RED HILL, PA PO BOX 422, HARLEYSVILLE, PA MEETING CALLED BY TYPE OF MEETING FACILITATOR NOTE TAKER MEETING SNACKS ATTENDEES President David McCauley General Membership Meeting President David McCauley Secretary Cathy Fried Clair Fox 42 members President McCauley called the meeting to order. He led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Minutes: There was a motion by Bruce Hexter to approve the June 2018 minutes which were distributed to members via and copies available at this meeting. Second by Angel Maniscalco; motion approved Communications: American Hunter. President Comments: Dave reminded everyone that the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) 1911 orders will be accepted beginning September 4 th. You will need the club s CMP # in order to apply. Details and application can be found on the CMP website: Bills: none Reports of Committees: KITCHEN: Clair Fox supplied the snacks for tonight s meeting. Keith McCarrick volunteered to provide snacks for the September meeting. Angel Maniscalco will bring snacks for the October meeting. Bob Fix reported that Frank is unable to do the breakfasts for September and October. If there are any volunteers to make breakfast, please contact Bob. As of right now, there will be no breakfast in September or October. Mario is looking for volunteers for the kitchen for October 15 th Hunter s Ed class.

2 TRAP DISCUSS DISCUS SION CLUB & LEAGUE SHOOTS Mario stated that the July Meat shoot had 8 relays (24 squads) and 11 relays (33 squads) for August. The Friday night shoots (July 13, 27 and August 10) had 6, 2 and 9 squads respectively. The Tuesday Elder Care Trap shoots held on Tuesdays had a total of 35 squads during a nine-week span. There are two more Friday night shoots for the month August 24 th and 31 st. It is not too late to join the League. The Montco/Lehigh Rural Sportsman s League shoot off will be held on two Saturdays on October 13 and 20 th one will be held in Red Hill, the other in Lehigh. ATA TRAP CLUB ATA SHOOTS There were no ATA shoots RAFFLES / APPAREL FUND RAISERS No report ARCHERY CLUB ARCHERY RANGE Joe replaced face on one of the targets and all is in good shape. FEDERATION MONTGOMERY COUNTY P.F.S.C. none

3 REPORTS OF OTHER COMMITTEES DIRECTORS PISTOL SHOOT Don reported there was one pistol shoot with 6 shooters. They meet after breakfast on the second Monday of the month if interested in joining. Bring your pistol and ammo. Don asked if a portion of the roof could be replaced with two pieces of opaque roofing to make it a bit brighter when standing in the shooting area. He will check at Home Depot to see what type of product is available to use for this purpose and the cost. RANGE DIRECTORS Doug asked shooters to stand in the front, not off to the side of the posts as there are already seven holes in the new post already. THERE SHOULD BE NO CROSS- SHOOTING. You are asked to use the right side. There is enough room for four people to shoot. The red range flag should be posted as soon as you sign in and before you shoot. There are two target hangers. Doug is working to secure more. MEMBERSHIP Joe asked the following new members to introduce themselves: Robert and Jennifer McCarty, sponsored by Steve Thomas; Brandon Halteman, sponsored by Gary Haldeman and Nettie McFarland, sponsored by Dave McCauley. A motion to approve these new members was made by Kermit Bergey; second by Bill Fox, motion passed. There are plenty of membership spots available. OLD BUSINESS Dave asked that the next work day begin at 8 AM to do additional work on the range. There are approximately two hours of work remaining. EDUCATION Hunter Ed will be held this Saturday at the New Hanover Fire House at 8 AM. We will hold the next session of Hunter Ed at the Club on September 29 th. Help is needed in the kitchen. There are Boy Scouts who are interested in getting involved. Adam Smith is the club member, who is the District Director in this area for the BSA, is coordinating this effort. 4 NEW BUSINESS Kathryn Parke asked us to consider sponsoring trophies for the Red Hill Fire Company Car Show which is scheduled for September 16 th. After discussion, Clair made a motion to donate $100 which will cover the Best of Show award; second by Dave Wolf, motion carried. Kathryn also reported that we would be able to have a table set up for the event. Dave then reviewed various pieces of legislation, supplied by Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen s Club who is looking for input. The Club voted on the following bills: Do you support SB1202 legislation that would allow the PGC to have regulatory authority of Sunday Hunting via seasons and bag management regulations, and raise the level of trespass while hunting to a primary violation? We voted YES DIRECTORS Should PFSC support a General Fund Appropriation to aid the Dept. of Agriculture and the PA Game Commission in the fight to address the Chronic Wasting Disease crisis facing our Commonwealth? (this affects deer and elk herd) We voted YES Should PFSC support a voluntary habitat stamp for anglers with the funds going towards habitat improvements? We voted NO Should PFSC support a voluntary wild trout stamp with funds going towards wild trout fisheries? We voted NO Should PFSC support allowing private landowners to stop Hungarian (gray) partridges for dog training and limited hunting purposes on private lands? We voted YES Should PFSC support urging the PGC and PFBC do more to promote the VOLUNTARY use of non-lead bullets in ammunition and the use of non-lead sinkers? We voted NO Should the PFSC be encouraging federal legislators and the PFBC to support federal funding to prevent further expansion of Asian carp upstream in the Ohio River and across remaining open pathways to the Great Lakes? We voted YES TREASURER S REPORT Tom announced that the income has been good and all is in order. There was a discussion concerning the Club s insurance. We are satisfied with the insurance coverage that we currently have as we are allowed to bring guests onto the property. Everyone was reminded to have a guest pass for each guest that is brought to the property. It was also mentioned that we got a bit of a break when the security cameras were installed. October 2015 Newsletter September has been a great month for the club with many regular events and the annual party. The Saturday night raffle and dinner was the largest so far with 160 plus people attending.
