3 EBRPSS Public Schl Chice Prcess Schl Year Selectin criteria fr Public Schl Chice: 1. Students attending F-schls will be ffered a higher perfrming schl based n the fllwing criteria: a. At least tw higher perfrming schls will be paired with each F schl that is required t ffer Public Schl Chice (as regulated by N Child Left Behind Federal Law). b. A list f all students attending F schls will be develped, gruped by grade level. c. A letter f explanatin and an applicatin fr chsing a higher perfrming schl will be mailed t all children at each F schl that is required t ffer Public Schl Chice. d. If requests utnumber seats available in a particular grade level, priritizatin within the schl will be determined as fllws: i. Within the grade level, students with the lwest academic scres (LEAP r ileap) will be given preference in ascending rder until all seats are taken. e. Student Placement Title I places the students using the fllwing prcedure: Cunt requests Cmpare requests t available seats at receiving schls Offers parents a chice transfer Limited space prblems are reslved using the fllwing criteria: Academic Ranking Chice Transfer Acceptance Ntificatin Issue acceptance ntificatins t parents/guardians by direct mail and hand delivery t students at hme schl during the week f January 20, (A list will be sent t sending and receiving schls). Student Registratin Prcess Begins Tuesday, January 20, 2015 and ends Friday, January 30, Parent/guardian takes acceptance letter and apprved applicatin t hme schl. Guidance makes and keeps a cpy f the apprved applicatin. Immediately drp students with a Cde 27. Student takes the acceptance letter, apprved applicatin, and drp slip t new schl fr registratin. Transfer students will be required t purchase and wear prper unifrms at the schl t which he r she transfers. (Elementary schl unifrms and middle schl unifrms are cnsistent thrughut schls.) 7 Schl Chice FAQs Students wh are currently attending a schl labeled as an F may apply fr a Chice transfer. The applicatin must be submitted n later than Friday, January 9, 2015, at 4:30 p.m. (Mailed/Faxed applicatins must bear a pstmark r time stamp date f January 9, 2015, r earlier t be accepted.) N transfers will be apprved fr students beynd the January 9, 2015, deadline. This includes students new t the schl and/r district. Textbks fllw the student t their new schl. Enfrcement f unifrm plicies must be flexible until the chice prcess has been cmpleted; hwever, unifrms are the same at the elementary schls and at the middle schls thrughut the district. Bus rutes may be btained when the student registers at the new schl. Fax the apprved applicatin t Transprtatin at A bus rute will be assigned, and the infrmatin will be faxed back t the schl.
