1 Jack and the Beanstalk 2. Jack went to market Hi there! And welcome back to the second part of our musical story, Jack and the Beanstalk. I m Sarah-Jane and I m here to help you learn all the songs, ready for a big performance at the end! There are seven songs in all and we ve already learnt the first. So, today we're going to learn our second song, called 'Jack went to market. Jack has to go to the market to sell Daisy the cow and when he arrives, it's very busy - there are animals everywhere! Make sure you can see the words of the song and listen as I sing the first verse. Music: Song 2, verse 1 and chorus He saw a little pig oinking happily. With an oink, oink, here, And an oink, oink, there, oink everywhere! This is a funny song, and it's full of noises that the different animals make! It's your turn to sing verse one now! Sing out those 'oink, oinks!' clearly and in time to the music. Ready, and...

2 Music: Song 2, verse 1 He saw a little pig oinking happily. With an oink, oink, here, And an oink, oink, there, Oink, oink, oin, oink, everywhere! The 'oinks' are on repeated notes that means notes that stay the same - like in the last line: oink! Can you hear, how this is the same note, four times? Now we ll move on to the chorus. Just listen first to begin with... Music: Song 2, chorus 1 This is a very special type of chorus, as it grows and grows as the song goes on and we add more and more animals to it! So let's sing the first chorus! Ready, and... 2

3 Music: Song 2, chorus 1 what a hullabaloo! This time the 'oinks' are all on different notes: Oink! Oink! Oink! Each 'oink' is a little lower than the last one. They go from high to low. Oink! Oink! Oink! Now it's time for verse two. Listen carefully to me singing to hear how verse two is different from verse one. Music: Song 2, verse 2 He saw a little sheep baaing happily. With a baa, baa here, And a baa, baa there, baa everywhere! The second verse is very similar to the first, but this time we re singing about a little sheep who says 'Baa!' And remember - just like the 'oinks,' your 'baas' are on the same repeat- ed note. 3

Let's sing all of verse four, then we'll go on to sing the chorus again, starting with - The horse went neigh / Neigh, neigh, neigh... So, sitting up straight...deep breath...ready and... Music: Song 2, verse 4 He saw a little horse neighing happily. With a neigh, neigh here, And a neigh, neigh, there, Neigh, neigh, neigh, neigh everywhere! The horse went neigh, Neigh, neigh, neigh, The duck went quack, 7

8 Quack, quack, quack! Phew! That s quite a list of animals! We've got one more verse to learn in our song verse five. Listen to me singing again and follow the words... Music: Song 2, verse 5 He saw a little worm wiggling happily. With a wiggle, wiggle, here, And a wiggle, wiggle, there, Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle everywhere! I hope you noticed that this little wiggling worm has a very different word rhythm to all the other animals. Usually the word rhythm is: La, la, la. / Oink, oink, oink! But this time it's much faster. It s: Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle. Sing and clap this with me. You ll have to clap really fast. Ready, and... Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle. 8

9 Now let's sing all of verse five and the final chorus. You can wiggle your hips when you sing Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle. So first of all stand up ready to wiggle! Everyone standing? Here goes.
