6 RULES & REGULATIONS The Committee of the Buckskin Horse Association of NSW reserves the right to alter, delete or combine, without notice, any class/event on the schedule. 1. The Buckskin Horse Association of NSW accept NO responsibility for loss, damage or injury to animals. 2. All competitors compete at their own risk. 3. No competitor or other person is permitted to enter the ring area and query any judge. All enquiries must be directed to the ring steward or ring master. 4. Any exhibitor wishing to protest any decision on the part of a judge, or any decision or omission on the part of the Buckskin Horse Association of NSW, shall judge such protest within ONE HOUR on the day upon which such decision act or omission occurred. The protest shall be set out in writing and lodged with the Event Secretary with a fee of $50 which shall be forfeited should the protest NOT be upheld. 5. All competitors must be suitably attired. 6. The Buckskin Horse Association of NSW and steward reserve the right to: (i) Refuse entry without appeal. (ii) Remove from the grounds any horse or competitor without appeal. 7. If any judge considers that an exhibit does not possess sufficient merit to deserve a prize, no prize shall be awarded. 8. Ribbons to be awarded to 3 rd place. 9. Ridden Pony, Galloway, Hacks and Riding Classes shall be conducted to EA rules. 10. Stallions must be under control always and be handled by a person 17yrs & over at all times. Stallions are only permitted in classes specified for stallions. 11. All exhibitors must be able to produce an official measurement certificate if required. Measurements will only be made in the case of a dispute. 12. Proof of current registration papers with the recognized relevant breed society or association must be available upon request. 13. Outside assistance to competitors by word, radio or any other method on the horse ring events will not be permitted. 14. Newcomer Classes : Eligibility restricted to a horse that has NOT competed UNDER SADDLE prior to 1 st January in it s first year of being shown. Once competed under saddle, such horse ceases to be a Newcomer on the 1 st December that same year. Newcomers are required to be shown in a snaffle bit. 15. Classes which refer to Child the riders must be under 17yrs at the date of the show. 16. A Novice : is an exhibit/rider who has not won a 1 st place at any recognised Show in a similar class/event. 17. An Intermediate : is an exhibit/rider who has not won a 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd place at a Royal Show in a similar class/event. Property Identification Codes (PIC): As from the 1 st September 2012, people with horses on their property need to apply for a Property Identification Code. This is a NSW DPI Bio-Security measure. Pics are assigned to individual properties and allocated by Livestock Health and Pest Authorities who maintain the register. You may already have a PIC if you pay your rates to LPHA. PIC number must be supplied when entering the Show/Event. Risk Waiver Form: All competitors, additional riders, handlers and connections on the grounds must complete a risk waiver form on the morning when entering the show. Wrist bands will be issued.
