Emily Burke, Directr f Early Cllege Dual Credit Credentialing: Ideas & Inspiratin With the HLC s decisin t extend the deadline fr cmpliance with the requirements fr dual credit faculty t September 1, 2022, here are sme ways that schls and schl systems arund the state are wrking twards that target:

2 Elkhart: Elkhart Central and Elkhart Memrial High Schls plan t reimburse teachers wh are wrking tward fully credentialed status. Teachers must have a plan in place when they make applicatin fr reimbursement by the schl district. Greensburg: The district has a strng and lng-term cmmitment t prviding dual credit pprtunities and replaces a dual credit teacher wh leaves with a similarly-credentialed new hire. The superintendent and schl bard have affirmed their cmmitment t dual credit thrugh financial supprt fr teachers in need f additinal cursewrk t meet HLC requirements. Cnnersville: Cnnersville High Schl administratin has cmmitted t hire credentialed teachers as replacements - even thse wh wuld need t be cmpensated at a higher level - in rder t ensure the cntinuatin f dual credit curses. The schl is als ffering funds t reimburse teachers up t half f their tuitin fr curses leading t credentialing. The schl crpratin cnvened with teachers and CHS administratin t brainstrm additinal ideas and incentives t encurage teachers t pursue credentialing. STEM Teach III Update CELL and ICI submitted a prpsal t ICHE fr anther rund f STEM Teach funding. This third rund f funding, if granted, will prvide Indiana dual credit teachers the pprtunity t cmplete graduate cursewrk at varius pstsecndary institutins. This wuld allw teachers t cntinue teaching dual credit curses under the HLC's requirements that g int effect in Lk fr an update frm CELL sn with news and pprtunities related t pssible funding fr dual credit teachers!

3 15 Early Cllege High Schls Endrsed This past schl year was a phenmenal year fr endrsement. In ttal, fur schls achieved first-time endrsement and three schls were reendrsed. That brings the ttal number f endrsed Early Cllege high schls thrughut the state t 15! Plus, an additinal fur schls have been prvisinally endrsed r re-endrsed and will receive final determinatins during this schl year.
