectiles impact the berm. Legal automatic weapons are permitted on club property. Members must follow all Federal, State and local laws and regulations. Bump fire, or any device that simulates automatic fire is prohibited on all ranges. 5. Match Guidelines: A safety briefing will be conducted before each match specific to the shooting discipline. Firing Line Safety: When a Cease Fire is ordered, NO handling of firearms, sight adjustments or general maintenance will be allowed while persons are in front of the firing line. ALL FIREARMS will be unloaded, actions will be opened and the firearms placed on the table or ground until the order to begin shooting is given. The use of Open Chamber flags is required at all rifle matches. Personal Protective Equipment: All shooters shall wear hearing and eye protection while on the range during club sanctioned matches. 6. Range Commands: CEASE FIRE! Command should be repeated three times. This command is used to stop all firing IMMEDIATELY! (Can be given by anyone that observes an unsafe action.) CLEAR THE LINE! To stop all shooting, unload all firearms and open actions. When the line is clear no one shall handle any firearm for any reason. RANGE IS CLEAR! To alert all shooters along the line that travel downrange from the firing line for any purpose is approved. THE LINE IS HOT! Notification that all shooters have completed their activity forward of the firing line and are ready to begin firing. COMMENCE FIRING Fire at targets down range. During timed events when a shot timer is used, the commands will be as follows: SHOOTER READY? ; STAND BY ; followed by a beep from the shot timer which will indicate that the shooter may commence firing. 7. General Club Regulations: The Belton Gun Club meets on the Third or Fourth Thursday of each month. Supper is catered, so the cost may vary from month to month. The menu and cost will be published in the club newsletter, and on the web site. Members planning to eat at the meeting must call the club or pay online before midnight on the Tuesday prior the meeting. Members may also the club secretary for reservations. Individuals that call in for the meal, and are unable to attend are encouraged to contact the club secretary as soon as possible. Individuals may be billed for their meals if they are not claimed at the meeting.

6 Annual dues will be paid by regular members before June 30 each year. The cards of members not paying by June 30 will be deactivated on that date. Dues payments will be accepted until September 30. After September 30, the non-paying members will be dropped from the membership role, and will have to re-apply for membership. Probationary members will pay $100 for the first year s dues, plus a $200 initiation fee upon application. The probationary member is required to attend a range orientation/safety briefing before being considered by the executive board for approval. Membership cards will not be activated until membership is approved by the Executive board on the first Tuesday of the month. Members are required to serve one year as a probationary member before consideration for full membership. The probationary member will be presented to the Executive Board for consideration of full membership on their anniversary date as noted on their membership card. Upon election to full membership, the member will receive notification via and a letter. The member is strongly encouraged to pay online as directed by the . The member will be expected to pay prorated dues for the remainder of the fiscal year per the payment schedule approved by the Executive Board. Payment will be expected within 30 days of notification of full membership election. Membership will be terminated if the probationary member does not pay the prorated dues within 90 days of election as a full member. A regular member may purchase a life membership after the completion of the probationary membership. The member must also be a member in good standing with the NRA at time of request. Cost is $1000. Work days may be used to reduce the annual dues of full members at the discretion of the Executive Board. The reduction requires a full member to volunteer for one work day lasting a minimum of 4 hours. Probationary members will receive any discount earned towards their first year as a Full Members. All members are encouraged to maintain membership in the NRA. Members can renew, change, or enroll in the NRA by following the link on the Club website, or by contacting the Club Secretary. Purchasing your NRA membership through the Belton Gun Club will entitle you to a discount in your NRA membership. When using the outside bathroom at the clubhouse, make sure the lights are turned off and the door is closed. Do not make any adjustments or turn off the heater in freezing weather. If you as a member have a concern or request, you can bring it before the Executive Board at the normal scheduled meeting times, or by contacting the club secretary in writing or . According to the Club By-Laws, only the Executive Board is granted authority to conduct Club business. Executive Board meetings are scheduled for the first Tuesday of each month, but may be rescheduled at the discretion of the Club President. The Belton Gun Club has been successful through the fellowship and cooperation among members. Help the Club continue to grow by being a good, willing and unselfish member.

7 8. Violations of Rules and Policy: Safety on our ranges is of vital importance. Members must obey the posted range rules at all time while on the club ranges. Members who violate the range rules may be denied the use of the range, and if the infraction is severe, membership can be terminated. Ground strikes and ricochets are a serious concern. Bullets must not be allowed to leave the club property. You are personally responsible for each and every round that you send down range. Members who do not follow basic gun safety, and allow unsafe practices are not welcome on Belton Gun Club property. It is your responsibility to insure that you, as well as everyone else present on the range is operating their firearms safely. Please be a good steward of our property. Each and every member should feel a sense of ownership in our facilities. We all have a stake in the overall success and safe operation of the BGC. Please work together to hold each other accountable, from the most important aspect of safety, to the general upkeep and maintenance of the club.
